Lil Wayne – I Am Not a Human Being II

Lil Wayne never has been nor never claimed to be a rapper’s rapper. As his fame has grown over the years, he’s continuously straddled the line separating Pop and Rap, lacing his fodder with innuendos that he’s from another planet—coupled with oddly perverse punchlines. The production on 2010’s I Am Not a Human Being futhered this claim, with spacey beats that nurtured Wayne slapping around silly bars to the tune of an impending prison sentence waiting for him upon album completion. On the contrary, I Am Not a Human Being II is very human. Wayne is constantly horny, often drugged up (despite some repeated vows of sobriety) and only takes a few moments for self-reflection. There is nothing extraterrestrial about it, though that’s not to say it isn’t fun some of the time.

The first words uttered at the start of IANAHBII’s title track are “I’m in the crib butt naked, bitch,” thereby stressing the shape of things to come throughout the project. Wayne continuously leans on hyper-sexual lines with constant references to his manhood. On “Curtains,” he spits, “She said I didn’t know your dick was a recliner,” only to return on “Back To You” with “My dick is her chair.” Sure that’s typical Wayne, but for a project that came so highly anticipated, more metaphorical work could have been placed into it. Tunechi shines the brightest when he diverts from that formula, talking threats on “Beat The Shit” with Gunplay who sort of steals the show with his gruff delivery or the simple Trap Rap found on “Gunwalk” with Gudda Gudda. Bonus cut “My Homies Still” with Big Sean packs more energy than most of the tracks found on the standard release. Even drug talk is refreshing after hearing Wayne talk about getting head from decapitated women, as “Trippy” with Juicy J brings Wayne discussing his drug abuse in almost uncomfortable detail. His finest moment arrives on “God Bless Amerika,” as Weezy questions his fate in the midst of political distrust and gentle jabs at the prison system. It’s the nakedest moment on the album, even lined up against the inlfux of sex talk. There is one moment where the alien returns, but it’s on the 5-year-old bonus track “Hot Revolver” which feels even more out of place than the ever popular Nicki Minaj on “Lay It Down.”

Clocking in at almost 20 songs (including all bonus cuts), I Am Not a Human Being II is excessively long, leaving room for missteps that pull the album in multiple directions. It’s uneven, and while a single like “Rich As Fuck” with 2 Chainz and buzz track “Bitches Love Me” with Drake and Future would suggest the album sounds one way, the album cuts speak otherwise. There is a balance begging to be found, one that ultimately led to the success of Tha Carter IV. Having reached a tenth solo studio album is monumental – especially in the fickle world of Hip Hop – so more energy could have definitely been placed into Wayne’s 10th. For the casual Weezy fan (one that hears the music but doesn’t listen), I Am Not a Human Being II is perfect mindless fun. However, for those who expected more from this repeatedly delayed effort, Wayne may have to hop in his spaceship and try again.

    1. Its like the more he becomes insecure about his sexuality as Birdman continues to play with him after all these years he subconsciously has to make a 1000 references about eating girls pussy per album.

    2. I swear wayne doesnt think anymore he just records and releases vomit from his mouth. Coming from a fan, but hes got absolutely no heart in his music anymore, take you’re time with your music, dont just release it to release it, hes pissing a lot of fans off by doing that.

Let the hate begin, could careless what anybody behind a “keyboard” thinks.

      1. but does he care about his legacy when hes gone? thats something he should think about more than a fans..or in this case writers (who he sent a free copy to to review it) opinion..

      2. Think of it this way. Wayne is going through what Eminem did. He’s probably whacked out of his mind when he’s in the studio making these songs. While I’ll haven’t heard the album yet, the review doesn’t make it sound good or bad. It sounds like just another mainstream album that is going to sell like crazy.

    3. Wayne records frisbees and weed plates, all while making tons of money, He has very bright moments but overall his music is for the borderline retarded.

    4. All the pussy references make this album annoying. Weezy used to have great punchlines but I can’t bump this album more than a couple times. The first track IANAHB has a sick keyboard melody then Weezy raps. Horrible. Still a couple decent tracks. Sounds more like a mixtape.

    5. i love you weezy 2013 3-26-13 can’t wait tomorrow no tonight at midnight im getting im not a human being 2 cuz i ain’t nervous

      1. Sorry, someone else wrote this. Im actually going to buy Timberlake’s new album at midnight. I know it’s out for a week already but I am buying this at midnight to honor the one week anniversary of the 20/20 album.

    6. dude clearly doesnt care anymore shit he said it himself hes bored with hiphop this album shows that

    7. What happened to this guy? Everything has been garbage since The Carter 2.. How can someone fall off this much?

      1. Because he doesn’t care. He makes money hand over first no matter how many 1 star ratings he gets on this site. Just stating the facts man, he knows his audience doesnt give a shit about lyrics, so he just finds catchy beats and makes repetitive songs and that formula has made him the biggest selling artist in rap.

      2. He’s been whack since Carter 2 bc he had ghost writers then. Now this seizure prone gremlin believes his own lies that he’s the best in the rapper alive & now he freestyle his verses thinking he’s clever. Too many cock slaps in RIKERS left him brain damaged.

      3. LMAO.. That makes a lot of sense, no one can fall off like that, he definitely must have had ghost writers..

    8. Love it totally awesome outta da box weezy!! 😀 just like Lil Wayne said about his I am not a human being albums, “these albums are his alien side for him to experiment on”!!!! Again love it. 🙂

      1. How can you people say its the same? Granted on some instances you have a point but like the guy said a TRUE Lil Wayne fan can listen to this and understand that he’s not putting the same mentality like the carter series or his early mix tape mentality because that’s in the past and these new albums like rebirth and IANAHB are just albums for a different sound and style for Wayne to experiment and fun with. It just shows his versatility and ability to switch it up from te same old shit we hear all the time. Also of course he gonna be talking about pussy, money, and weed cuz that’s all he has and gets!! It’s the same as when watch the throne came out…do people really expect these rappers to talk about the poor ghetto life or hard times in every album!? That’s just ignorant to say that cuz these artists have creative royalties to do and say whatever they want and most of the time they gonna be talking about what relevant to them in the present. Kendrick Lamar is hot right now for talking about that ish but give him a year or two and he’ll be rapping like everyone else -_-

