NBC Nitecap recent caught up with G.O.O.D. Music star Big Sean on the North Carolina leg of his “Finally Famous Tour.” During the interview, Sean talked about working with Kanye West and the mentorship he’s offered him. The Detroit rapper explained that his Chi-Town partner offers extensive amounts of moral support and even told him and Jay-Z that he believes Sean is going to be the next star in Hip Hop.
“He really admires and appreciates the culture and people pushing it forward. I sit and realize how special it was for him to listen to me and actually sign me,” he said. “I remember we were standing next to Jay-Z and he [Kanye] was like you’re gonna be the best rapper, talking to me. You’re going to have your moment like all these people have their moments and be the best rapper.”
Big Sean also talked about what making music offers to him outside of the fame and fortune. He explained that not only does music afford him the opportunity to express himself, but that it gives him the chance to inspire and act as a role model younger people.
“The music is a way to a better life. It’s a way of life. It’s a way in which I’m able to see the world and expand my mind and be a leader for young people,” said Sean. “What you can feel with your heart and spirit is way more real than what you can feel with your eyes”.
The full video interview can be seen below.
This nig…he’s talking about being a role model for kids; and he has a song called Ass, Ass, Ass. – lol
^this haha
@soberthoughts …lmao.. All these rappers wanting to be role models are a joke. They need to first get their heads up out of their own asses..
kanye is a liar
Role model? This dude is the Cinnabon of rap. He couldn’t say shit in a song if he had a near death experience at the top of a mountain with sharks eating both of his ankles.
Kendrick Lamar. enough said
These G.O.O.D. music fools do nothing but pat each other on the back.
yeah man songs like the ASS remix are a great way to be role models.
its good that homosexual rappers like big sean are out here representin for all the gay bois out there
Everytime a rapper comes out saying some “positive” shit in an interview, it rarely, RARELY matches up with the messages of their songs. Do these niggas even listen to what comes out of their own mouth??? Rappers man….
do you fools listen to music or do you just skim through it?
I work three jobs and I have custody of two kids in a deprived part of town, so normally yeah, I just skim through it…
Sorry
Role model my A$$!!!! Didn’t you just cop a plea for a sexual assault w/ a minor???? WTF!
Dude is far from the best too. Kanye and Jay are just mad that they can’t discover a Rapper that can do it as big as Drake.
I think the verdict on the new drake “love sonnet” is in… he’s unlikely to move more than the first “heartbreak CD”
The Good music roster is… so-so.. Roc Nation a lil better… YM is current… but I don’t expect that to last.
Wu-Tang however…. is Forever!
