Beyonce “Will Be” On The Same Level As Michael Jackson, According To Charlamagne Da God

Although radio personality Charlamagne Da God referred to Michael Jackson as being god-like and “legendary,” he recently shared his belief that another singer “will be” on the same level as the pop star and could possibly surpass him.

While speaking with Vlad TV, Charlamagne revealed that Beyonce will one day “be looked upon in the same regards” as Michael Jackson. The Breakfast Club host spoke on both singers after he was asked to share his thoughts on Kid Rock stating that he was “flabbergasted” by the amount of praise Beyonce receives, during a recent interview with Rolling Stone.

“I’m a Beyonce fan,” Charlamagne Da God said. “I think she’s dope. I think she’s the greatest entertainer that our generation has seen. I mean, the previous generation had Michael Jackson. But for our generation I think it’s Beyonce. And I even put—You can’t compare anybody to anybody. Michael Jackson is a god. He’s legendary. He’s on a totally different level. But Beyonce, if she’s not already, she absolutely will be on that same level. She will be looked upon in the same regards, if not more, as Michael Jackson was. That’s just the truth to the matter. People hate when I say that, but you’ll see in the future. It’s gonna happen.”

During his interview with Rolling Stone, Kid Rock also stated that he’s unsure of why Beyonce has the level of stardom she has without boasting a record like Prince’s “Purple Rain” or Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama.”

In regards to those particular comments, Charlamagne explained that those records were released during “different eras” and added that Beyonce still “has classic records.”

“It’s different eras,” he said. “‘Purple Rain,’ totally different era. ‘Sweet Home Alabama,’ totally different era. If you look at a song like—Let’s say ‘Single Ladies’ for example. The cultural impact of ‘Single Ladies’ was incredible…That shit got spoofed by Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake. It sold a lot of records. It had everybody doing that ‘Single Ladies’ hand gesture dance. So, it’s just different ways for a record to impact. Those are classic records that people love, love. Beyonce has classic records that people absolutely love and adore to this day. So, I can’t compare her to a ‘Purple Rain.’”

    1. i don’t think she will be on that level. She dope and def the best entertainer of this new era. But kids bump mjs thriller album and all his hits. Kids 20 years from now bumping her singles like that? Probably not maybe single ladies, they’ll probably be bumpin thriller, human nature. She probably the closet thing to Michael Jackson tho

    2. No disrespect to Beyonce and she is a great entertainer but Michael Jackson is in a level way above his competitors.

    3. I usually agree with what Charlamagne says, but not in this case. I find Beyonce’s songs and her voice to be incredibly annoying and I really don’t know why she’s so popular. She’s not all that great and will NEVER be on the same level as the king of pop, MJ.

      1. Let’s not forget that MJ couldn’t touch Bey when it comes to singing. Just stating facts. She’s the total package. That’s why she is so great and powerful!

    4. No one and I mean no one can compare to Beyoncé! Her impact is undeniable! This woman is already a legend at 33 years old. She’s the most awarded LIVING female artist of all time (3rd most awarded overall behind Michael and Whitney). She has 20 grammy awards, 16 vmas, 3 Legend Awards, and the list goes on. She will be on the level of MJ. Arguably, she may already be there.

      1. how does that make any fucking sense?
3rd most awarded person of all time after MJ & WH.
BUT the nr 1 most awarded FEMALE of all time.

your statement shows how fake you are.
        dream on motherfucker.

    5. Ask yourself a simple question……in 20 years, will you still be listening to Beyonce?

MJ’s Thriller is 33 years old, That’s the very definition of a classic.

    6. I agree with him mostly but I do take exception to him gassing up Fallon and Timberlake, as if them doing a skit on her song is some kind of high watermark. It was Timberlake, Andy Samberg and Bobby Moynihan by the way but the point remains.

    7. Simpleminded lyrics that are getting dumber by the album…it’s blasphemy to mention her in the same sentence. WHO will pull her music out to listen to even 10 years from now?