Stop hating cuz only TRUE weezy fans like I said in the beginning will enjoy it and get with the times and not stay in the past! 🙂

    9. OK, fine, Lil Wayne isn’t a human being. But is he a rapper? Last summer, Weezy said that rap had become “boring,” and he’s made noises about quitting music to concentrate on his new love, skateboarding. He’s also made headlines for all kinds of extra-musical reasons: his beef with Miami Heat big man Chris Bosh, his brush-with-death hospitalization, his cough-syrup addiction. What he hasn’t been doing much of is calling himself the Greatest Rapper Alive, as he once did, at every available opportunity.
This is exactly the record you’d expect to hear from Weezy in 2013: a solid album by a brilliant MC who’s half-interested. He raps almost exclusively about sex, especially oral sex; there may be more cunnilingus metaphors in these 15 songs than in all previous pop music combined. He can still reel off dazzling rhymes; songs like the spookily minimalist 2 Chainz collab “Rich As Fuck” are worth it just for the nimble musicality of his vocal tone and flow. The woozy “Romance” is a genuinely kinky sex song: “Give me coochie at my momma’s crib/On Thanksgiving/ Everybody listening.” But there’s none of the exhilarating surprise lyrically or conceptually of his peak years. (The drug song “Trippy” is a pale rehash of “I Feel Like Dying.”) And some tracks are just dispiritingly lame. “My tongue is a Uzi/My dick is a AK,” he raps in the clattering Soulja Boy-produced “Wowzers.” E.T. phones it in.

      1. Damn, I got more out of reading your review than I got out of reading HHDX’s review (step your game up Kathy).

    10. I completely agree all these haters and stuck in the past and don’t understand that these albums like rebirth are just stuff he’s experimenting with and having fun!! A true weezy fan would appreciate and jam out to an album no matter what :)…fuck he can come out with a r&b or country album and it’ll still be fire! Lol

    11. Love how Weezy started the album. The ending could have been better. All I know is Gunwalk is the shiznit bitCH! I can not stop listening to Gunwalk.

    12. the guy who wrote this doesnt know what the hell hes talkin about. im one who listens to music and doesnt just hear it and i think this album is gold. i dont know why people suddenly hate his style,he is who he is hes been talking about similar topics since his old mixtapes, he couldve came out with this album 4 years ago and this same writer wouldve loved it including everyone else. no one can top his punchlines and yea its not the most profound work but appreciate it for what it is dont think too deep into it. 5 out of 5 for me and anyone who says otherwise truly doesnt appreciate hiphop.

      1. suddenly hate his style? how about been hating it for a few years now..waynes dropped like 2-3 songs to the radio that havnt popped..bec he sucks now..

    13. Not gonna lie Lil Wayne fell off big time, but the punchlines on the Title Track are ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. He lets them go like water from a faucet.

    14. not even close 2 surprised..wht happened to wayne? i remember the days i used 2 check for him every time (4-5 years ago) carter 3 was the begining of his downfall and then it was over.. before that album tho anything wayne dropped popped…

damn wayne you need to hit a private island for a few months lay off the drugs and alcohol, recoup and come back. i wont even download this album for free let alone shell out a dime for it..

    15. The Heat “missunderstanding” is the reason why wayne never gonna be the greatest. its your faul weeyze

    16. for some reason..DXs ratings and reviews never match up. If you read the review, it suggests this album deserves a 1.5 or a 2..but somehow this got a 3…THIS IS BULLSHIT HHDX

      1. How so? The album can intellectually suck but some people aren’t looking for that. Don’t be so one dimensional.

      2. Oh Kathy, smh… get outta here with the “Some people aren’t looking for that” bullshit. Your job is to OBJECTIVELY rate music based on what YOU heard, not rate it on how you think other people might feel about it. You didn’t even get THAT right because the most popular rating so far is a 1. Worried about alienating YMCMB in case you need an interview in the future, huh? Despite the dumb-ass comments people leave on this site, you do have some intelligent, observant readers

      3. Yes, PhillyMu, I’m so concerned with being political because my lifelong dream is to interview artists within YMCMB (which I’ve already done before). Stop dropping assumptions all over this comment section – you sound as intelligent as the people you’re referring to as “dumb-ass.”

    17. i think hiphopDX is trying to say nicely that this album sucked donkey balls just like everyone expected, wayne just talks about pussy too much

    18. who ever wrote dis dont kno shit i fuck with this album did the guy that wrote this ever think maybe wayne rapped bought these things cause thats whats going on in his life currently like my dude said if wsyne woulda came out with this 4or 5 years ago yal would of loved it nighas just love to hate wayne like he said in track one americans hate that im american

    19. Wow normally I don’t waste my time posting on this bullshit site, but I cant ignore this anymore. They have given some great albums 3.5…some GREAT albums. I remember when they gave Oneirology a 3.5 and after listening I could not have been more frustrated….and then they give this piece of shit a 3?? Jesus HHDX you really need to get your shit together. You guys really need to change how you run shit because this is pathetic.

    20. so sad to see wayne fall off i always hope there will be an album with the old wayne sound too much drugs now he gone since carter 2 such a shame fuck getting in a spaceship we need a time machine. at this point i want a greatest hit from 99-about 07

    21. The fucked up thing is that this album will still sell like crazy. I can hear this album just fine, but idk if I would be able to listen to it.

    22. haha. People feeling hurt cuz they think Wayne fell off. He’s always been garbage. He’s just more garbage now than he was before. That’s the only difference.

      1. He was dope during the C2 era, if you cant admit that to yourself then you just hate the guy for some reason and probably never listened in the first place. He has fallen off horribly since that “Lollipop” bullshit dropped but he was dope once upon a time

      2. yeah def he was hot during his carter 2 era..somewhere down the line the spotlight got to bright..drugs got to potent and killed him off

    23. Let’s be real right now: Carter 3 is the best this guy will ever be! He was creative, silly, lyrical and the beats were the same and matched him. He hasn’t done that since! His delivery and content is so ridiculous it’s uncomfortable sometimes. He uses P***y and B***h so much, it’s like a crutch when he runs out of things to say. The beats sound recycled, and Trina killed him on a song…TRINA! This is not experimental, stop saying that. 808’s was experimental, Kid A was experimental, this was disappointing! He swung and missed! 2008 was a long time ago, and was the last time Wayne dropped anything remotely listenable! It’s truth!

