Detroit, Michigan rapper Big Sean reportedly revealed the name of his third studio album via social media over the weekend.
MissInfo.tv reports that the G.O.O.D. Music lyricist had those involved with the creation of the project post a cloudy picture of the album’s title, Dark Sky Paradise, on Instagram. Among the artists who uploaded the picture were Drake, Jhene Aiko, Travi$ Scott, and PARTYNEXTDOOR.
Similar to Big Sean’s upload of the album title picture, captions for the picture by those who shared it were left blank.
During an interview with High Snobiety last November, Big Sean spoke on releasing a much “darker” project with his Hall Of Fame follow-up.
“It’s way darker than anything I’ve ever done, way harder than any album I’ve ever done,” Big Sean said late last year. “I’m pretty sure you’re going to like this album. The sound of it is definitely better than the mixtapes but it’s more of that type of intensity, high-level raps, and just not giving a fuck and going in.”
Although Big Sean did reveal the title of his upcoming album, a release date for the project remains unknown.
In addition to his Instagram upload, Big Sean also sent out a tweet alluding to the status of the album and also previewed his collaboration with Drake during a club appearance over the weekend.
Why is he trying to copy kanye?
The same reason Kanye copied Jay so much and Jay copied Biggie. Working with great artists and being inspired by those artists can cause you to blatantly or subconsciously borrow from them. It can also be viewed as a sign of respect or paying homage.
^^ Kanye never copied Jay, Jay-Z has been biting off of Kanye since Kingdom Come, and he was using his beats for years before that. Everyone copies Kanye, Kanye bites no one.
@Fey no disrespect bruh but you got that wayyyy wrong lol Kingdom Come came out in 2006. Kanye been copying Jay since his debut in 2004. On All Falls Down, Kanye raps “They made us hate ourself and love they wealth.” He bit that from a Jay song called Dopeman that came out in 1999. On Ham, Kanye’s started with “It was all good just a week ago.” He got that from Jay Z’s song with the same title back in 1998. Those are just two examples out of several. And that’s not disrespecting him. Kanye is a GOAT no doubt. But like other great artists, he was inspired by his idols.
ABOUT A WEEK AGO, WEEK AGO!
