Belly Opens Up About Battle With Depression & PTSD

Belly has opened up about his struggles with depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.

In an Instagram post shared on the Palestinian-Canadian rapper’s birthday (April 7), Belly revealed how mentally and physically difficult a time he’s had in recent years.

“The last couple years have been fucked up for me in almost every way,” he wrote. I’ve been in and out of therapy for over a year(depression, PTSD). I gotta do physical therapy twice a week (back/neck injuries) and I can’t even tour or travel too much. I got put on anti-depressants (I’m off now) lost my confidence & regained most of the weight that I lost.”

Belly also explained how reaching a low point helped him see the light at the end of the tunnel.

“Emotionally, mentally & physically, I was rock bottom. I crashed and burned..” he added. “The only silver lining in this whole situation, is that UP is the only direction left to go. This shit is all I got, if anything can bring me back from the ashes; it’s music, my family & my fans.

“I don’t need sympathy or pity from anybody. I’m only saying this to let y’all know: I won’t lay down and die.. see you next Wednesday.”

    1. Wow..just wow..French Montana Doesn’t need to change his name to Belly just because he put on a few..hundred pounds…..

    2. PTSD from what though? This guy had been a famous rapper since I was in high school (34 now). I remember seeing his house on MTV Cribs Canada. He must have had rich parents or an Industry connect cause he was never that talented, even by canadian standards