    24. He was outdone by Gunplay on “Beat The Shit”… seriously?! More proof (if it was needed) that Wayne’s fallen off big time. He needs to leave hip-hop alone ‘cuz he clearly doesn’t give a fuck about his music anymore.

    25. Wayne’s been washed up since Carter 3 anyway. He’ll never reach his peak of Carter I and II. After Carter 3, his work has been downright EMBARASSING. I don’t know how a straight heterosexual male can listen to this clown talk about pussy, drugs, and money and actually ENJOY this. Its just beyond me but I guess each to their own. This shit should get 0 stars if you ask me.

    26. and wayne is still probably going platinum lol. All a part of master plan to manipulate the masses. It’s like the air jordans, used to be great quality shoes, people got hyped cause mj the GOAT, and now he has the masses hooked so he can put out jordans made with shitty material and people will still buy. Album sucked, but I commend wayne on his business prowess

      1. you fail for using Jordan and wayne in the same sentence and those are jumpmans you talking about not JORDANS

    27. to get the full feel of the album you must be coked up and sippin on that lean otherwise you will miss out

    28. The Wayne of old shines through at moments in this album. Unfortunately those moments are far and few in between.

    29. Eventually all these radio rappers will fall off because lets be honest the hits are coming like they use to. Lil Wayne, Rick Ross especially are some of the most garbage rappers out and they are fading into the background and I’m happy as hell. Why? Because it give rappers like Kendrick Lamar some spotlight to shine. I’m tired of the same old same old and judging by this album rating the masses are too. LOL.

      1. agreed!..also @MM. i would agree with you about MM but hes put out some suspect guest verses lately and i cant rly call recovery a hiphop album- it was rly good and i enjoy listening to it but eminem been suspect at best lately..

kendrick lamar dropped the perfect album for what hiphop is all about.. eminem needs to come hard bec kdot set the bar high as fuck. if em cant match it he shouldnt drop at all. kdot brought real hiphop back and i love it

      2. Eminem? Not taking anything away from Em but that Slaughterhouse joint was bad and his Relapse and Recovery were so-so albums. On top of that all the rappers he has surrounded himself with are floppers. Eminem is still a great MC but he will never be what he once was because he can’t Dr. Dre himself just like 50. Lol

      3. Shady will always be better than those rappers you mentioned. Recovery was not a so-so album. His lyrics were soo complex and thought out no rapper could even keep up with that. Kendericks album was good but it wasn’t no Shady album. And I love Kendricks music. Yelawolf is a good rapper that surrounds Eminem. He does surround himself with not the greatest rapper i agree, although relapse was trash he redeemed him self in Recovery. If I do recall the song “Our house” On the slaughterhouse album to be the best one on the album and Em was on it. I just dont believe hes washed up maybe not the one he was during The eminem show, but hes still 99% better than rappers today.

      4. I try to stay away from the Eminem debates becuase his body of work is amazing. Eminem was the man while Biggie and Tupac was alive while alot of rappers didn’t blow until their demise. Eminem can drop a album next week and with no promotion or radio play and go platinum. The only other rapper that can do that is Jay-Z and Eminem is the better lyricist. With that said his greatness as of late has been a little short of what I’m use too.+

    30. Your a fucking punk inside i hope you fucking die i hope you get to hell and satin sticks a needle in your eye, i hate your fuckin guts you fuckin slut i hope you die diiiiieeeeee,
      You
      Dont
      Know
      How
      Sick
      You
      Make
      Me
      You make me
      Fucking sick
      to my stomach
everytime i think of you i PUKE!

    31. This nigga wayne think he slick. He got weak features on his album to make him think hes nice. If he wouldve gotten Lloyd Banks or Fab on a track his career wouldve be over. He cant hang with the top dogs no more and he knows it. Every time Wayne hears a verse better than his he catches a seizure.

    32. you guys expect way too much from weezy. Every track was hit or miss but it was definitely better than the fourth Carter. It was a fun album to listen to but you can’t expect to be blown away. If you didnt like this album, its your own fault. If you expect some Ready To Die like shit, you’re obviously not going to like it

    33. Dear Kathy Iandoli,

I’m sure you will stumble upon this. I will also assume that you are new to the HipHopDx team. Although I enjoyed this review mainly because of the site, I’m not impressed with your album review efforts. You lack depth, real research and actual substance. Ironically, this review would be great if it was for an academic high schooler, no shots, but I’m not impressed.

I don’t know if HipHopDx gives either short notice or a character limit but judging from your JT 20/20 album review with lacked the same points am convinced you’re one of the people who just hear, skim, but don’t LISTEN. As a fan of Hip Hop please explain moreso examine the context of the album (this was a series; talk about how it differs, whats good, whats bad) – album reviews these days ain’t shit. Too much focus on persona, not on the music. I still wish you luck.

      (excuse my grammar).

      1. I agree 100% bruh… I challenged her about her 20/20 Experience review for the same reasons. This site, and others, have the same things in common… White journalism majors who just happened to fall into writing for hip-hop blogs. We need people writing about our music/cluture who were invested in it before they started looking for a writing job! It’s not a race thing for me, I love Peter Rosenberg because you can tell he’s a true hip-hop head who’s followed the culture for years. I doubt that KATHY has

      2. Dear reader who refuses to use their real name but I digress –

I’m far from new to HipHopDX or to writing, and I’m not particularly concerned with impressing you. I’m here to discuss the album, which is what I did. If you felt that more information and research were needed, perhaps you can post your own review on your WordPress page. Be well.

      3. Dear Kathy Iandoli,

Thanks for replying, I knew you would. The fact that you are concerned with my name just goes to show, like your reviews, it has nothing to do with the context/content of this topic/debate/review. Let’s keep it classy shall we? It’s not about impressing me per say, it’s about credible and responsible journalism. You are being defensive, not even noting or acknowledging my minor review on your work. You did discuss the album, and am not saying you did a bad job, per say, but it needs improvement. I think highly of this site to come on here and read reviews. Couple years ago, reviews were deal breakers for me to go out and actually buy an album. Realize this has not much to do with Lil Wayne and half of these zombie commenters who get tickled by ignorance.

