Cardi B Reveals Offset A&R’ed Most Of “Invasion Of Privacy” Features

In February 2019, Cardi B made history as the first female rapper to win a Grammy for Best Rap Album.

Anyone who figured the road came easy is in for a Twitter lesson courtesy of the “Bodak Yellow” rapper herself.

On Wednesday (August 28), Cardi shared informative insight on what it took to create her debut, Invasion of Privacy.

She began, “On my album I showed different sides of me.From my intro talking about my pass.To living my best life inspiring people. Relationship songs while I was going thru my own relationship drama to shaking ass like Bodak & that ASS .Every song went platinum!”

The “Clout” co-star is far from drinking her own medicine. In December 2018, all 14 of Invasion of Privacy‘s records were certified gold or better and according to her, have since been upgraded to platinum.

And she accomplished all the feats while pregnant with her now one-year-old daughter Kulture.

“I did it all while I was pregnant,” she continued. “Throwing up, drowsy, terrible colds and in a rush to finish it so I can start doing music videos before I started showing .I spend 24 hours for months sleeping on a couch with my pregnant depressed ass in a studio.”

As a relatively new artist, Cardi admits she didn’t understand label politics and actually had Offset not only speak on her behalf to Atlantic Records but according to her, score most of the features for the album.

“I had to get my husband to talk to my label cause I never had a relationship with them so we all came together to relocate me to Atlanta and Miami to finish my album before my stomach start showing,” she recalled. “When i kept seeing the certifications of the songs going gold or platinum I was so excited cause my husband was out here asking everybody for a feature on my behalf so the ones that said yes thank you from the bottom of my heart cause TRUST ME ALOT OF ARTIST SAID NO!”

The multi-platinum album featured cameos from the likes of SZA, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Playboi Carti and even Migos, but she never specified which features her crafty hubby managed to secure.

She also revisited her legendary Grammy night, including words of wisdom from the late Nipsey Hussle she still cherishes to this very moment.

“When I won Nipsey said on a comment to me WHEN IS YOUR TIME IS YOUR TIME!” she exclaimed. “Now when I speak to upcoming artist or people who ask me for advice I tell them the same thing ! WHEN IS YOUR TIME IS YOUR TIME and when it comes don’t let nobody take that special moment away from you !”

Other Invasion of Privacy accolades including a two No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hits with “Bodak Yellow” and “I Like It,” a BET Award for Album of the Year and multiple streaming records.

      1. At least she took a step to change. She a bad azz bih??!!! You must admit she wanted to pursue music and she went full force and determination is the key

        1. No she hasn’t changed. Instead of selling her body in someone’s bedroom, shes doing it on wax. As far as the determination is concerned shes just the beneficiary of a very weird time in this country where the more morally compromised a person is the more popular they become. And by that metric shes neck and neck with our wonderful president.

    1. I really can not believe how many jealous, women there are out there. It’s such a shame Cardi-B is wonderful and she worked hard to get where she is . I am sure each and every one you, had your moments . Back up and let the “SUPER STAR” live hers? Cardio stay strong and beautiful a whole lot of people Love you…1 of your Trilian fans. Hopefully you will make it to Fresno CA. SOON??

    2. Many people judge an didnt like that she was the one that presented Missy Elliott with her Award. But Cardi was the perfect person. SHE MADE HISTORY. SHE IS THE 1ST, & ONLY FEMALE RAPPER THAT HAS WON THE AWARD FOR BEST RAP ALBUM.
She deserves every moment of Glory. Haters are gonna hate, but being disrespectful is just taunting , & unfavorable.
Cardi worked so hard. She did that Album while pregnant. She pushed herself to succeed. She did it all while in an out of relationship issues.
Alot of people Continue to Bash her.
But those people are the ones that sit in they shit every day with No change to life.
Proud to see A woman succeed in A manner of hard work and Dedication.
      CONGRATULATIONS CARDI.
