Bobby Shmurda could finally be home soon. Rowdy Rebel took to Instagram on Wednesday (February 17) to let everyone know he expects his GS9 brother to be released from prison on February 23, if all goes according to plan in the coming days.
He wrote in the caption, “SIX DAYS LFET Then all the joy gone wash away the pain, I promise you brother #stillfreegs9 #freeskrap1090.”
According to a New York jail inmate lookup, Shmurda — born Ackquille Pollard — earned himself a conditional release date of February 23. He was previously denied parole by a judge in September 2020. Upon regaining his freedom, the “Hot N*gga” rapper’s file also states he’ll be under post-release supervision for the next five years.
Shmurda was originally arrested in late 2014 on conspiracy, drug and weapons charges for his alleged role in Brooklyn’s GS9 gang activity. Shmurda was sentenced to seven years behind bars and is currently being held inside New York’s Clinton Correctional Facility.
Rebel was released from the Ogdensburg Correction Facility in December 2020, just a couple of months ahead of his close friend and collaborator. The “Computers” rapper was one of the 14 GS9 members arrested in December 2014 by the NYPD.
Rebel has kept busy since regaining his freedom. On February 12, he teamed up with NAV for the release of “Jesse Owens.”

SnitchNine diss track imminent
no he will probably just mind his own business and enjoy his freedom. seeing as he will still be under conditions and he’s really not trying to go back over something that doesn’t involve him. And Isn’t Bobby the original SnitchNine? Didn’t he tell on his whole crew in that one song? Names and crimes!
Out of all the “drill” to come out of NY, this guy did it the best IMO. I hope he can make some dope music and stay out of trouble. Enjoy your freedom mang! Avoid the fuck shit.
And stop self snitching on himself and his crew so he can stay free.
Can he even make a comeback now ? Rappers are singing, If you close to 30 you considered old, theres a new rapper every week, and a new dead rapper every month. I cant see him doing more that one album and a few features to get over younger rappers. Too much culture change for him to have the mainstream run he never really had.
Got a point there
Bobby did the opposite of Tekashi, he showed loyalty and solidarity with his people which in the rap music game is enough to gain a crowd automatically, hes guaranteed to go platinum for that simple fact.
