3rd Bass’s Prime Minister Pete Nice Pleads Guilty To Tax Fraud

    3rd Bass rapper Prime Minister Pete Nice pled guilty to misdemeanor criminal tax fraud, according to Billboard.

    The rapper, whose given name is Peter Nash, did not pay state income taxes in 2009, 2010 and 2011, according to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.

    He is scheduled to be sentenced August 26; must pay $13,101 to the state in back taxes, penalties and interest; and will be on probation for three years.

    Prime Minister Pete Nice was one of two rappers in 3rd Bass. The other was MC Serch. 

    The group, which also included DJ Daddy Rich, released The Cactus Album in 1989, which featured the singles “The Gas Face” and “Steppin’ To The A.M.”

    In 1991, the trio released Derelicts Of Dialect album, which featured the hit single “Pop Goes The Weasel.”