Writing a album review, we as readers garner a sense of trust, now of course, we have a mind of our own, but in this day and age where resources and information is out there (if you really look) im challenging your lack of thorough review. Like c’mon, I’m just saying for an ARTIST who has been in the game since the 90s this is the best/credible review you can come up with?

ps. I don’t think HipHopDx would be happy that you want a value [confused] reader like myself hopping on WordPress. I know you do better. Be not well, but better. Until next time.

        (excuse my grammar)

      4. Wonderful comebacks. Would you like to write for us? I’ll even excuse your grammar.

        Be the best.

      5. Notice how Kathy didn’t deny any of my claims, which probably means I was damn close to the truth of the matter. You’re right, I don’t know you. But I DO know hip-hop and I know when I’m reading from someone that knows the music and culture well, and I’m sorry, I don’t get that when I read your pieces. Listen Kathy, don’t be so defensive. There are many media outlets available online that review albums, and people who are really into music (like myself) read reviews often. So it’s not hard to tell when a review isn’t written particularly well. How do you know? Because you leave exactly were you started… not having a clear understanding of what to expect when you listen to the album. My advice would be to listen to albums at least 5-7 times before your review. That way you will be able to get more insightful things to write about that you might not catch on the 1st or 2nd listen. Just a suggestion.

    34. 8 people gave it a perfect 5
      drake
      nicki
      birdman
      mack maine
      lil wayne
      gudda gudda
and 2 white girls who dont know any better

      1. lmao cosign..had me some pussy last night and will be gettin some around 8 oclock tonight.
money CHECK- pussy CHECK..anything else a dickrider who cant admit there fav rapper sucks wants to say!?

      2. when he said you need some pussy he said good pussy, not dirty stanky pussy that yall been getting… none the less weezy has seen better days

    35. usually I try not to be too hard on artists if I think they are doing what they can, or if they aren’t that talented but have some kind of message to get across or something like that. I try not instantly label anything “trash” or “garbage” or nothing but let’s face it, this is absolutely horrible. Wayne needs to retire, from solo albums at least, I wouldn’t mind a feature here or there if he took it seriously but really he needs to just call it.

    36. lol. haterz are mad cuz dey live at momma’s basement. stop hatin on rich niggaz, broke ass niggaz. Lil Wayne is da King of Rap/Hip Hop! diz classic album gon sell 1 milli as well. best album of 2013. swag

    37. love this album, to me it is much better than the carter 4. I like that the guest appearances are less mainstream and more geared toward up and comers i.e. Gunplay. that soulja boy verse was terrible though. but back to the main point. the beats are crazy the wordplay is insane. definitely unlike any hiphop album you will hear this year. 5 stars

    38. Why does everyone assume that weezy was insightful and metaphorical and deep at any point in his career? He wasnt, ever, all his music is crazy, funny and superficial. IANHM goes back to his roots of funny gangsta rap and steers away from the rock he was doing prior. The only time he gets even remotely serious is on a carter, even then its only been one or two songs on the album that really meant anything. Why do you seem surpriesed by all the sexual lines? Calling it perverted? Seriously? You are obviously not a wayne fan, and have not given his music a real listen in your life. This album resembles the old wayne more than anything hes done since no ceilings.
WORST REVIEW I HAVE EVER READ ON THIS SITE PERIOD.

      1. Excuse me? Have you ever heard of Shooter, Dr. Carter, Mr. Carter, Ride for My Niggas, I’m Me, Mo Fire? Though I’m not big into Weezy history, and never was that big of a fan, he has clearly regressed as a rapper in every possible way. Not only are these songs adequate intellectually (by that I mean that someone in grade school may actually think they’re clever), but they are not all about dumb punchlines, rock music, or sexuality. The entire song Dr. Carter is its own metaphor. While no one is making the case that Wayne was an intellectual rapper, we all recognize that he wasn’t just an idiot making poor excuses for radio/club rap with mumbled bars, weak flow, and idiotic lyrics. The guy has talent, as proven by previous records he has released, and has fallen into a rut that is perpetuated by his popularity among people who prefer meaningless songs. Not that such a preference is a bad thing; no one wants to listen to Eyedea or El-P on a party bus. But people are critical of Wayne because of his waste of talent, not just because of his subject matter, etc.

      2. Spot on anonymous, these guys are either annoying wayne Stans riding the bandwagon or wayne haters riding the bandwagon.

      3. You just proved my point, all of those songs were on carters and different ones at that. When you look at the carters he has 2 or 3 seriious songs then he reverts back to his i dont give a fuck style.
This is not a carter, it a completely different type of album and to judge it as a carter s stupidity. Carter 4 had alot of metaphorical songs along with serious songs. That isnt what you are supposed to expect from this album

    39. EMINEM CAN SAVE HIPHOP

HE JUST GOT TO BRING IT BACK TO KING MATHERS!

HIS ALBUM SETS TTHE SOUND FOR THE DECADE

    40. Whomever reviewed this was being kind because this shit is absolute TRASH. That hashtag rap is fucking corny, especially when the “artist” is talking about pussy, drugs, and money. Why this guy has fans these days is just mind blowing to me. And worse yet is seeing these tight jeans wearing teenagers run around saying this shit is “hot”. My goodness this generation gets more embarassing each year. 1 star. And it doesn’t even deserve that.

    41. Lol the casual Weezy fan, one who hears the music but doesn’t listen? I’d say the hardcore Wayne fans are the ones who hear but don’t listen…dude is a shell of what he used to be.

      1. And that’s all that matters right? Not the quality of the music, but the fact that its gonna sell. We should be worried if garbage like this sells.

      1. I think you mean intellectuals?? I can tell you listen to Wayne… Love it when stupidity speaks for itself, saves me a lot of typing

    42. didn’t this fuckass say in an interview “I’m gonna retire when you still want me, I’m never gonna have people be like ‘nah it’s time to retire dawg'” … and then he releases this shit. Fuck outta here 100000000000 times son.

