Earlier this week, Harlem upstart A$AP Rocky made headlines with his appearance as President John F. Kennedy in the video to singer Lana Del Rey’s “National Anthem.” Now, not 24 hours later, the duo are back in the limelight for their collaboration “Ridin'” – and Rocky’s not happy about it.
According to Complex, the A$AP Mob alum blasted the production duo behind the cut The KickDrums on Twitter for the leak of his long-touted track with Del Rey. He said that the version that hit the Internet is unofficial and incomplete, and that his verse was a freestyled reference track, not a properly written verse.
The Brooklyn-based duo responded to the rising Harlem rapper, saying that they aren’t behind the leak of “Ridin'” either. The single, which has since been renamed “My Bitch,” first appeared for free download on DDotOmen.com.
“Ridin'” was initially slated to appear on The KickDrums’s mixtape Follow the Leaders, but was cut as per request of Rocky so that he could add it to his debut LongLiveA$AP.

more diva shit from the pretty motherfucker
nigga it was their song to begin with, you had your label stop it from coming out to put on your album, that was wack
If you’re going to say it was “there song to begin with”, then you might as well say that every hip-hop song is the property of the producer and not the rapper/singer. Where you draw the line is really up in the air, and, to a large degree, based solely on marketing. Whose to say whether “Swagga Like Us” belongs to Jay, Ye, Wayne, TI. Its billed as Jay and TI, but technically Ye, as producer, put in 2/5ths the artistic work on it. (This is just an example).
You make it sound like he had his label strong arm them. He asked, and they were probably completely cool with it, as it will do more for them having that song on a commercial album by a (relatively) high profile artist, then to be on an obscure, free-to-download mixtape.
He ain’t being a diva. He was rightfully angry. To be sure, he, out of ignorance, directed his hatred in the wrong direction, but he made a logical assumption.
@Kid…..great point….eloquently presented…
Damn.. intelligence response on HHDX??
I don’t think the producers leaked it. They would lose money since it was slated to be on an album.
