Central Cee‘s newly-released album Can’t Rush Greatness is expected to have a superb opening week — an estimate from Hits Daily Double has the UK rapper moving around 37,000 units.
The outlet published its numbers on Friday (January 31), and said that the performance of the rapper’s debut LP means that it will be in the week’s top 10, alongside projects by Bad Bunny, SZA and Kendrick Lamar.
According to their “Hits Top 50” chart, 10K of Central Cee’s 37K total was album sales, and almost the entire rest of the total was from streams.
The Billboard 200 album chart’s top 10 will be released on Sunday (February 2), so fans will be able to see final numbers then, if the rapper charts that high.
Cee, for his part, has admitted that he “likes” the fact that he did not feature Drake on Can’t Rush Greatness.
Speaking on Dutch radio station FunX, the British rap star revealed that he has an unreleased collaboration with Drizzy in the stash, but is glad that he chose not to put it on his recently released debut LP.
“I’m sure there’s a Drake record in the vault,” he said. “But it seemed like it was predictable. I think everybody was thinking that there’s gonna be a Drake record on there. So I like the fact that there wasn’t.”
Cench also hinted that he was “saving” the song he recorded with the 6 God, with whom he previously collaborated on a viral freestyle for On the Radar.
The freestyle was released commercially in 2023 and led to Central Cee cracking the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for the first time as it peaked at number 80.
While Drake did not appear on the tracklist for Can’t Rush Greatness, the 26-year-old did recruit a number of American all-stars for the album including Lil Baby, 21 Savage and Lil Durk, as well as fellow Londoners Skepta and Dave.
The project has already been hailed as one of the best rap releases of 2025 so far and is expected to make a splash on the Billboard 200.
take your head out of your ass
He’s not talented he’s just another wannabe fake thug like all these foreign rappers especially the British. Drake put this guy on and it was so bad I guess we have to blame Wayne and Birdman for Drake since they put him on and he’s out of hand now. He learned from Birdman about how to treat kids IYKYK.
Your favourites, kendrick and weeknd also wouldn’t exist beyond niche markets without drake highlighting them. You know, the artist they now hate for attention
Not my favorites and niche? Bro Public Enemy, Tribe Called Quest, Nas, Rakim, Run DMC, DMX, Big L, Mob Deep, LL, they did it without Drake. Drake needed Lil Wayne to get through. California ruined Hip Hop and so did their influence turning it into this.
Dude’s a proper lyricist. I hope he chooses the right beats for career longevity though
No he’s a proper nob, you clearly have zero taste, I’m English and no one gives a seconds thought to this plonker (uk term for a r trotter)