    43. Deep down inside Wayne fans know he sucks. This is why they care so much about who is featured on his albums. If his featured guests suck, Wayne fans almost don’t even want to hear the album. This is the subconscious talking.

    44. Has a few good songs on there but no where near what the IAMAHB. Probably his worst album..except for that rock album

    45. This is what happens when you are dropping albums like crazy and featured on everyones songs. Wayne needs to take a break and put some time into his albums. He raps a bunch of nonesense because this guy is always in the studio. He needs to sit back and produce his other artists for about 2 years, then he needs to drop. Im sick of hearing 2 chains, drake, and all of the other fools on the radio. They are already terrible rappers, so what happens when they are hopping on a different track every day. P.S., I have a site called muzikhustlaz.com, I need help reviewing albums and interviewing. Hit me at info@muzikhustlaz.com.

    46. Another steaming pile of shit from Dwayne Michael Carter III. This dude has lost it. He sounds uninspired here. Wayne was at his peak with Tha Carter 2. He’s been falling off since Tha Carter 3 and consistently put out nothing but weed plates and frisbees. Wayne, it’s time to put the mic down and take a LONG vacation because you’re just destroying whatever legacy you had left by making more music.

Cuz if u wanna stay in the past then just keep jamming out to carter 2 or whatever and stop complaining about his new work lol

      1. I believe he said for the casual Weezy fan (those who hear but don’t listen). He should have said the real Weezy fans cuz apparently they don’t either. Dude has been hot garbage for years, I haven’t listened to dude since high school. That shit is for kids man, if you a grown man you can only hear another grown man brag about his dick so many times… I dare you to cite one line on this album that is original and thought-provoking

      2. I feel like you put alot into that statement so i assume your not just a stan trying to get a reaction out of people. You really need to stop being a “yes man” and making excuses for this man. It just shows how brainwashed you really are. I was once a fan of wayne’s music too but i am a fan of the music not of the man. Once the music goes down hill you have to be able to admit it to yourself because otherwise your just creating excuses and convincing yourself that this guy is still good. You might be younger so if thats the case time will tell and you will look back and realize what im saying. You are just playing a big game of simon says and your not simon.

      3. You’re a fucking idiot. what a useless comment. smh.

problem with wayne is he as never EVER a great artist. Not like Em, Hov, Nas, Kanye, Outkast etc. onwhere in any of there league musically or far as storytelling or artistically.

Its been that since wayne entered the game. He doesn’t have classic albums for one.

You made yourself believe this ngga is something greater when he really isn’t that good at all.

    48. The intro could’ve been dope as HELL if he just stopped rapping bout his fucking dick being president and shit. I actually liked him when he rapped more than now when he just talk shit. So disappointed! Somebody around him gotta stop lick ass and tell him the truth

    49. most of these rappers aint real niggas. Word, Nas bankrupt never was a drug runner, Lil Wayne aint no blood, Jeezy aint no BMF, 50 a snitch, Game a stripper. None of these niggas real you guys. If they was all real they all be dead now. Like it or not Ross is the new biggie.

      BAWSE!!!!!

      1. How the fuck you gon’ say Game aint real but Ross is the new Biggie? Biggie wasnt no motherfuckin’ corrections officer, homie. Nice try tho.

    50. Eminem is good, but not as good as Wayne. Wayne KILLED him on “No Love” .

Also Wayne’s songs DO have meaning, and substance and YES ill lines…

“watch me as bust this, lay it down like construction/when I spit the mic get wet cause my voice is like seduction”

^ WHO THE FUCK CAN TOP THAT!?!?!?!?!? He has storytelling. He even rewrote Eminem’s “Stan” and made it better!!!!

      1. Your a fucking idiot, that is the line you cite as an example of his lyrical prowess… Eminem has a million bars iller than that, you fucking kidding me? No Love was Wayne’s peak and Eminem’s low point in his entire career and it was still tough to call. Wayne just makes basic metaphors and wordplay for those who are amused when two words that are associated are in the same line. However, there is absolutely no point to 98% of them (the above included).

        How about…

“I wish I could capture the rage of today’s youth and bottle it/ crush the glass with my bare hands and swallow it/ and spit it back in the faces of you racists and hypocrites/ who think the same shit but don’t say shit.”

“See I’m a poet to some, a regular modern day Shakespeare
Jesus Christ the King of these Latter Day Saints here
To shatter the picture in which of that as they paint me
as a mother of hate, Satan and scatter-brained atheist
But that ain’t the case, see it’s a matter of taste
We as a people decide if Shady’s as bad as they say he is
Or is he the ladder, a gateway to escape?
Media scapegoat, they can be mad at today
See it’s as easy as cake, simple as whistling Dixie
while I’m wavin the pistol at sixty Christians against me
Go to war with the Mormons, take a bath with the Catholics
in holy water no wonder they try to hold me under longer
I’m a motherfuckin spiteful, delightful eyeful
The new Ice Cube, motherfuckers hate to like you
What did I do? (huh) I’m just a kid from the gutter
makin this butter off these bloodsuckers”

It embarrasses me that these two are even put in the same category. Go listen to Marshall Mathers LP and Eminem Show and tell me every song isn’t better than everything Wayne has done in his career. When has Wayne ever made a positive contribution to our society or been the voice of a generation? He brags about the same shit over and over and over again and you suckers eat it up. Yeah, Eminem isn’t the same lyrically as he once was, but Recovery still had better songwriting and concepts than anything Wayne has done. Dude can’t write a song or even stay on a topic, he just throws together random words. NO COMPARISON!

You don’t have to be a certain race to see that these guys are on 2 different levels entirely. I dare someone to post any thought provoking lyrics Wayne has released since the Carter II. Go head I dare you….

      2. TAZZ you did it again my friend warmed my heart a second time. No chance wayne had anything on Eminem. Shady is on levels he could never reach. Also, no chance he beat Eminem in No love it was a good verse from Wayne, but Em’s verse was verse of the year.

