Eminem’s ‘Godzilla’ Joins Spotify Billion Streams Club

Eminem has once again joined Spotify’s Billions Club, this time for his 2020 track “Godzilla.”

The Juice WRLD-assisted track recorded a billion streams on the streaming service on Monday (October 10), which marks the Detroit rapper’s sixth song to surpass this mark.

Eminem’s latest achievement comes shortly after his Rihanna collab “Love The Way You Lie” hit the milestone in July, which followed “The Real Slim Shady” soaring past a billion streams in June. “Without Me” hit the mark in January.

“Godzilla” is also the late Juice WRLD’s forth song to enter the Billions Club, following “Lucid Dreams,” “All Girls are the Same” and “Robbery.”

The Music To Be Murdered By single was special because Eminem reportedly broke the world record for the fastest rap verse when he dropped the track.

According to Genius, the verse outpaced “Rap God” and his feature on Nicki Minaj’s “Majesty.” On the song, Eminem managed to spit 224 words, equaling a total of 330 syllables. That works out to an average of 10.65 syllables per second, or 7.23 words per second.

Eminem recently penned an extensive op-ed for XXL, in which he reflected on all the highs and lows of his career.

“All I ever really wanted to do was to be a respected MC,” the rap legend said. “To make enough money to survive, so that I wouldn’t have to work a regular job. That ties into my competitive spirit, and I don’t know when that’s going to go away, if ever. That’s probably my biggest weapon mixed with lyricism.”

Eminem has given numerous reflective interviews like this since the release of his latest greatest hits compilation Curtain Call 2, which boasted a collection of tracks from Em’s Relapse days in 2009 up to 2020’s Music To Be Murdered By. “Godzilla” was included in the compilation.

    1. “Nobody listens to Eminem” as his songs are streamed over a billion times and his albums chart higher and longer than most of these dudes that people “listen to”.

          1. That’s not how quotes work. It has to be the actual words somebody said. For example, “Your booty is heavy duty, like diarrhea.” -Eminem

    2. Can’t wait for people to say that white kids probably listen to Eminem’s songs a hundred times and black people don’t listen to them at all.

    3. this rapidity rap lyrical shmyrical is so tired. remember when he actually made good songs and wasn’t trying to be the tech n9ne of corny dad joke punchlines?
