Bun B has celebrated his 50th year of life in a big way, renewing vows with his longtime wife Angela “Queenie” Walls and partying the night away with a packed house of his friends, family and musical peers.

The ceremony took place on Sunday (March 19), kicking off with the vow renewal for Bun and Queenie’s 20th anniversary at the Contemporary Arts Museum of Houston. According to Essence, this was just a small, intimate ceremony – before Bun was surprised with a huge party upstairs to celebrate his milestone birthday.

Bun B and his wife have been through a lot together, including dealing with an armed and masked intruder while they were at home in Houston a few years back.

The incident occurred in the spring of 2019, and Bun not only shot the would-be robber, but hopped in his car and chased the man down in an effort to identify him as well.

The TrillStatik collaborator was able to catch the man and hold him at gunpoint until he agreed to take off his mask, but he escaped again. The suspect ultimately showed up at a local hospital with a gunshot injury to his shoulder. He was treated and promptly arrested.

The 21-year-old suspect, identified as Demonte Jackson, was going door-to-door trying to find someone to jack. Bun B and his wife weren’t intended targets. He was charged with three first-degree felonies, including two counts of aggravated robbery with a weapon and one count of burglary.
