The Alchemist has responded to fans’ requests for him to make an “introspective jazz album” with Young Thug now that the Atlanta rapper is out of jail.

This past weekend, a fan on X (formerly Twitter) wrote to the acclaimed producer during a Q&A with his followers: “Introspective jazz album with Young Thug needed.”

Soon after, The Alchemist responded and was on board with the idea, writing back: “Somebody send me his number i got u.”

The question has been part of a recurring meme on social media ever since Thugger agreed a plea deal in his YSL RICO case that secured his release from jail.

It stems from a viral post in November that said: “when Young Thug gets into his introspective bag, turns to jazz and makes a collab album with The Alchemist” next to a video of Vince Carter getting emotional at his Toronto Raptors jersey retirement ceremony.

Fans have since been taking the idea and running with it, creating hypothetical mash-ups and even fake cover art reminiscent of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak‘s Silk Sonic album.

While The Alchemist has been as prolific as ever in 2024, Young Thug has been quiet on the music front since his release from jail in late October.

However, it was recently speculated by Akademiks that the YSL rapper hit the studio with Future, Travis Scott and Lil Baby soon after his release.

The media personality said on his livestream: “Don’t ask me how I got the picture, but Young Thug has linked up in the studio with all these individuals. I gotta think they’re either still working on whatever’s coming out for Baby.”

He then joked: “I think this was the Avengers of n-ggas linking up. This was the ‘Fuck Gunna‘ Avengers.”

Young Thug has also been cooking up with both Metro Boomin and T.I. since he returned home.

In a post to his Instagram Story, Metro shared a look at his computer screen which featured a studio session for a song titled “Jeff Home,” referring to Thug’s real name, Jeffery.

Days earlier, Thugger reunited with one-time mentor T.I. and they also appeared to be working on something.

“Aye, man. What you gotta tell these people?” the Grand Hustle general asks Thug in a video they shared online, to which Thug replies: “Back, Jack [
] No cap in my rap. The right way.”
