Method Man, who hosts TBS’ celebrity battle rap show Drop The Mic,found himself in the hot seat when he took on James Corden on a recent episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden. For a solid three rounds, the two went toe-to-toe hurling insults back and forth on the show where the “Drop The Mic” segment originated.

Corden manages to squeeze in a reference to Meth’s “I’ll Be There for You/You’re All I Need to Get By” single with Mary J. Blige, while battle rap fans will note that Meth closes his third with a nod to Aye Verb’s legendary “Ay Big Gerald” line from the Hitman Holla battle.

Drop The Mic airs Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m. EST.
