Pete Rock Previews New Kanye West Music & Teases Possible “Turbo Grafx 16” Tracklist

Kanye West is out of the hospital and back in the lab doing what he does best, making music. He spent time with none other than Hip Hop pioneer Pete Rock, who shared a few clips of what ‘Ye has been working on as well as a tentative tracklist or sample list for his forthcoming project Turbo Grafx 16.

From the sounds of it, Old Kanye fans will get what they’ve been wanting from the Grammy Award-winning artist since 808s & Heartbreak dropped. Soulful tunes and samples.

“Playing 45s in da lab with Kanye West,” Pete captioned under one video clip from his Instagram.

According to the tracklist posted by Rock, so far Turbo Grafx 16 is slated to have 14 cuts, which have all been named after Nintendo and PlayStation video games such as the third-person shooter game Resident Evil and super popular cross-over fighting game Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.

If history is set to repeat itself, much like The Life of Pablo, this tracklist is likely to be flipped, cut and diced until it’s ready for release. Turbo Grafx 16 might not even be the official album name as TLOP went through several name changes.

It should also be noted that Yeezy’s cousin and long-time collaborator, Tony Williams, revealed that some of the songs for The Life of Pablo were withheld so that they could possibly be on Turbo Grafx 16.

Check out Turbo Grafx 16’s tracklist below.

    1. Metroid Other
    2. Muramasa the Demon Blade
    3. New Super Mario Bros
    4. No More Heroes 2

    1. Yes. Take it back to basics with hard drums, ill samples chopped, flipped and looped. Who knows what this will turn into but Pete is the right one of this will be the direction of a Kanye album. Real talk, the last ig post with beat in the background can go to Chyhi or Push, just bring the heat and let shot like this see the time of day.

    2. Does anybody notice the tracklist is in ABC order??? I don’t think it’s a coincidence. MNOPRSt but Q is missing idk if that means anything either…

      1. Maybe Qbert will be the bonus track featuring Blackstarr, Common, Consequence, GlC, Miri on the violin and John Legend on the hook.

      1. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was good though. Fucking masterpiece. But yeah all his post Kardashian albums suck in their own way. Not bad but still….

    3. Good. He should take it back to the mid2000s. With different and various beats and various flows instead of following the trends and reusing the same relayered trap beat with autotune saying lame lines and a “woo!” At the end of each line. He needs to set trends and bring rap back instead of this autotune mixed bullcrap trap that everyone seems to be doing now.

      1. Like he said he was. Get over yourself. You’re like that jealous dumb kid in 3rd grade that just has something to say about everything bc you’re miserable.

    4. Author note: The first track is called Metroid Dread, it’s a reference to a Metroid game that never came out because Kanye is a huge nerd
