Ab-Soul has made his long-awaited return with his new album Herbert, and he’s continuing the rollout with a brand new video for “Fomf” — check it out below.

The video — directed by Omar Jones and Onda — was unleashed on Friday (December 16) and finds the Carson, California native standing in a baseball field that’s packed with tons of fans cheering him and his Top Dawg Entertainment family on.

Joined by Jay Rock, Isaiah Rashad, Zacari, Reason, Ray Vaughn and more, Ab-Soul spits: “I’m in a league of my own/ Y’all need to leave it alone/ Imma just eat everything/ Imma just leave you the bones/ Call it an even exchange/ There ain’t no need to explain/ Yeah it should be over-stood/ Like when I hop in a plane/ And I fly over your hood/ Y’all should be knocking on wood.”

Produced by Boi-1da, “Fomf” is track five on Soulo’s new album. Schoolboy Q makes an appearance on the track assisting his TDE brother with the ad-libs.

Herbert was released on Friday (December 16) and features appearances by Lance Skiiiwalker, Joey Bada$$, Jhené Aiko, Big Sean, Sir and more. Ab-Soul’s last project came in 2016 with Do What Thou Wilt, which peaked at No. 9 and 34 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums and 200 chart, respectively.

With Herbert, Ab is going back to his foundation and giving listeners an intimate portrait of the man behind the rapper. One of the topics he touched on that has fans talking is a previous suicide attempt on the song “Do Better.”

In an interview with Charlamagne Tha God ahead of the release of his new album, Soulo detailed his suicide attempt explaining that he jumped off a freeway overpass in his hometown of Carson, California.

“I pretty much finished the album before I did what I did,” he said. “How I’m choosing to take it is — and I’m not giving it credit — but it brought me down to a place where I needed to be as vulnerable as possible, and as soon as I said everything I needed to say, I jumped.”

The TDE lyricist didn’t explain why he attempted suicide or when it happened exactly, he described feeling “lost” and went on to describe the injuries he suffered — and is still recovering from — as a result of the suicide attempt, revealing he was almost left unable to walk.

“I lost my teeth,” he said. “This is a flipper, I ain’t even got my implants yet. My jaw’s fucked up, I got a lot of work to do still. My foot is completely reconstructed, all the way to my pelvis. Everything but my knee. It doesn’t even make sense that my knee wasn’t affected. My femur, everything was affected except my knee.
