Asian Doll stood up for her fellow female rappers after Hitmaka stirred the pot recently and claimed he’s tired of women only rapping about sex and their body.

Over the weekend, the mega-producer hopped on Twitter to announce he’s waiting for the day he can work with a female rapper that has bars and doesn’t partake in “Pussy rap.”

“Can’t wait to work with a pretty female rapper that’s strictly about bars to even the playing field,” he wrote. “Pussy rap was cool when it had shock value & was rare. Now it’s like every girl taking it there. It’s sum who aren’t but they need a hit producer 4 impact.”

The following day, Asian Doll popped up on Twitter with a message seemingly addressed to Hitmaka and his claims. According to Doll, she can’t understand why men care about what women are speaking about in their music and called out male rappers for rapping about the same topics over and over.

“I feel like why do n-ggas always worried bout what female rappers rap about? N-ggas been rapping bout the same thing since rap was invented.. ladies rap for the ladies not for you n-ggas & we running shit rn so let us be US! even tho I don’t only rap about my pussy still Stfu.”

Jermaine Dupri preached something similar to Hitmaka’s comments in 2019 during an appearance on Everyday Struggle where he said the culture is in an era of “stripper rappers.”

“For me, it’s like strippers rapping,” Dupri said at the time. “As far as rap goes, I’m not getting who is the best rapper. I’m getting, ‘Oh, you got a story about you dancing in the club, you got a story about you dancing in the club, you got a story about you dancing in the club.’ OK, all right.”

Cardi B had time for JD when she took to her Instagram and countered his claims with: “I have seen a lot of people saying nowadays female rappers only talk about their pu**y and now that Jermaine Dupri brought it up I’m going to say something. First of all, I rap about my pussy because she’s my best friend, and second of all, it’s because it seems like that’s what people want to hear.”

The “Up” rapper also praised the women who bar up but don’t necessarily get the recognition they deserve, such as Tierra Whack, Kamaiyah and Rapsody. According to Cardi, those women and more should get more press and air time on the radio.
