70% Of Murdered Rappers’ Cases Remain Unsolved

XXL conducted an investigation into the status of every murdered rapper in Hip Hop history. Of the 52 criminal cases investigated, a staggering 36 (or 69.2%) remain unsolved, which correlates to a 30% clearance rate.

“To put that number in perspective,” XXL writes before continuing, “NPR reported this March that the national ‘clearance rate’ for homicides in the United States stands at 64.1 percent. Those numbers are so far apart they’d almost be laughable if they weren’t so sobering.”

The publication followed up on the murders of Scott La Rock, 2Pac, Biggie, Kilo-G, Yella Boi, Freaky Tah, Lil Snupe, Jam Master Jay, among others.

Detroit emcee Dex Osama is the most recent rapper whose murder still remains unsolved. Osama was shot and killed outside of a strip club on September 8, 2015.

    1. I wonder why oh wait niggas and they stop snitching bullshit like they believe in vigilante justice .but never do shit

    2. No..its society not caring about black people. Just like how cops get away with murdering black children. Cops and or higher authority are either involved directly with the rappers being murdered, has some kind of ties to some cases or they flat out just dont care.

      1. Actually, it’s because of the streets code of silence. It’s the code of silence that invites criminals to take over and control black communities through fear, directly contributing to the death of black people on a massive scale.

    3. Here’s a couple solved: 2Pac was murdered by Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson a well known member of the South Side Compton Crips. Biggie was murdered by Wardell “Poochie” Fouse a well known member of the East Side Mob Bompton Pirus. Baby Lane along with Zip, Corey, Dre, Kefe D, T. Brown all South Side Compton Crips were hired by Puffy to be security for him and Bad Boy when they were in LA. Poochie along with Buntry, Bob Gotti, Mob James, Timmy Ru, Red, Hen Dog, Lemp Dog, Tray, Lil Mo, Big Rock, Heron were all Mob Pirus that grew up with Suge and they treated PAC like one of their own.

    4. Let’s keep it one hunnid, gun crimes rarely ever get solved unless the shooter dropped some kind of evidence which is unlikely unless he one of those young wannabes. Growing up I dont kno too many people getting locked up shooting someone unless someone snitched
