Chamillionaire Powers Through Lyft Investor Interview With Nipsey Hussle On His Mind

The death of Nipsey Hussle has weighed heavy on the minds of the Hip Hop community, including Chamillionaire. The rapper-turned-venture capitalist said Nipsey’s passing almost made him cancel an appearance on CNBC’s Squawk Alley on Monday (April 1).

Cham was interviewed about his successful investments, such as investing in Lyft before it went public, and how his work can help his community. In an Instagram post about his CNBC segment, the multi-platinum selling artist noted his struggle to focus in the aftermath of losing Nipsey.

“Honestly, I could barely think straight during this Squawk Alley @cnbc interview today because of the passing of @nipseyhussle,” he wrote. “I wanted to cancel but I’m glad I didn’t because I know people need to hear this information.”

He added, “We have to start planting more seeds in our communities. We have to start INVESTING in our future. We have to support each other more. What do riches mean if your people aren’t eating? (Please tag someone that needs to hear this) #ripnipsey #themarathoncontinues.”

Nipsey was shot and killed outside The Marathon Clothing store in Los Angeles on Sunday (March 31). The Los Angeles Police Department has identified a 29-year-old man named Eric Holder as the suspected shooter.

    1. wonder if he knows by investing in Lyft he supports human trafficking as drivers get $2-4 on most rides when their costs are $2-4 so free labor on most rides

      1. People do have a choice to work for them or not. No company forces anyone to work for them in America; if you don’t like the wages then work for yourself or find somewhere else. Simple

      2. Dude, he is black, and talking about helping other black people specifically. By pointing out any possible flaw in logic or intent, you are a racist. You’ll soon not have a job and your family will abandon you. Unless you’re black. Then, you’d just have you’re family abandon you.
