Jeezy‘s estranged wife, Jeannie Mai, has accused him of abuse in new court documents, and the “Church In These Streets” rapper has responded to the claims.

Mai made the claim in court documents filed on Wednesday (April 24) and obtained by HipHopDX. In her motion — which was a request for the courts to enforce a memorandum of settlement — the Raid the Cage co-host alleged that the rapper (real name Jay Wayne Jenkins) subjected her to physical abuse, and their child to neglect, during an event in December 2022.

Mai further contended that Jeezy choked her out, called her a “fucking bitch,” and claimed that he “couldn’t wait” to divorce her. She also claimed that Jeezy had a drinking problem, that his violence would escalate when he was drunk, and that he once left their daughter, Monaco, alone with an AK-47 in a Louis Vuitton bag. Finally, Mai alleged that Jeezy would also subject his eldest son, Jadarius, to the same type of abuse.

In response to Mai’s claims, Jeezy took to Instagram on Thursday (April 25) to respond.

“Y’all know me,” he captioned the post, which read, “The allegations are not only false, but also deeply disturbing, especially coming from someone I loved. This malicious attempt to tarnish my character and disrupt my family is ridiculous.

He continued: “It’s disheartening to witness the deceit and manipulation at play, and at this time, my main concern is being an active father to our daughter as I continue to fight for court mandated joint custody. Rest assured, the truth will prevail through the proper legal channels.”

Previously, the Atlanta rap legend had asked for a hearing to organize a temporary parenting schedule — one which will give each parent equal time with their daughter.

Additionally, he claimed that after working out an informal custody agreement, he still hasn’t been able to see his daughter throughout much of this year. He also shot down Mai’s claims that his guns are the reason she’s kept the child from him as unfair, explaining that he’s always had guns and never put her in harm’s way.

He also said he’s been unable to FaceTime his daughter as Mai has blocked his phone number.

This request came after Jeannie Mai responded to Jeezy’s claims that she’s “gatekeeping” their daughter amid their divorce by outright denying the claims.

The talk show host said she’s been very accommodating with the rapper’s requests to see their daughter — giving him every date he’s asked for, including an extended period with her over the Christmas holiday. Anything outside of that, she said, has to do with safety concerns.

“It is essential to clarify that Ms. Jenkins’ insistence on reasonable safety measures being put in place, such as safely securing and locking away all firearms that have been unsecured in the past, as well as having familiarity and properly trained caregivers is not gatekeeping, but rather a responsible effort to prioritize their daughter’s well-being,” her attorneys wrote in the docs.

They added: “These requests are grounded in Ms. Jenkins’ genuine concern for the parties’ daughter’s safety and security, especially when under the care of others and traveling across the country, and are reasonable protective measures, not an attempt to restrict Mr. Jenkins’ access to their daughter.”
