It appears Fabolous plans to close out the summer in a big way. The veteran MC hyped up a new track with Chris Brown and Velous on Instagram, but also quietly announced the third edition of his Summertime Shootout series.
“cooked up something with @Velous & @ChrisBrownOfficial…. #FLIPMODE,” he wrote on Wednesday (August 30). “Dropping EVERYWHERE on Friday. #SummertimeShootout3OnTheWay.”
Although Summertime Shootout 3’s title would seem to hint at an imminent release, it’s worth noting the first entry in the series dropped in November 2015. Fab got closer to a more fitting release date with Summertime Shootout 2: The Level Up, which dropped last September.
The third Summertime Shootout tape could be bad news for fans waiting on Fab’s Freddy Vs. Jason project with Jadakiss. The long awaited collaboration still hasn’t materialized since being announced in February 2016.
It is pathetic that Freddie v. Jason isn’t out.. Krayzie and Bizzy Bone put out an album this year where they just spit 1 verse each on every song. Could the album have been better if they did more than that? Yup! But was it dope nonetheless? Yup! All we’re asking for is 11 verses each! With all the trash out, Hip-Hop will be more than happy with an effort like that from these 2 lyrical monsters! Get your acts together and make it happen already….
