Ari Lennox Swears Off Interviews After Being Asked ‘If She Was Being Fucked Good’

Artists routinely have to participate in interviews with people to promote themselves and whatever they have going on at the moment. Ari Lennox recently did one that should’ve gone off without a hitch. But that wasn’t the case, and she may be done with interviews altogether.

Lennox was a guest on Podcast and Chill when host Macgyver’ MacG’ Mukwevho asked her a question that left the singer visibly uncomfortable. The South African podcast host is known for his controversial takes during interviews and this one was no different.

The wild conversation proved to be a breaking point for Lennox, who went to Twitter to announce she’s no longer doing interviews.

“And I’m never doing another interview again,” she wrote in a since-deleted tweet. “I been on this sober high for weeks. Genuine gratefulness and happiness. But then… men. Every time… never fails.”

Ari Lennox and MacG were speaking about “Pop,” one of her records on Shea Butter Baby, and the South African podcast host made a note to ask the Dreamville artist about the raunchy lyrics on the outro of the song. Those specific lyrics happen to be, “If you really love me/I’ll fuck you good/Fuck you good, fuck you good/Treat you how you should.”

MacG proceeded to push the button and ask if anyone is “fucking” Lennox good, which startled her. The podcast host defended himself by saying Lennox spoke similar words in her song. She was confused and tried to remember her lyrics before realizing she did say something along those lines.

Last month, Lennox did speak on her November 2021 arrest in Amsterdam. The Washington, D.C. native claimed she was racially profiled by security who “hate Black people” and targeted her at an airport. Lennox regretted her reaction to the “racism” brought on by police that day in her explanation.

Ari Lennox Adds Clarity To 'Racist' Arrest But Says She's Still 'Silenced'

“My only regret is my reaction to the racism and discrimination I experienced,” she confessed. “I would like to explain what happened to me but KLM has made it clear that they never cared to hear it from jump. It’s painful being silenced like this. It’s painful what I went through. I’m not OK.”

    1. So you can sing about it but you cant talk about it ? So sick of this new school culture. They too sensitive. Id rather listen to Fivo Foreign talking about how he likes eating pussy and ass. I see these celebrities as entertainment so they cant be boring.

      1. yeah bro but you’re an old dude living with his moms so who gives a fk bruh
time to get down to the cvs and get some fiber supplements or a hemmorhoid donut grandpa time

    2. When this story popped up , I was like..he is out of line to ask her that, but as I read the whole article and read thAt she sang about the sane thing and listened to the song, I felt she deserved that question. Why would she get mad because he asked her about something she is raunchy enough to sing about? Chile please!!! She ain’t famous enough to NOT do another interview. I never even knew who she was until this article popped up on my phone.

    3. So he asks her about something that she sings about in her songs herself? (explicit as it is) And she gets offended? But why..?

    4. People going on these podcasts that no one listens to and being surprised that they’re not professional is weird. People so hungry for fame, they’ll green light any media these days. Just DM them on Twitter basically.

    5. This irrelevant woman probably didn’t even write her own song, that’s why she forgot that specific part I’m sure. Lol girl no one wants you to do interviews, you are not a hot commodity.

    6. Funny how sooooo many women trying to defend her and said it was out of line, but also support WAP, Chloe’s Have Mercy, and allll of the other overly sexual, explicit songs from women. And then wanna act appalled with they get questions like that.

    7. Men in this comment section further showing how we just don’t get it. Singing about sex doesn’t mean you want to be asked about your current sex life in any way in every interview. But yah… people will continue to make extrapolations to justify a limited view on women and them expressing their sexuality.

    8. “But then…men” Lmao could she be more dramatic? Btw it wasn’t “men”, it was one man. Why we all guilty for one dumbass in South Africa? Fuck outta here.

    9. when you open certain doors of your life to the public, you can’t particularly be upset when people decide to walk in them. on a human level , i think we all understand why she’s upset. i feel it’s a harsh reality for women of the modern world to learn that the assets that they use for money fame or attention can be exploited to degrade them, but. such is life

    10. Ask a man about his sexual life. Is he going to get all overdramatic about this or just shrug it off? If you don’t like the question just don’t answer it and move on. You’re promoting a sexualy explicit song but get mad when asked about it. She’s right about not wanting to do any more interviews. If whoever is paying her is okay with that.
