Benzino Continues Dissing Eminem Over ‘Trash’ 2Pac Album: ‘That Was A Disgrace’

Benzino hasn’t run out of steam with his renewed Eminem-bashing just yet, and this time he’s bringing 2Pac into it.

In a new interview clip with The Art of Dialogue published on Friday (February 23), he harshly criticized Em’s production work on the 2004 posthumous album, Loyal to the Game, which put new Slim Shady beats on previously unreleased 2Pac vocals.

“I think the shit that he did with ‘Pac was horrible,” Zino said. “I think that was a disgrace.”

The former co-owner of The Source continued: “I think he should have never had ‘Pac’s lyrics to do it. I understand at the time, Afeni [Shakur], maybe it was a money thing. He probably paid for that, because that there was the closest that he would be to Pac.

“But that was another insult on our culture and community, what he did with that album. That was trash … He should have never got the okay to play with Pac’s voice like that, and his legacy.”

Listen to his comments at the 2:09 mark below:

The renewal of Eminem and Benzino’s long-running beef, which dates back to the early aughts, began when Em took aim at Benzino on “Doomsday Pt. 2” in late January.

On the track, the self-proclaimed Rap God mocks his rival’s financial woes and physical stature.

Over a sample of his classic hit, “Role Model,” the Detroit MC raps: “Now I got a riddle, one condition, you mustn’t laugh/ What is the opposite of Benzino? A giraffe/ ‘Go at his neck,’ how the fuck is that?/ How can I go at somethin’ he doesn’t have?”

The “I got a riddle” construction comes from a much earlier Eminem diss of Benzino titled “Armageddon” from the 2004 mixtape, Invasion Part III: Countdown to Armageddon.

Benzino hit back with two separate diss songs, “Vulturius” and “Rap Elvis.”

Earlier this month, he broke down while discussing the feud during a Drink Champs interview. Just days later, he was back to his old ways, calling Em “overrated” and saying: “I think he sucks as a rapper.”

Benzino isn’t the only person to criticize Em for Loyal to the Game as Suge Knight is no fan of the project, either.

In an episode of Collect Call With Suge Knight from Dave Mays’ Breakbeat Media last month, the former Death Row Records boss talked to Katt Williams about loyalty, the music business and working out, among several other topics.

During their chat, the 58-year-old also discussed all the people trying to get a piece of ‘Pac following his demise, and the one record that turned out poorly as a result.

“A lot of people been wanting to do songs with ‘Pac and some people even did some shit with ‘Pac,” he said. “There was only one 2Pac project that ever flopped before, and that’s the one Eminem did on all the releases. All the rest of them were successful.”

    1. Quit crying, bumzino. Em mentioned this fool for aprox 45 seconds in a song, nearly 2 months ago. This no-neck, gremlin looking grandpa has been roid raging every day since lol

      1. Haha Em stans getting upset. They go all out to defend him. Anyway Em screwed up 2pac album. Why producers like DJ Quik, Dr. Dre, Dj Premier, just Blaze, Scot Storch weren’t used no one will know ? Em can definitely rap, but boosie right no one playing his music in the hood or the clubs and his production suck

      2. U thinking I’m mad at bumzino in any way is hysterical. I laugh at that mutant turtle jackass. And where’d you see me defend that album, Dumbo? Most posthumous albums are trash

    2. This is one instant, that I will side with Ben-cheapo. Ems dope, but his production suuuuuucks. Nas using Ems production on The Cross off the Godson album? Unforgivable. That’s the one joint that hinders that album, production wise, as amazing as the album is. But Em can flow. His camp just needs to hold a meeting, and tell him that maybe diversifying into production ain’t his thing, and maybe he should stick to rhyming, which he’s top shelf status.

      1. sure not all his production is great, but he did produce the majority of the songs on 2 of his best albums….thats says alot…his type of beats just didnt mesh well with Pacs style.

    3. Makes me laugh how people wanna talk shit but fact is Afeni ain’t here no more and judging by past quotes from her she would’ve undoubtedly stuck up for Em… most people wanna jump on the bandwagon and shit on Ems production and the use of messing around with Pacs voice but they don’t know what the objective was… Afeni had been very open in previous statements that the criteria given to Em was ‘make an album where it could be Pac spitting as if it’s actually 04 and he’s still alive and his style has changed with the times’ so of course the cadences and tones had to be changed so to avoid the likely opinion that would’ve been aimed at Em had he just stuck to the previous formula of just regurgitating the same old verses over beats from 96 that no one wanted in the first place so dude just done the best with the objectives asked of him!! It seems crazy that people get all upset about the pitch or speed being turned up when fact is that’s something that people have been doing on remixes and reworks since the beginning of recorded music!!! If musicians or singers from history got upset every time their music or voice was sped up or pitch changed for the benefit of a sample etc then hip hop may never have existed in the first place!!! And fuck me, if you think Loyal to the Game is bad then what the hell is Pacs Life!!!

    4. Pac’s mother personally selected Eminem for this album. Eminem also produced the album for free and was featured on it for free. Whether you like him or not, that’s a respectable gesture.

    5. ghetto gospel was dope. then again most of the track were remix. you can listen to original version / unreleased version on youtube lol
em gave afeni and og producer money and dope move from em

    6. Afeni selected Eminem for the project and there was a lot of mutual respect between the two of them as proven in letters that were made public. He also did the work out of love, no money was exchanged. If you think it was an objectively bad album, that’s fine. However if you think it was an attack on the culture or 2pac’s legacy you’re an absolute idiot that’s completely ignorant to context. Benzino keeps yelling about the “culture” yet the irony is that nobody seems to be taking his side.

    7. And this vertically challenged no neck beta bitch is STILL going on and on about Eminem. Even if Eminem’s diss was as bad as some claim-HE WON.
