    1. His fan base has been mostly white for the whole of his career. Dude has been making gentrification music forever and now complaining about it???

      1. This may be the most ignorant statement I’ve ever read on the internet. Please place yourself in front of a fast moving automobile.

        1. Google gift of gab audience then click the images tab, then tell me he had nothing to do with helping push gentrification of poor neighborhoods by selling hip hop culture to middle class suburban white kids.

          1. Yeah maybe his lyrics were more conscious than a mumble rapper and his influence on gentrification definitely different. But his era of hip hop some of blackalicious and gab’s lyrics themselves had an emphasis on keeping it real, loving the streets/urbanness and the poor. Middle class white kids get that message and move to poor neighborhoods because that’s what they believe they need to do to be hip hop.

            1. And you know what comes with those middle class white kids moving to the hood cause it’s cool and that’s where their favorite rapper talks about being from??? Corporations come, like Whole Foods cause they ain’t wanna sell to hood ppl till gift of gab fans moved in.

      2. Seriously? You think Gab is out there like “Hmmmm, let me make this type of music so white people dig it and then they move into the hood!” Your statement is the most ignorant fucking thing anyone could say. First of all, plenty of different kinds of races dig Blackalicious. Secondly, He’s an artist making the type of music he feels is important. He has no control over who digs his work. Not everything is some nonsense illuminati conspiracy theory designed to displace minorities from the hood. This song is an important statement and he deserves props for making it. And to the other idiot, I doubt any white people are moving to the hood to be more ‘hip-hop.’ All you idiots are reaching at best. WTF is “gentrification music” anyways??? I swear people just want to hate for the sake of hating so you conjure up some bullshit to bitch about. When you’ve built a career around your passion as a dope emcee, then you can comment. Until then, shut up.

    2. So id like to make a suggestion, hip hop dx you should follow suit like imdb and get rid of the postings. I used to really enjoy people’s input their theories suggestions for music but lately all i ever see on this site is hateful negative troll feces.
