03 Greedo had some kind words for Lil Uzi Vert after recently revealing the Philly rapper was among those who held him down during his recent prison bid.

In 2018, 03 Greedo was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to gun and drug charges in Texas. Initially projected for release in 2026, the rapper became eligible for parole in 2020, with a maximum sentence year of 2038. He was released in early January after serving five years of his sentence.

During a recent interview with the Millon Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, 03 Greedo discussed his rise to fame, serving time, and how his success has changed the people around him.

Hosts Gillie Da Kid and Wallo asked him if his peers kept in touch, and held him down while he served his time, and he named one rapper in particular: Lil Uzi Vert.

According to Greedo, Uzi “did the whole time with him.” (Let it be known, Lil Uzi Vert is non-binary and goes by they/them pronouns). “Even sometimes [when] he’d be busy, he would hurry up and get back to me,” he said.

The rapper even recalled a time when Uzi sent him $10,000 for commissary money after he simply reached out to see how his friend was doing. “I’m just seeing how are you,” he said.

“I ain’t say I’m down bad [or anything], [and] that n-gga sent me 10 bands,” Greedo continued. “Like ‘[just in case] for anytime I can’t answer n-gga, [you] better dig out this bitch-ass pot. I ain’t gone treat you like my girl.'”

“Uzi a little shit talking little n-gga,” he added. “I expected so much different from him. That’s my lil bro.”

Following his release, Greedo revealed to fans that his newfound “freedom” had some constraints, and that he would have to spend up to six months inside a halfway house with only one five-minute call each week.

The rapper made it clear, however, he had no plans on slowing down and promised to “flood the rap game” with several projects before his next studio album to make up for lost time.

“Yes, I am free from prison but I am still not completely out,” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “For anyone confused I am in a halfway house for up to 6 months with a five minute phone call a week. Where I am I just want to see my daughter and record music. I wish I could have released alot more music while I was away.”

He seems to have kept his promise. In the days leading up to his release from prison, he released a project fittingly titled Free 03.
