Boosie Badazz Claims He’s More Respected Than JAY-Z In The South

JAY-Z may be considered by many as the greatest rapper of all time, but in the South, he’ll never rank above Boosie Badazz — according to the Baton Rouge native himself, anyway.

On Tuesday (July 25), Boosie sparked a heated debate on social media after posting a screenshot of a tweet that read: “Nobody from the South has Jay-Z ahead of Boosie on their All-Time list.”

Boosie co-signed the bold claim by writing in his Instagram caption: “I FUCK WITH JIGGA BUT THIS FACTS‼️ STREET N-GGAS N DA SOUTH DONT PUT HOV OVER BADAZZ.”

    Check out his post below:

Boosie’s post prompted plenty of strong reactions from fans on both sides of the fence.

“Neva have neva will,” fellow Louisiana rapper Hurricane Chris wrote in the comments section, agreeing with Boosie’s statement.

“If you really from down south you ain’t never hit the block and heard a n*gga bumping no dam JayZ .. cut it out ! Let’s be real,” another Southern rap fan argued.

Someone else wrote: “In the south.. ‘Set it off’ and ‘WIPE ME DOWN’ LIGHTS THE CROWD ON FIRE waaay more than ANY JIGGA SONG [shrug emoji] that’s just southern facts.”

However, others struggled to get behind the narrative that Boosie Badazz ranks higher JAY-Z when it comes to the greatest rappers of all time, including even those from the South.

“Yea you trippin. Definitely southern biasness,” one person wrote. “If we’re talkin ALL TIME List, Boosie not even in the top 15 imo. Damn sure ain’t no damn Top 5. Jay-Z easily is top 5 rapper all time especially lyrically[.] and I’m from the deep dirty south.”

“I fw hatch but Jay come down south and sell out arena shows, boo ain’t selling out arenas nowhere in the south. Not even BR,” another argued.

Someone else comically pointed out: “Boosie sold 500 copies his last album. Down south ain’t messing with Boosie like that either apparently [crying face emoji].”

This isn’t the first time that Boosie Badazz has caused a stir with his opinions on JAY-Z. Last year, the “Wipe Me Down” hitmaker claimed that the Roc Nation boss is no longer “relevant” for his musical output.

“JAY-Z’s not relevant this day for music,” he said in an interview with VladTV. “Just like when I go to these clubs in Atlanta, these 25 to 35 clubs, I’m not hearing Nas, I’m not hearing JAY-Z. Every club I go in, it’s not one of the other, Vlad. Nigga, I’m in the city. I’m outside! I be everywhere.

Instead, Boosie argued that Hov makes waves these days for his achievements as a businessman, rather than an artist.

“JAY-Z is respected by these people for being that boss that he is,” he continued. “When JAY-Z flash across that muthafucka, it’s something with a billion dollars, it’s something with a 500 billion, 200 billion! It ain’t his songs flashing across no social media. It’s his hustle.”

DJ Vlad countered by saying the entire Hip Hop community “stopped” when JAY-Z spit his epic, four-minute verse on DJ Khaled’s 2022 song “God Did,” which went on to be nominated for three Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year.

“I think that if JAY-Z dropped a brand new album right now, it would sell way more than 30,000,” Vlad speculated, referring to the first-week sales of his former rival Nas’ King’s Disease III.

However, Boosie dug his heels in. “Bro, we’re talking about relevance,” he replied. “And if we go in the club of that age range, JAY-Z’s not getting played and Nas is not getting played I’m telling you the truth, bro!”

    1. Kinda tru to a degree, aint no one south of d.c really bumping Jay z unless it’s a workout even then you get more hyped listening to southern rap or drill music(southern inspired) Gucci mane is the king of the south post 2010 Boosie is known for interviews not music, like post 04ish jay z is known for $ not music

    2. Not only are Dude Wipes flushable but they also provide the anus with much needed aloe and Vitamin E . I highly recommend

    3. Can we agree that there’s a subculture of artists (boozie, budden) that ONLY stay relevant by trying to say dumb shocking sh1t? Without social media we wouldn’t be giving attention AT ALL to these bumz. I remember boozie crying how mo one attended that forgotten life story movie about himself. Even then, the hood failed him lol

    4. It’s more than obvious by now Boosie BozoAzz owns this shit hole site it ain’t worth a single roll of toilet tissue anyway.

    5. I can’t wait for Boosie’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. It will be in a parking lot Walmart in another city.