    51. 1 – Nas fans (refuse to realize he fell off after Stillmatic)
2 – Eminem stans (similar to Nas fans, plus they tend to be racist)
3 – Lil Wayne fans (they worship a nigga who sounds like a roach)
4 – Kanye West fans (this nigga ain’t no music genius)
5 – 50 Cent fans (if he never got shot, he would never have fans)
6 – Biggie fans (he only had 2 albums, overrated AF!)
7 – Ross fans (they support a fraud)

      1. Nas never fell off, he remains one of the most grounded, relevant emcees from his era. Who else from the early 90’s still has hits on the radio? Did you hear Life Is Good? It’s well-rounded and accessible to everyone from teenagers to our parents. He’s 40-something, your not gonna get him monkey-flipping rappers with the funky rhythms he be kicking no more, he’s grown.

Eminem is one of the best emcees to walk this planet, why don’t you go ask your favorite rapper? Rakim, Kool G Rap, so many legends have said he is the last to truly impress them. He had a 6 year run where he was unstoppable, those joints are timeless. He may not be the same as he once was, but you can’t take away what he has contributed to the culture, lyrically and content-wise. He mad popular hip hop personal…

Lil’ Wayne once had a serious future, but he has sold his soul like so many before him. You can’t deny the quality of everything pre-Carter II, but there is lots of room for criticism since. And what does a roach sound like? I’ve never heard one talk, but then again I clean my house…

Kanye may not be the best on the mic, but musically he has revolutionized the game and carries on the legacy of Dilla, Preemo Pete Rock and Tip. He took the music that laid the foundation for hip hop and learned to flip it in a way thats fresh and exciting. Can’t hate the man for breaking new ground, even though his lyrics tend to be obnoxious and repetitive at times.

I don’t understand the buzz around 50 either, but I do get why he has a giant fan base. GRODT and Beg for Mercy were crack when they dropped, you can’t give all the credit to a few bullet holes. Although I think he is a sub-par lyricist, he put together a classic, thats more than most can say.

Suck a dick if you don’t like Biggie, it’s that simple. He couldn’t control that his run was cut short. Dude had a personality bigger than his waist size and his voice control and what he conveyed through his speech is still unmatched. Do I think he would be top 5 if he was still alive? Prob not judging by the direction of Life After Death, but Ready To Die is one of the most groundbreaking works ever, bangs straight through. Hendrix only made 2 albums, does that mean he’s not a legend and shouldn’t be remembered as one of the greatest guitarists of all time? Exactly…

I don’t have a single thing to defend Ricky, he dug his own grave. Port of Miami got my attention, but thats all.

With that said, who do you like? Cuz if you can’t respect legends like BIG, Em and Nas I’m interested in who you do give it up to…

      2. Tazzz i gotta say man you just warmed my heart i thought i was the last one on the site, with those same opinions so I COSIGN!

      3. Whoever this “worst fans in hip-hop” dude is, he’s an all-out hater. And I gotta agree with Tazzzz, his comment is probably the best one I’ve ever read on this website.

    52. To me Lil Wayne fell off. On certain songs he can show the old Wayne but really he fell off. Like he only use punch lines now he don’t really rap about nothing but sex. I want the old Wayne back in the Carter 1 and 2 days and even Carter 3

    53. Haha, highly anticipated. The first edition I am not a Human Being was garbage. Can’t say I expected anything. Blessings in retirement Wayne.

    54. HHDX: Which albums did you ghostwrite for?

Gillie: The Carter 1, I didn’t do the The Carter 2. I wasn’t even there for that.

HHDX: Which songs did you write for The Carter 1?

Gillie: Pretty much all of them.

    55. Broke haters of course gon post on any Wayne article because they just want attention and hate. If yall faggots hate Wayne so much why the fuck do you always post on his articles. Weezy still make good music still make more money in one week they you broke asses make in a lifetime so he dont give a shit about your broke haters

    56. OUT IN LA, THE BLOODS GOT RESPECT FOR WEEZY COZ HE’S OG STATUS NOW. HE CAN WALK THE STREETS WITHOUT PROTECTION!

      YMCMB!!

    57. Tha Block Is Hot-average

      Lights Out-average

      500 Degrees-average

      Tha Carter-classic

      Tha Carter 2-classic

      Tha Carter 3-good

      Rebirth-trash

      I’m Not A Human Being-trash

      Tha Carter 4-trash

My prediction for INAHB 2? Based on the singles and the tracklist alone, trash.

      1. I agree with your list other than the classic reference, i think those classics are good not classic n part 3 is avg

    58. All you Weezy haters are the biggest faggots ever. You lames think your so cool listening to your underground nerd rap that nobody cares about. If Weezy was so bad, than why the fuck was he MTV’s #5 Hottest MC last year? Weezy is the hottest rapper in the game, any of you pussies disagree, my number is 439-745-3356 so call me and we’ll see how tough you internet thugs are you bitch ass niggas.

    59. Broke ass haters already on here bitchin when they havent even heard the album. Like or not Wayne gonna keep gettin money and be richer than you broke asses. Wayne makin millions going platinum while yall whine like little bitches in your moms basement

      1. Fuck yourself you tight jeans wearing teenage faggot. You still live with your moms so STFU, be a man, and listen to some real rap, flamer.

      2. Bragging for another man doesnt make their music any better. It just makes you look ignorant. Typical wayne fan.

    60. There are pretty much two kinds of hip-hop fans. The fans that listen for entertainment purposes and the fans that listen for a deeper connection/the art. However, there are few that are open-minded enough to enjoy both. The entertainment fans tend to be younger and very easily influenced while the “art” fans tend to be older and very passionate and opinionated. Neither side is ever going to see anything eye when it comes to hip-hop. The only advice i could give is for everyone to stick to what they like and just avoid what they dont. The older fan are never going to understand today hip-hop because they grew up in the era where hip-hop wasnt so diverse and popular and the younger fans are never going to understand the older because they were not around or were not fan during that era and dont truly know what their missing and what those fans are fighting for.

      1. Co-Sign. Although most these kids won’t read your comment because it’s too long for them. BTW, I am one of the open-minded ones that enjoys both…I’m 21.

      2. I listen to Juicy J, 2 Chainz, El-P & Brother Ali. The former two because I find them entertaining (aka hilarious) and the latter two because they have a deeper meaning. And I’m 17.

