Beyonce’s ‘Renaissance’ Album Poised For Massive Billboard 200 Chart Debut

Beyoncé’s first solo album in six years is set to follow its predecessors with a reign atop the charts.

According to HitsDailyDouble, the famed singer’s seventh studio effort, Renaissance, is projected to bring in an estimated 275,000 to 315,000 total album-equivalent units.

The figure would not only be good enough for Beyoncé to supplant Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, but it would also mark her seventh consecutive solo album to debut at the top of the chart.

    Beyoncé’s previous No. 1’s are: 2003’s Dangerously In Love, 2006’s B’Day, 2008’s I Am…Sasha Fierce, 2011’s 4, 2013’s Beyoncé and 2016’s Lemonade.

Since its release on Friday (July 29), Renaissance has proven to be a dominant figure on streaming services. The album has already become Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day by a female artist and is expected to outperform expectations with 170 million plays in the United States alone.

Bey’s previous effort, Lemonade, bowed at No. 1 with over 485,000 total album-equivalent units earned, even with its unorthodox Saturday release.

The lead-up to Renaissance was more of a traditional album rollout in comparison to Bey’s back-to-back surprise releases in 2013 and 2016. The album’s lead single “Break My Soul” was initially teased on Instagram before being released in June.

After the album prematurely leaked overseas and was subsequently uploaded to the internet, Beyoncé posted a message on Friday to acknowledge the leak and thank fans for having the patience to enjoy the album as it was intended.

“So, the album leaked, and you all actually waited until the proper release time so you all can enjoy it together,” she wrote. “I’ve never seen anything like it. I can’t thank y’all enough for your love and protection. I appreciate you for calling out anyone that was trying to sneak into the club early. It means the world to me. Thank you for your unwavering support. Thank you for being patient.”

She added: “We are going to take our time and enjoy the music. I will continue to give my all and do my best to bring you joy. I love you deep.”

On Thursday (July 28), Kelis called out Beyoncé and her former producers The Neptunes for sampling her music without proper credit on the song “Energy.” Her comments came while dismissing a fan’s belief of the song being a collaboration between the two singers, saying it was a “direct hit” to her and done out of spite by Pharrell Williams.

    1. typical beyonce move. her album got leaked. shes sad. album gets released the whole industry rushes to support her trash work. shes the defintion of played tf out.

      1. The fact that at your big age you feel confident enough to hate on someone you dont know for whatever reason is ridiculously embarrassing, what is it with this weird hate on beyonce, she doesn’t do Internet arguments, she doesn’t bash anyone, she legit minds her business and focuses on her private life and releases her music. This album was objectively at least a solid 8/10, production was incredibly, vocals were incredible, songs were fun and had a cohesive flow with diverse genre and it was feel good instead of complex and serious lemonade which for me personally I liked and needed, you don’t work with beyonce to know any typical moves, albums get leaked, it happens all the time

        1. Yeah no. Not a fan of this album except for the disco tracks. I hated the electronic production. But I generally hate EDM stuff anyways. The lyrics were okay but controversial and offensive to many.

      1. its different now cos back then there was only physicals. if there are no streaming services she’s double plat out the gate.

      2. That’s because it’s not massive not even by today’s standard. Those number are good, but definitely not massive. The numbers are honestly modest compared to the hype they put on Beyonce. I listen to the album and like it except for a few songs.
who ever does her production is on another level. Song writting could have been a little better.

        1. Actually today’s standard which is around 50k this numbers are high, adele had a 6 year intense hype build up, beyonce released multiple side projects like the gift and everything is love which kept her fans busy so although they are excited, it isn’t the same excitement like 30 so beyonce’s number for today’s standard are very high, just like how self titled selling 617k first week was high for 2013 standards, it simply depends, the streams, radio play and singles charting are doing very well so this era is definitely not a flop

          1. Today’s standards aren’t 50k. There are plenty of artists who sell 500000 plus albums in the first week to this day.

          2. You are just lying and making things up. Top artists today easily sell over 500000 plus albums in the first week.
Beyoncé’s sales have dwindled rapidly over the past decade compared to her peak in 2002.
