Prodigy Discusses The State Of Mobb Deep's Relationship With Nas

The H.N.I.C. says that Mobb and Nas have more tracks recorded together, and music was more important than "petty bullshit."

Just weeks after Queens, New York emcee Prodigy returned home from prison, the Mobb Deep co-founder shocked fans when the group released a track with Nas in "Dog Sh*t" . The collaboration, produced by Alchemist and Havoc, was the first collaboration between M-O-B-B and Nas in 11 years, and came after years of conflict between the two parties.

Speaking with DJ Whoo Kid's Shade 45 radio show this week, Prodigy explained how he and Havoc reunited with Nasir. "We've been talkin' since I've been home. We put that [beef] to the side, man, to do this music. The music is crazy right now, that we're workin' on...we did a couple of joints. It's comin' out crazy; the music is more important than anything or lil' petty bullshit, so we good on that." At present, there is no word if or where "Dog Sh*t" will end up, or the titles for the other recorded collaborations.

The G-Unit deejay then asked his longtime friend and onetime label-mate about the initial moments of the parties meeting up again. P explained, "It's all love. [We] came up together, so it's all love anytime we see each other."

Already with an appearance on Jim Jones' just-released Capo, Prodigy also revealed that as a soloist and with Mobb Deep, he has upcoming material with Waka Flocka Flame, Styles P, N.O.R.E., Tony Yayo.

LMAO! Give it up. Nas reigns supreme over Jay and Mobb Depp. He destroyed both of them. But Jay's legacy is destroyed forever. Ether is a new synonym for diss.

yo anonymous help me out son, i don't remember when J shunned Yeezy, when did that happen?

    • Anonymous

s.carter; yeah that 'ask nas he don't want it with hov' line proved wise in hindsight lol... maybe hovito's 'advisors should have forewarned him' because after that ether J hasn't taken on another emcee... game, dame, sigel, cam all were taking shots... crickets from J though? And these were once artists on the roc? Hey J good call about Bleek being the future of the roc... J practically owed his career to Kanye [original Blueprint] then he shunned kanye @ the jump, saw that he was selling, and jumped on the bandwagon, then claimed he supported ye all along... BITCH move... disloyalty was highlighted in ether and you jay lames claim everything was fiction in that track... Esco could outrap J today even if he went back to Nastradamus style... ONE

is mobb deep still on g unit? they were so much better back in the 90s, all the recent shit havoc has put out and the new mobb deep since p got out has sorta that old sound, they need to stick to it, fuck 50

P got stuff with banks coming too

  • Atl2Trill

Waka Flocka is originally from NY and he's relevant right now. So Prodigy is gonna use this to his advantage. I wanna hear that Mobb Deep and Styles P. collab when it's done. That'll be some gutta shit.

    • Nike Champ 718

One dude who forgot how to rhyme doing a song with another dude who never knew how to rap. I'll pass.

Glad about the Nas reunion, but P needs to step his game way up if he wants to hold his own on a track with Nas in the future. Infamous and Hell On Earth 2 aren't possible, but Murda Muzik 2 could be done if they would focus on their strengths and won't collab with any of these faggot ass 'rappers' for the mtv generation.

Im not even a Mobb Deep fan, but a Wackfokkalame feat is wack as f#ck It's sad to see how some (no talent ass) rappers like him, Lil wayne and Rick Ross get so much attention Because, they f#ck up so many (otherwise) classic songs Call me a hater Im just a rap fanatic And those guys ain't no good for the Hip Hop culture/music

    • Ruggid Terrain

Waka flocka should not be put in the same category with Wayne and Ross. Ross's albums have been consistant bangers and look where Wayne came from. his lyrics have definitely improved over time, albeit simplified for his fans. Waka dont even rhyme most of the time...just a nigga talking(granted some of his beats bangs).

    • jubs

lmao. you're not a hater thats your opinion. The old lil wayne was alot better. And I think Rick Ross tries so I don't mind him. Wocka should be punched in the mouth where his jaw is wired and he cant rap... excuse me. talk bullshit on music for a long time.

Please disregard my son's post, he was dropped on his head when he was born. Thanks, and again, sorry.

    • jason

LMAO, did you just call Lil Wayne a no talent ass rapper? Lil Wayne is Top 5 rapper of all time.

  • Anonymous

Big up to Prodigy..why throw baby tantrums about who he callaborates with

  • Anonymous

A collab with Wacka Facka Lame??? What the fuck?!?!?!?!?!?!!? A Tony Yayo collab too? Those are the two worst rappers in the history of Hip-Hop. P must be looking to crush those dudes to raise his stock after being locked for 3 years. Fuck a Wacka & a Tony Gayo

  • Nico 3

P sucks ass, so no wonder he'd collaborate with Waka Flaka. What's next, Mobb Deep gets signed to Brick Squad? At this point, it can only be about dollars and cents.

  • mike who??

    hellonearth 2...nope, imfamous2....nope, murda muszik 2 yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HOLYSHIT

holy shit prodigy has material with waka flocka WTF IS GOING ON WITH THIS BULLSHIT GOD DAYUUUUM! everybody is selling out nowdays wow ,i still love p but damn why you got to sell out!

    • Anonymous

I can't believe it myself. There's nothing wrong when you're making music with artists who aren't lyricists. But then, make music with GOOD entertainment rappers and not this Waka Flocka Flame garbage for people who have the intelligence of a 2 year old.

  • kennyken

one thing i respect about p, is that he doesn't care about what people think, he makes his own music. wacka flaka? man i respect that. i wouldn't expect it but i respect it and i think it's gonna be nice. people need to get out of the one-tracked "lyricism" lane. there have been rappers for years that weren't lyricists but their music is always fun and entertaining and sounds good. Lyricists get their props too, but fuck what other people say about hip hop, ashley judd, all of them, this is our music. let's control our music. we don't come talking about how country music is all about old world and needs to come to the modern age. fuck all of this shit! i'm bugging out!!! arrrghh!! LOL, now i'm about to turn myself in.

    • smarter than you

um yea, your a fucking retard lol people need to come off of wanting their favorite rappers to portray lyricism? You respect a collaboration with Wacka Flocka? Why? Cus he's such a respectable "artist"? You really are just plain dumb, just cus an artist broadens their horizons, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's good... don't talk like everyone else is wrong for not wanting an old school legend to sell out, maybe your wrong for wanting it.