      3. No one gives a rats ass about your age, doesn’t make you open minded when your a young fuck trying to connect on a wisdom level with the og’s listening to 90’s hiphop. Believe it or not there was also shitty music that was released at that time too. This nostalgic shit talking bout the “good ol days…” shows how easily we filter out all the shit that was also playing in the 90’s. There’s always gonna be shitty music and guess what in 10 years you’ll be even more cynnical about that shit thats playing

      4. co-sign. i also enjoy both.

I love Wayne for his entertaining lyrics and I got Kendrick, Soul and Lupe for lyricism.

      5. i understand what you are saying Oz F, there was definitely bad music in the 90’s but the difference between then and now is that there was a way better balance between the garbage and the good music and at the end of the day the good music out shined the trash. today we are bombarded with terrible music/rappers and fans get so sucked up into the celebrity status of their favorite rapper that we allow these rappers to release half-assed music and they have the fan so much by the balls that they know they can get away with it and their fans will still eat it up.

    61. You YMCMB haters are fucking idiots. Because I’m an accountant for Cash Money Records, I spend a lot of time with Birdman. He told me that in 96, Biggie was looking to get out of his contract with Bad Boy so he could sign with Cash Money. If Cash Money is right for Biggie, then it’s clearly the top record label. Unfortunately, Jay-Z and Diddy found out about Biggie’s upcoming departure and had him shot. Also, Birdman as always a role model for Pac. Most of you don’t know this, but the song Hit Em Up was originally supposed to be Split Em Up, a song where Pac brags about fucking Faith, leading to her breakup with BIG. But Birdman explained to Pac that real gangsta’s talking about killing people, so that’s how Hit Em Up took on such a violent tone.

YMCMB for life. We got the game by the clit.

      1. No credible CPA would ever be caught dead blogging about they’re clients finances, that’s how I know dentaldamboy either has unfulfilled dreams of becoming an accountant (which is why he blogs under his alter ego) or is just a paper pushing “tax preparer” that does the bitch work for actual accountants and isnt bound by a fiduciary standard so he gets to blog about his bosses clients like an employee groupie fuck nigga, dickriding his boss like a hoe.

    62. Im glad to hear that Wayne is back to rapping a bit faster then the usual, he actually sounds a bit hungry from time to time, the tempo suits him a lot better. But damn, you know that It’s bad tape when Gunplay outshines him with just a few bars.

The beats are slightly better then the usual, diffirent from the 100 MMG drumdroll beats you hear every day, but it falls as Wayne can’t keep up lyricaly.

Like someone said, take a break and stop this nonsense about pussy and fucking, it’s old.

    63. And lol, Soulja Boy must be hittin’ that sirup hard… he’s saying like 4 scentences in the 1 minute on the track he’s featured on.

He’s going to / has already smoked and dranked himself retarded. But that’s nothing new.

    64. Wow! Who da fuck is this journalist? Lil Wayne is definitely a rappers rapper. if u can’t see that what he’s doing then your just hating. Best album since Tha Carter

      1. J.cole already did a song with lil wayne, green ranger. And Cole’s verse was ass compared to Waynes. Nas was on Carter 4 with the “outro” compare the lyrics to Waynes “intro”… so that explains why they weren’t on this album. Waynes on his 10th studio album Cole aint even on his 2nd album and based on his first hes not having a classic anytime soon. Its about longevity Waynes been puttin on for a decade plus. Yeah ever since he started with the skateboard shit he’s been on a downward spiral, but thats only because the people who started hating him were the skater kids he was trying to be down with. If u haven’t heard Wayne on his hotboy shit way back when you can’t comment on his work cause u were only exposed to Wayne when your skater friend told u there was a rapper that was a poser fronting like he was a skater.

    65. The funny thing is, if you took lil wayne’s lyrics and had some other guy who is not popular rap them, all you lil wayne fans would think he was trash too.

      1. Yea the way these fans talk shows it has nothing to do with the music. Its just a complete obsession for this man. Kind of crazy.

    66. ….I gave it one star only because there I can’t give it zero…has he been getting with nikki minaj? It sounds like her ridiculous raps

    67. I think this album shows how Wayne has changed and progressed through the years. He isn’t the same Wayne as when he first came out with The Block is Hot. He is now a rapper that just wants to try new things and have fun with making music. He has done everything there is to do in hip hop. The music he is now putting out, is music that he is having fun with. He has nothing to prove, to anyone. Long live the best rapper alive. Best songs on the album are the Intro, Wowzers, Trigger finger, and Back to you.

    68. “Lil Wayne never has been nor never claimed to be a rappers rapper”

so what would you call him calling himself ‘the greatest rapper alive since the greatest rapper retired’?

    69. Who reviews these albums?! I don’t see how this is three stars. You’re basically ranking this with the new Demigodz or Ill Bill albums. Sure, they have a half more ranking, but that makes no sense. This at best is a one and a half/two out of 5 stars. If that. Wayne isn’t bringing anything new to the table. Lyrics are lame and beat selection is obvious.

    70. WOW. INAHB 2 IS A TERRIBLE ALBUM. I USED TO BE A WAYNE FAN, THA CARTER 1 AND 2 WERE FIRE. THA CARTER 3 AND THAT LOLLIPOP BULLSHIT IS WHERE HE STARTED TO GO DOWNHILL. AFTER THAT, HE PUT OUT NOTHING BUT TRASH. REBIRTH, INAHB 1, AND THA CARTER 4 WERE HORRIBLE. WITH INAHB 2, WAYNE SOUNDS UNINSPIRED AND WEAK, NO ARTISTIC PROGRESSION. WAYNE, PLEASE RETIRE BECAUSE YOU LOST IT.

    71. It’s funny how ALL the trolls on here (minus a couple) are Lil Wayne trolls, who post the same exact comments each time. Switch it the FUCK up and post some new original material!

