Chris Brown Leads 2020 Soul Train Awards With 4 Victories

Chris Brown added some more hardware to his trophy room over the weekend. On Sunday (November 29), C. Breezy notched four wins out of his seven nominations at the 2020 Soul Train Awards, which made him the top winner of the night at the Martin stars Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold-hosted event.

C.B. took home honors for Best R&B/Soul Male Artist. His Slime & B “Go Crazy” collab with Young Thug ended up winning Song of the Year, along with another two awards in the Best Collaboration and Best Dance Performance categories. Brown lost out to Summer Walker’s Over It for Album of the Year.

Megan Thee Stallion was also well represented. Following her four Grammy nominations, her “Savage” smash won out in the Rhythm of & Bars category. Other standouts include Snoh Aalegra earning Best New Artist and Beyoncé’s “Brown Skin Girl” from The Lion King securing Video of the Year.

The four trophies cap off what’s been a solid end to November for Brown. Last week, Kanye West blessed the R&B singer with a brand new SHERP ATV. The tank-like truck arrived at Breezy’s doorstep just prior to Thanksgiving alongside a note commemorating him for his two decades in the music business.

Chris Brown Asked For 'Dick Pics' Immediately After Launching OnlyFans Page

“Congratulations to Chris Brown on 20 years in the game,” the message read. “You’ve overcome so many hurdles and obstacles. You deserve the recognition for all the hard work you’ve put in – Yeezy.”

Brown then thanked Yeezy with a shout-out for the ultra-kind gesture.

It’s been a full-circle journey for Brown, who remains a fixture in R&B even as his self-titled debut album turns 15 on Monday (November 30). The triple-platinum album included his breakout hit “Run It!” featuring Juelz Santana among other standouts such as “Yo (Excuse Me Miss)” and “Say Goodbye.”
