    1. my favorite has to be everyone using the word “clout” incorrectly. millenial dweebs. fuck your opinion.

    2. The most overused term of them ALL…. CLASSIC! GTFOH with that already! Do people even know the definition of “classic”? The album hasn’t even been released yet and artists be like “it’s a classic”… Album just came out yesterday and Stan’s be like “that shit classic bro”…. SMH! LoL

    3. 80s-90s and early 2000 had classics rappers these days have hits but wont have classics
example likes Bone Thugs,wu tang, nas, rakim, ice cube etc these groups/rappers in the rap game 20 plus year and still make music 99% better then these so called rappers these days !! the fucked up thing is the music industries and radio dont play REAL HIP HOP anymore !! todays is just about fame who has money and rapping ” bitches, pussies, money money “

      1. Right, very little to none actual lyrical content, deep shit. Real life tragedies, blessing, and lessons which happen to every human being, not just when ur whipping in the kitchen

      2. Right, very little to none actual lyrical content, deep shit. Real life tragedies, blessing, and lessons which happen to every human being, not just when ur whipping in the kitchen in tha trap while smoking broccoli and a bad bltch to sack it up for you….

        1. exactly ! rap/hip hop was rapping from the hearh what u have in mind and life everything surounding someones everything had its meaning and a lesson ! check krayzie bone lesson to learn its from 2007 and hes rapping about the things rappers these days do which is showing off their money girls and cars !! till this day i just listen to old school and thats it

    4. Dint get me wrong. some of today’s music is fun and catchy. Back in the 90s you had all kinds of music to turn to. If you was in a political mood you blasted Public Enemy or Xclan. If you felt gangsta, you played any west coast artist. Lyrical? Any east coast artist. Party dancing n pussy mood? You played Miami bass music. Deep hood struggle? Geto boys. Pimp shit and getting this money? You had too short. So much diversity.

    5. The fact is that it is strictly only one’s opinion. I would say MJ is the greatest bball player of all time but the previous generation will talk about Russell, Bird, Magic, etc, and the newer generation will toss up Lebron, Kobe, Shaq. They all have valid points and none is right. Same as now in hiphop. If you asked me now, I’d probably pick Nas for consistency (if you wanted to throw Jay there you could but I’m more of a Nas guy.) But, I always think of who I was checkin for not only in their music but as featured artists on others. If Eminem, Twista, Wayne, Yeezy, etc were featured on a track on someone elses album (yeezy on dilated peoples, kweli), I would skip through an album just to listen to that particular artist. I think that means something especially when they are best selling (Em, Yeezy, Wayne). And old cats shouldn’t have to give the “check in” for new artists before they get considered. I’ll be honest, I don’t really like Kendrick’s latest work that much. And it’s instantly deemed a classic by the old cats. Man yall don’t even understand half the ish that man is talking about. I used to be a solid Kendrick is better than Drake but now Drake is simply making more relatable music to me with tracks like God’s Plan as opposed to Mr. Lamar on the Black Panther soundtrack. But at the end of the day, it is all just opinion with no label of fact.

    6. Murs’ new album is flame. “A Strange Journey Into the Unimaginable”, its his best work with Tech N9ne’s label by far. That has nothing to do with the Breakdown, but I just listened to it 3 times back to back yesterday and loved it, just felt like promoting it to the people who may have overlooked it.

    7. I believe “ of all times “ doesn’t mean how much time they did it, but it’s means of any and all era’s, decades etc…

    8. Having a long lasting career proves longevity not greatness. I’d say impact means much more. I ain’t no joke still holds its own as a strong rap record 30 years later. My philosophy by bdp still blows u away with its lyrics. You know my steez is still a breath of fresh air even tho it is 2+ decades old.

By contrast, u look at artists that were considered red hot 10 yrs ago like Eminem, and while u respect what they did the music sounds really dated.

I’m not mad at the idea of trying to codify the GOAT discussion and it’s all subjective anyways, I just think without accounting for the music holding value over time you’re excluding some of the best.