    8. MJ touched the WORLD, Beyonce will never come close to that. I’m 31 years old and have the Jackson 5 as well as all of MJ’s solo albums in my catalog. When people listen to music that was made years before they were born and years afterwards, and feel the message in it…then that makes you legendary, straight up. Side note, I always say the only person that would ever get pass no matter what hood or slum in the world he was in was MJ, he would be good anywhere and that’s some dope shit!

    9. “He would sing us an entire string arrangement, every part…Had it all in his head, harmony and everything. Not just little eight bar loop ideas. He would actually sing the entire arrangement into a micro-cassette recorder complete with stops and fills,” sound engineer, Rob Hoffman, on Michael’s recording process.

    10. She just cannot be that person. You know why? Because nobody will be as big as MJ. Guys, MJ made it possible for Beyonce and the likes to even be part of the music industry. Hell, i’ll go even further and say that MJ was indeed the main reason why even RAP has been able to get on a mainstream level and have commercial success. We all know the story of Billie Jean video clip, we also all know all the other barriers that MJ BROKE, singlehandedly (well, maybe with the help of his label) NO ONE can re-break these barriers, because they are already broken by ‘The One’. MJJ.

All the ones inhere who are pussy licking Beyonce, y’all talking smack, you’ve got 2 kinds of people in this world, MJ fans & crazy people (quote by who-ever that was). i consider you beyonce pussy lickers to fall in the second category.

    11. ‘Charlamagne de God’ – what kinda STUPID dumb-butt name is that for anyone to have anyway!!! Some limp little d**** that means NOTHING but clearly needed a name to make him ‘big’!!

    12. ‘Charlamagne de God’ – what kinda STUPID dumb-butt name is that for anyone to have anyway!!! Someone that is pretty insecure to HAVE to choose something to make him ‘bigger’than he REALLY is!!

As for Beyoncé, as far as was aware, she was clearly influenced by Michael to follow her dream and has said he’s her inspiration! So unless supporting her husband in this Tidal s**t has turned her head, please DON’T BE speaking such utter bullcrap!!!!

    13. Beyonce will top Michael Jackson?

Never gonna happen! Keep dreaming because michael will always be the number 1 best forever and he will never be topped by or surpassed by Beyonce or anyone in a million years or more and I don’t care what all you retards say, it won’t ever happen! Damn straight.

    14. I like some songs of Beyonce, she has a good voice and looks. But I think sometimes black people want that we recognize all black artists as iconic, Michael Jackson left some big BIG shoes to fill. I still don’t see how Beyonce has revolutionized the art, music or short film industry?
Beyonce has been lucky to be in the spotlight when internet era and social networks allowed us to share music and other data easily. Michael sold millions of records because everyone spread it orally, his talent was so mind-blowing that everyone recognized it. Michael broke many barriers: social and racial, and it is because of him that black artists became globally accepted.
I know several artists such as James Brown , Billie Holiday, Marvin Gaye, Chucky Berry and others that really had a trademark and changed music history in a huge way unfortunately at those times there was a lot of racism. Beyonce is like Diana Ross of our times, but still her music is very commercial not as classic as from Ross. I don’t deny her talents, don’t get me wrong.
But please think twice before putting her name next to such an iconic and respectable name as Michael Jackson. So far, no artist white or black has scratch his level. Independtly of the many numbers they might get in Facebook, Youtube…artistically speaking, someone would need to give a huge turn upside-down to what we all know as mere pop music or dance or short films. We are talking about a man who was a gifted composer, who unlike many males he also had a register of soprano in his adulthood (Who is it? check wiki and hear the intro) aside of his baritone and tenor register, he made his own vocal arrangements, aside of dancing, he was a coreographer, he used to draw, he wrote poems, he has a patent for inventing the leaning anti-gravity shoes, those epic concerts, etc….who can do all that and more? I don’t hear anyone!!!

    15. No ,not even any other artist , MJ ‘s music touched all ages all people around the world . He was first black american who takes the world ! and gets su micj love by people around the world

    16. Michael Jackson is still a global ICON and still known today and forever , beyonce is the next Justin timberlake lol

    17. She does not sell out big stadia like Wembley Stadium in England. Michael Jackson and Tina Turner consistently sold out this stadium.
