Game & Stat Quo Forced To Change Rolex Records Name To The Firm

UPDATE: Game announced that the Rolex watchmakers were not playing around with his and Stat Quo's short-lived imprint.

Though Game is readying the release of his fifth studio album, Jesus Piece, the rapper is looking ahead to life after Interscope Records.

Game's latest release will fulfill his contractual obligations to Interscope. His new plan moving forward? "I just started a new record label, Rolex Records, and we're going to get off the ground and see if we can move," revealed the West Coast emcee to Billboard.

Game won't be going this new route alone, however, saying that Stat Quo would be in on what he described as a joint venture. "He was signed to Aftermath with me in the beginning. Now we're business partners, which is cool because he was a good friend of mine and he's just as equally music smart so we'll see how it goes,"

"We've been up and running for about thirty days," he added. "We're gonna do it big though."

UPDATE: Nearly eight months after launching Rolex Records with onetime Aftermath Entertainment/Interscope Records label-mate Stat Quo (who was also signed to Shady Records), Game has announced a forced name-change of the pair's moniker. On Instagram this week, the Compton, California revealed that the luxury jeweler cease-and-desisted Game's second label, after Black Wall Street Records.

On Instagram this week, Game explained. "ATTENTION: All artist & producers !!!!!! So after a 6 long month legal battle with Rolex watches over the name "Rolex Records" we lost & had to fully change the name of the label & it's logo away from the likeness of Rolex's crown & stay away from any & everything resembling Rolex. Can't use "Roley Boyz" or "Roley Records" either....... But today a new regime starts & I am officially the CEO of "The Firm" & we are looking for elite artists to be a part of a new movement. With that being said.... Upload your SOUNDCLOUD in my comments NOW !!! Me & @leauxsteez will be listening to your music all day today.... So FOLLOW @leauxsteez & upload your SOUNDCLOUD or Tag someone who will benefit from the start of my new label & have them upload the link to their music on mine & @leauxsteez page NOW. Thanks... & I'm looking forward to all the dope new music - The Game"

With the change, Game announced that he's now CEO of The Firm, his latest labe. The post did not mention Stat Quo. It is unclear if The Firm is inspired by the group of Nas, AZ, Foxy Brown and Nature, who used the same name.

The Instagram posts also parced out the new label logo. To date, Rolex Records never released any retail projects. Besides Game's catalog, Black Wall Street has also not released physically-distributed releases, despite an active label roster.
