Love Akademiks or hate him, he’s become a consistent news source for pop culture, especially Hip Hop. But some people have noticed his main Instagram page — which boasts over 4.7 million followers — has mysteriously vanished from the social media platform.
Even stranger, the outspoken media personality hasn’t addressed the Houdini act on Twitter nor his Twitch channel. Akademiks’ Instagram account has been deactivated before. In November 2021, his page was reportedly shadow banned by Instagram before it was removed completely.
Akademiks has had his share of drama on social media. Last month, the dormant beef between Akademiks and Hot 97 radio personality Peter Rosenberg was revived. As Megan Thee Stallion, Tory Lanez and Akademiks waged war over the felony shooting case, Rosenberg tweeted, “Akademiks talks a lot of trash for someone who would go broke in Twitch and YouTube got shut down. Barely surviving this ratio. lol Ak really got man fans for real.”
The former Everyday Struggle host hopped on Twitch and proceeded to lay into Rosenberg until he was screaming at the top of his lungs.
“Rosenberg, I probably made more this year on Spotify than you’ve made your entire career at Hot 97,” he said. “Bro, I’m on your ass … I don’t fuck with y’all n-ggas. Y’all been new. I never apologized to none of y’all. I ain’t fuck with y’all. I created my own shit, so good. I’m glad you said that. It’s on now, great! Perfect.”

Then there’s the ongoing beef between Akademiks and Freddie Gibbs, which came to a head in 2020. Gibbs went as far as making Teletubby t-shirts that said, “Fuck Akademiks!” but ultimately dismissed the entire feud as “corny.”
