According to a familiar cliché, a picture is worth a thousand words. Your favorite celebrities—including rappers—are doing less and less press, but uckily their thumbs and smartphones still work. Instagram has provided a way for them to document their lives and/or thoroughly embarrass themselves for our collective enjoyment. The beauty of it all is that you don’t even need to join Instagram, as most rappers are perfectly fine leaving their feeds open for public viewing. And if you’d rather avoid the IG life altogether, we’ve filtered through the top rapper’s pictures and videos and consolidated all the week’s events into one convenient feed.
This week, Nicki Minaj returns with bikini flicks, 50 Cent showcases the artwork for Animal Ambition and Snoop and Daz put Bow Wow in a kush coma for his birthday. Check the rest of the week’s top Instagram posts below.
Snoop & Daz Put Bow Wow In A Kush Coma
AD LOADING...
He’s been doing this for over 20 years, and one of his first major label appearances was on an album you may have heard of named The Chronic. That means you’re not going to out-smoke Snoop Dogg. Bow Wow got a reminder on his birthday, when Snoop Dogg and Daz Dillinger helped him celebrate with some herbal refreshment. The result? Bow Wow got horizontal for an undisclosed amount of time, as someone grabbed his phone and documented the occasion on Instagram. It’s safe to say the candles on his birthday cake weren’t the only thing lit during Bow Wow’s birthday celebration.
50 Cent Releases Animal Ambition Artwork
Can you believe 50 Cent hasn’t released a retail album since 2009’s Before I Self Destruct? In 2013 there was talk of Fif dropping the long-awaited Street King Immortal album. There was even the infamous “New Day” single and a press run, but alas, no album. Having secured what was widely reported as an amicable split from his initial Shady/Aftermath/Interscope deal, 50 is preparing to release his Animal Ambition album June 3 via his new deal with Capitol Records. This time around, there’s official artwork to boot—which 50 Cent shared via his Instagram account.

Nicki Minaj Vacations In Mexico
While south of the border, Nicki Minaj turns her beach vacation into a mini photoshoot, starring her teeny tiny polka dot bikini. The Young Money queen strikes a pose for her followers by a balcony that faces the ocean, sharing a sweet view that might easily spark jealousy as you’re laying on your living room couch. Nicki spent most of her Cabo vacation on a boat, soaking up sun and taking pictures. Just like any bodacious tourist would.
Lil Boosie “BoosieSpeaks” Press Conference
AD LOADING...
Atlantic Records and friends welcomed Lil Boosie back in the public eye with a live-streamed press conference, hosted by Angela Yee. Nothing screams “WELCOME BACK” more than a lavish gold throne with a white quilted leather seat, well, maybe two thrones might. Boosie, who at that time had never taken a selfie, was thrown into the ringer and asked a variety of questions ranging from new music to life in prison. If you missed the conference, we got you covered here.
TDE Private Jet Flexin’
West Coast’s favorite record label Top Dawg Entertainment had a few performers out in Austin, Texas for SXSW and of course, they took to the air in style. Jay Rock stands strong at the bottom of the staircase (with a private plane a few feet behind him, no big deal) while the rest of the crew throws in a quick pose for their flossy flick. In case you didn’t attend the music conference, Isaiah Rashad and SZA linked for a quick performance at Fader Fort (click here) and ScHoolboy Q tore up the stage at the iTunes SXSW Festival (click here).

Wiz Khalifa & Amber Rose “Shit On SXSW”
“Shittin on sxsw.” That’s how Amber Rose felt when she shared this lovely group picture of her and hubby Wiz Khalifa sporting matching outfits (different colors, though) at SXSW. I know what you’re wondering. Does their son Sebastian have a matching outfit too? Well, hate to burst your bubble, but this specific set is only made for adults. It’s Joyrich’s “Rich Fontgram” knit crew and shorts. I’m specifically sharing in case you’re boyfriend/girlfriend’s birthday is coming up and you were unsure of what to get them. Love hath no greater bond than matching knits.
Jay Z & Kanye West Reunite As The Throne At SXSW
AD LOADING...
Who was at SXSW? Oh, just Jay Z and Kanye West. On the same stage. Performing (almost) the same set list that they performed when they toured together in 2012 on the Watch The Throne tour. Samsung’s SXSW showcase was completely taken over by The Throne and we’ve got the Instagram to prove it. Of course, Samsung is the only smarthphone-making company that can pull this off after partnering with Jay Z in 2013 to release Magna Carta…Holy Grail. If you want to relive The Throne performing “Ni**as In Paris” once more, click here for concert footage.
Nardwuar Interviews Ludacris At SXSW
With a ton of artists centralized in one city, radio-personality-and-interviewer-extraordinaire Nardwuar comes in to cause chaos and snatch up as many interviews as he can. On his Instagram, he’s given us a glimpse of who he’s had the chance to chat with (ScHoolboy Q, Isaiah Rashad, Bushwick Bill) and we’re definitely excited to hear what kind of back history Nardwuar dives in to in his chat with Luda. Does Luda know he doesn’t stand a chance against this man? Nardwuar knows everything.

A-Trak & Cam’ron Cover Complex
When Cam’s not making fashion-forward capes, he’s busy making music with A-Trak. Cam’ron and A-Trak are currently working on an EP titled Federal Bar that is executive produced by Dame Dash. Posed as top secret agents, the duo cover the latest issue of Complex which has Jhené Aiko also on the cover on the backside. As for Federal Bar, expect to hear longtime Cam’ron collaborator Just Blaze provide contributions to the sonic environment of the project.
Lil Wayne Joins CRWN At SXSW
AD LOADING...
Elliott Wilson had his latest CRWN interview live at SXSW and Lil Wayne was the one chosen for the hot spot. Weezy has been showing his face a lot more in public to promote Young Money’s album Rise Of An Empire (out on iTunes now). In between Weezy Wednesdays and the upcoming Carter V, Lil Wayne is not wasting time in 2014. “I personally plan on this being my final solo album, yes, and it’s definitely the final Carter album,” said Weezy in an interview with MTV. Hopefully this CRWN interview adds more insight to Wayne’s announcement.
