50 Cent has been vocal about his frustrations with the STARZ network, home to his popular television shows Black Mafia Family, Power Book II: Ghost and Power Book IV: Force, among others. With the Force finale scheduled for April 17, 50 Cent is trying to figure out what his next move is.
On Tuesday (April 12), the television executive posted an Instagram video of a UFC fight in an attempt to illustrate what he’s going through with STARZ. As he suggested in the caption, the 46-year-old mogul is attempting to buy his shows back, so he can possibly shop them to other networks.
“Everybody ready to work, I’m trying to buy my universe back from STARZ so it goes where ever i go,” he wrote. “Only 5 months left in my deal, and i’m not on the air for 6 months so We Out!”
50 Cent started airing out the STARZ network in March with multiple Instagram posts in which he threatened to leave.
Using an Instagram video of a man packing his suitcase, Fiddy wrote, “This is me packing my stuff, STARZ. Sucks, my deal is up over here I’m out. They renewed High Town, and FORCE is the highest rated show they have sitting in limbo. If I told you how much dumb shit I deal with over here, you would think they all went to school on a small yellow bus.”
The posts arrived shortly after 50 Cent bragged about how successful his time with STARZ has been in another Instagram post.
“G-Unit Film & TV produces the Top 4 series in African American households (Force, Ghost, Raising Kanan, BMF),” he wrote at the time. “BMF was the biggest direct to consumer premiere via the Starz app. Force was the biggest premiere for Starz in the network’s entire history.
“Total of 21 shows across 9 different networks. 8 shows produced/in production/greenlit to production in 2022 increasing to a minimum of 10 in 2023.”
He also talked about the other endeavors G-Unit Film & Television has in the works, adding, “Additional 35 series projects (23 scripted and 12 unscripted) in development at G-Unit Film & Television.
“Of the shows sold, 15 are dramas, 2 are comedies and 4 are unscripted. 12 feature films in development at G-Unit in various stages (including DC’s XERO and 3BlackDot backed horror slate). Just started production on our first of two podcasts greenlit on the G-Unit Audio slate launching in 2022.”
He just like to throw temper tantrums and say shit for publicity. If he had enough money to even think about buying those shows, he wouldn’t have needed Starz in the first place. Stop it 50.
Dam it’s always someone knocking another person down you don’t know what all he has to go through. It’s always a legal actions first. So we all as the public know 50 can do what ever her wants it’s his shit and not yours so fall back and keep supporting him on all of his shows. Well done 50
It’s always easy to criticize when you are not in the victims shoes. When you are building something good, something successful, wait and let some people destroy it for you just because you don’t want to throw temper publicly.
50″Do u don’t mind what other think they are not paying your way.
Your show’s outstanding I love all of them so please give us a good work very impressive and don’t like these sore losers bring you down
Is it just me but I’ve been on a marathon watching Power and I keep waiting for 50 to get killed off. He plays a heartless murderer. I found out it’s His show so I guess his character ain’t never going to die. Smh
Nah your wrong he dies after tariq fucks him over
His character is dead ma’am….killed a few summers ago.
Holy $#!+ you’re behind..
I love 50 and all his shows he came out with was the bomb. We dont know what goes on behind the scenes @ 50 keep doing what you doing and I pray it works out for you. I didnt miss any of your shows my loyalty is to you.
50 should pull from Starz. They take too long to show his shows anyway. We as fans don’t want to wait 6 months for the next series. Starz trying to milk us so we will keep subscribing. After Force I will end my subscription until it comes back with another 50 series. Follow Court to Netflix and let them make some money.
