A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Delays Album Release To Avoid Competing With Drake & 21 Savage

The Drake effect has levels to it. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie announced on Monday (October 31) that he’ll be pushing his album back to December in order to not have a sales showdown on the charts against Drake and 21 Savage’s Her Loss

“Sorry but Album dropping in December now, Drake was dropping same day and I’m not with that #HOODIESZN,” he wrote with a series of laughing emojis on his Instagram Story.

The Bronx rapper’s Me vs. Myself album is now slated to arrive on December 9 and includes previously released singles such as “24 Hours” featuring Lil Durk and “B.R.O.” alongside Roddy Ricch.

A Boogie hopes to land his second No. 1 album atop the Billboard 200 as long as no other A-listers storm his release date again.

The Drake invasion came a bit out of nowhere after he and 21 Savage announced their Her Loss joint project would be delayed on short notice from October 28 to November 4 after the 6 God’s go-to producer Noah “40” Shebib contracted COVID-19 last week, which forced the push back.

Drizzy and 21 also graced the cover of the latest issue of Vogue, which hit magazine stands on Monday (October 31).

The 6 God debuted the Vogue cover on his Instagram with a post on Sunday (October 30).

“Me and my brother on newsstands tomorrow,” he wrote. “Thanks @voguemagazine and Anna Wintour for the love and support on this historic moment Her Loss Nov 4th.”

Although, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie spoke to HipHopDX to close out 2021 at Rolling Loud California where he voiced that he wouldn’t settle for anything less than the top spot.

“I’m definitely one of those top guys now,” A Boogie said inside his trailer. “I’m not where I want to be yet, but you already know what I’m going for. Number one, and we’re not settling for anything less. I used to settle for less because I never had that goal to look all the way up there, but now that we looking up there, it’s looking scary for a lot of people.”

    1. Why is everyone ducking and dodging each other now? Drake and 21 pushed their album back because of RiRi (not buying that COVID story) and now this fool moving his album back to not compete with them. Everyone’s being too nice to each other instead of competing.

      1. It’s not about being nice. Drake and 21 know they won’t beat Rihanna on the charts, so they’re moving out the way so they can get another number 1 on a different week. As well as B tier Boogie knows he won’t beat Drake and 21, so he’s getting out the way to have a chance. And if Adele or Taylor dropped the same week, Rihanna would move out the way too.
