Bushwick Bill’s Son Wishes The Best For Willie D — Despite Slanderous VladTV Interview

Losing a parent is like having your heart ripped out from your chest, something Bushwick Bill’s son Javon Boutte understands all too well. Last month, the 23-year-old had to watch his father take his last breath after losing his battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Since Bushwick’s passing, there’s been controversy swirling around his name after Willie D sat down for an interview with VladTV. Rather than discuss the legacy they built together as the Geto Boys, Willie painted a portrait of a drug addict who made poor business decisions.

He also admitted he didn’t attend Bushwick or DJ Ready Red’s funerals, claiming he didn’t feel welcome.

But Boutte isn’t letting it get to him.

“I didn’t take heed to him or acknowledge him at all,” he tells HipHopDX. “My uncle told me go ahead and just see what he’s saying since he’s mentioning my name. I just basically saw a lot of things that were not facts. I was there with my dad over these last several months — from everything that led up to when he got sick and to him passing.

“A lot of things were invalid. When it comes to speaking on somebody in general and the fact that he’s not here anymore, I feel like if you going to say something, at least let it be positive. If you’re going to speak on it, at least let it be facts.”

Shortly after Bushwick told TMZ Live (and the world) he was sick, the Geto Boys announced The Beginning of a Long Goodbye Tour,  which was intended to be their final reunion run. But a day before it was scheduled to begin, Bushwick canceled. In his gut, he knew he’d die on the road.

“The Geto Boys reunion tour was going to start May 24,” he says. “My dad was admitted to the hospital May 23 in Texas. He could barely even walk. Basically, he got walking pneumonia from chemo. They gave my dad chemo on top of pneumonia, which made him even sicker.

“My dad was so sick, but he was literally just trying to put shows together and work. Right after chemo sessions, he’d head straight to the studio. I was in the studio with him for like 23 hours sessions. While I was falling asleep tired, he’d get on me and be like, ‘You got to be up. We got to work.’ He was that determined to finish that project. The man barely slept.”

Boutte says Bushwick made the conscious decision to quit taking the chemotherapy treatments. His father believed they were actually making him deteriorate faster.

“He stopped doing chemo on his own because he felt his body getting weaker and worse,” he explains. “He was like, ‘Man, I don’t feel right.’ That fourth chemo session he didn’t do because he felt like it was killing him, which was true. That Monday he went to the hospital and admitted himself. They said he had walking pneumonia.”

“If he would of did that show on May 24, he actually would havedied on the road, which would of been his last show. That’s why he didn’t like the title [of the tour] because he actually would of died on the road. He was that sick.”

But Boutte doesn’t want to spread any negativity. In fact, he wants nothing but the best for Willie.

“I would honestly just tell him, ‘God bless’ and I wish him peace within,” he says. “There were so many things my dad was doing before he passed that he couldn’t finish. I’m gonna focus on making sure my legacy and my whole family’s legacy my dad created is going to continue in a positive manner, which he worked hard for 30 plus years to do.”

For now, Boutte — who goes by Yung Knxw — is focused on releasing his collaborative project with his father, The Seed Of Chucky, Bushwick’s posthumous solo single, his own solo material and the Bushwick Bill documentary.

Check back next week for Part II of the Javon Boutte interview.

    1. That’s a solid story man…respect to Bushwick and his family….no hands thrown at Willie D either. Whatever evils are involved, have to be dealt with while you’re alive

    2. Looks like Bill raised a really good son. Rip to a legend, that dude was a massive inspiration to me to keep going in life.

    3. Bushwick may have struggled in life as many of us do but he contributed more than most will. When you die it’s not about how much money you made or anything like that. It’s about the people you’ve loved and the ones who loved you and we all know he had a lot of them. Willie D spoke his truth as he seen it and rather we agree or not it’s his truth. Much love and respect to all 3 of these brothers.

    4. His son talks like a real man. Willie D is acting like an attention w**** taking about someone who is already dead to Vladtv, the Hiphop TMZ.

I won’t argue if what Willie D was ? true or not, but it’s totally unnecessary to go on and talk about the issues of a man that died. Especially when he died one or two weeks after he started to do some interviews

    5. All willie d did was speak facts. Even if its something you dont want to hear a fact is a fact. Also willie d doesnt have a problem saying anything to anybodys face. You need to check willie d’s track record before you continue to make stupid comments. Smmh

    6. I feel like Willy Dee was wrong like they said the man is in his grave why throw more salt on his grave karma is a b**** and it will come back to you you should at least went to the man’s funeral that show some type of respect you never supposed to sit there and stupid lower than your enemy even if he chooses to be ignorant why should you be ignorant just like him. I lost a little respect for Willie D and I’m from Chattanooga Tennessee Isle of the Geto Boys music grew up on it I got two partners that I consider just like the group me being like Bushwick and my other two partners being like Scarface and Willie D I think that was a good thing that young man did by ignoring the negative people when it comes to his daddy and focusing on making his name never be forgotten

    7. Bushwick bill talk about his struggles with being a dwarf stop acting like it wasnt a issue and in him having those struggles i can see how he probably rub willie the wrong way one too many times ,after while its hard to forgive and forget when someone is constantly being a prick because he’s a drawf “

    8. Willy coulda kept that shit to himself. Shows no emotion at all. Like he’s glad he died. Maybe bushwick didn’t like his ass for some legitimate reason. Has to be another side to the story.

      1. I knew Bill, an he was a handful. Remember he’s a Jamaican midget. Meaning he wasn’t easy to deal with. Willi D loved that brother. An that has nothing to do with us.

    9. I feel like Willi D didn’t say nothing but the truth. No one can judge him. Only God and a Geto Boy can judge him. Think about it, he will think about Bill for the rest of his life. A funeral is only one day. Most of y’all just talking. At least I spent time with Bill. I can say Bill was a alcoholic. But he enjoyed his life. An I will miss him till my last day on earth. RIP little man with a big heart.

    10. Willie didn’t ”slander” Bill. All he said is that they didn’t get along and had creative differences. GB4LIFE.
