Yeah maybe his lyrics were more conscious than a mumble rapper and his influence on gentrification definitely different. But his era of hip hop some of blackalicious and gab’s lyrics themselves had an emphasis on keeping it real, loving the streets/urbanness and the poor. Middle class white kids get that message and move to poor neighborhoods because that’s what they believe they need to do to be hip hop.
