Bobby Shmurda could be granted an early prison release later in February and his GS9 brother Rowdy Rebel is among Shmurda’s friends, family and fans counting down the seconds until he regains his freedom once again. Rebel saluted the “Hot N-gga” rapper with a heartfelt post to Instagram Monday (February 8) where he reflected on this point in his life.
“I wouldn’t be here RN if yu Haven’t been the same genuine person I meet in elementary,” he wrote. “I never Seen yu fold or bend through treacherous time’s always thinking Nd doing for others.”
The Brooklyn native continued, “thank god I got a friend like you I could call a brother I love yu like yu My Mama Kids ….see yu soon kid.”
On January 4, The New York Timesreported that Bobby Shmurda — born Ackquille Jean Pollard — would be up for conditional release on February 23.

He had previously been denied parole in September 2020 and was originally arrested in late 2014 on conspiracy, drug and weapons charges for his alleged role in Brooklyn’s Gs9 gang activity. Shmurda was sentenced to seven years behind bars and is currently being held inside New York’s Clinton Correctional Facility.
Rebel, who was released from prison in December 2020, reuniting with Shmurda should make for a special moment in Brooklyn’s rap scene. One person who’s also expecting a major comeback upon his release is Shmurda’s mother.
“My #MCM….. I am counting down just wishing we could run straight to February right quick,” Leslie Pollard wrote in January. “The come back wil be Epic!!! I can’t wait to hug my child it had been almost a year anxiety is getting the best of me.”
