B.G. Adds Crescent City Spin To Maino’s ‘For My City’ With New Orleans Remix

B.G. has added some Southern spice to one of Maino’s biggest hits of the year, giving it a twist of his own that offers fans an alternate angle.

Maino dropped his latest solo album on Friday (December 15). Just as K.O.B.4 went live, he also unleashed a new remix of “For My City” with the Cash Money veteran, along with a music video.

“B.G. is my brother, we have a solid history,” the 50-year-old MC told AllHipHop. “So it was only right for him to jump on the remix. The timing, for him to show love to his city worked out too – especially considering some of what I touched on in my lyrics.”

Check out the New Orleans rework of the joint below:

In 2012, B.G. was sentenced to 14 years behind bars after pleading guilty to two counts of possession of a firearm and one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice stemming from a 2009 traffic stop arrest.

He has been back on his grind since his release in September. Among a string of other collaborations, he and Gucci Mane released a collaborative mixtape titled Choppers & Bricks.

B.G. and Guwop released the first single from their latest project last month, teaming up with Mike WiLL Made-It on “Cold.”

Even before B.G. regained his freedom, the Atlanta mogul pledged his support to his peer by proclaiming he had a $1 million record deal on the table to bring Gizzle to the 1017 family.

“My 1017 family help me welcome home the living legend @BGHollyHood!” Gucci wrote on Twitter last year, following soon-to-be debunked rumors that B.G. had been released from prison. “Glad u home bruh! Got so much love and respect for u as a man and artist! Get at me, I got a milli for u! Wanna sign u to 1017!!!!! #1017Mafia [money bag emojis].”

Over the past few months, the former Hot Boy has dropped a handful of singles and appeared on tracks with E-40, Kevin Gates, Boosie Badazz and more.