    72. Call it how I see it, this is the worst project i’ve ever heard in a list of terrible efforts from Lil Wayne. I have never seen a SuperStar fall off the face of the earth like this dude. This album really is bad. No creativity, this should have been a mixtape if anything. Soulja Boy’s contribution was terrible & so was 2 Chainz. Nobody got away with anything on this album. From what it looks like it lacked the BUDGET of a Major Label artist. Where are the Dr.Dre’s & Kanye West’s of the world when it comes to the final product? They never show up on his albums. & what makes it worse is its length, the deluxe edition has 18 songs. take away the two tracks already on the radio, & the ONE good song on the album & HOT REVOLVER *made in 2009 you got 15 WACK ASS songs from the “Best Rapper Alive”. this album is WEAK, beyond what you expect from a legend. Easily knocks him out of conversation of “Top 10 All Time”

    73. Beat That Shit: “so beat the shit out of that pussy-ass nigga
beat the shit out of that pussy-ass nigga
      bitch-ass, ho-ass, pussy-ass niggas”- lil wayne
      whooo!! fuck yea
just listen to this song your ass going to be jumping around hahaha 😛

    74. He has never stayed the same he has always evolved—one thing has always stayed the same, he sells out theaters, he sells his series album at 1M/Week the first week, he always has niggas talking about him–always has features everywhere—and granted is much different than back in the day still takes the time to release a mixtape just for fans—My favorite rapper Eminem..when the fuck is the last EP or MIX he has officially released? -yet no one appreciates anything he does because they don’t see a human being, some of us do. Lil Wayne=Random Similies and Metaphors….Rap Today=Random Similies and Metaphors….for better or for worse he started a new generation of rap and he will always be the best at that style. As for IANAHB2, i fucking love that shit—i love that he put Hot Revolver as a fuck you for ever leaking it, and i love that he didnt stay with the rock theme he just used it as platform to get crazy as fuck—3.5/5

      1. How do you figure rap today is all random similies and metaphors? And how do you figure Wayne caused other people to rap like that? Damn bruh no hate towards Wayne, I used to love the dude’s music, but stop defending his bullshit with your bullshit.

    75. Best Wayne I have heard in years… Def better music and SONGS than most crap I have heard since I AM NOT A HUMAN 1… which was ass nuggets… along with the Carter 3 haha. THIS SHIT GO! Perfect combination of dope lines and commercial appeal… that is why Wayne will always sell.

I felt a lot of lines on this Album… little self reflection and plenty of RNS

      1. These niggas think they hard, these niggas just nipples. That’s a line from this album. To say this is better than Carter 3 is a sin, lmao. Fuck outta here

    76. THIS IS FAR TOO IMPORTANT NOT TO SHARE, PLEASE READ THE ARTICLE IN ITS ENTIRETY AND COME TO YOUR OWN CONCLUSION.

IF YOU SUPPORT REAL HIP HOP THEN HELP SPREAD THIS AROUND.

Since our employers had become silent investors in this prison business, it was now in their interest to make sure that these prisons remained filled. Our job would be to help make this happen by marketing music which promotes criminal behavior, rap being the music of choice. He assured us that this would be a great situation for us because rap music was becoming an increasingly profitable market for our companies, and as employee, wed also be able to buy personal stocks in these prisons.

“The Secret Meeting that Changed Rap Music and Destroyed a Generation”

Hello, After more than 20 years, I’ve finally decided to tell the world what I witnessed in 1991, which I believe was one of the biggest turning point in popular music, and ultimately American society. I have struggled for a long time weighing the pros and cons of making this story public as I was reluctant to implicate the individuals who were present that day. So I’ve simply decided to leave out names and all the details that may risk my personal well being and that of those who were, like me, dragged into something they weren’t ready for.

Between the late 80’s and early 90s, I was what you may call a decision maker with one of the more established company in the music industry. I came from Europe in the early 80s and quickly established myself in the business. The industry was different back then. Since technology and media werent accessible to people like they are today, the industry had more control over the public and had the means to influence them anyway it wanted. This may explain why in early 1991, I was invited to attend a closed door meeting with a small group of music business insiders to discuss rap musics new direction. Little did I know that we would be asked to participate in one of the most unethical and destructive business practice Ive ever seen.

The meeting was held at a private residence on the outskirts of Los Angeles. I remember about 25 to 30 people being there, most of them familiar faces. Speaking to those I knew, we joked about the theme of the meeting as many of us did not care for rap music and failed to see the purpose of being invited to a private gathering to discuss its future. Among the attendees was a small group of unfamiliar faces who stayed to themselves and made no attempt to socialize beyond their circle. Based on their behavior and formal appearances, they didn’t seem to be in our industry. Our casual chatter was interrupted when we were asked to sign a confidentiality agreement preventing us from publicly discussing the information presented during the meeting. Needless to say, this intrigued and in some cases disturbed many of us. The agreement was only a page long but very clear on the matter and consequences which stated that violating the terms would result in job termination. We asked several people what this meeting was about and the reason for such secrecy but couldn’t find anyone who had answers for us. A few people refused to sign and walked out. No one stopped them. I was tempted to follow but curiosity got the best of me. A man who was part of the unfamiliar group collected the agreements from us.

Quickly after the meeting began, one of my industry colleagues (who shall remain nameless like everyone else) thanked us for attending. He then gave the floor to a man who only introduced himself by first name and gave no further details about his personal background. I think he was the owner of the residence but it was never confirmed. He briefly praised all of us for the success we had achieved in our industry and congratulated us for being selected as part of this small group of decision makers. At this point I begin to feel slightly uncomfortable at the strangeness of this gathering. The subject quickly changed as the speaker went on to tell us that the respective companies we represented had invested in a very profitable industry which could become even more rewarding with our active involvement. He explained that the companies we work for had invested millions into the building of privately owned prisons and that our positions of influence in the music industry would actually impact the profitability of these investments. I remember many of us in the group immediately looking at each other in confusion. At the time, I didnt know what a private prison was but I wasn’t the only one. Sure enough, someone asked what these prisons were and what any of this had to do with us. We were told that these prisons were built by privately owned companies who received funding from the government based on the number of inmates. The more inmates, the more money the government would pay these prisons. It was also made clear to us that since these prisons are privately owned, as they become publicly traded, wed be able to buy shares. Most of us were taken back by this. Again, a couple of people asked what this had to do with us. At this point, my industry colleague who had first opened the meeting took the floor again and answered our questions. He told us that since our employers had become silent investors in this prison business, it was now in their interest to make sure that these prisons remained filled. Our job would be to help make this happen by marketing music which promotes criminal behavior, rap being the music of choice. He assured us that this would be a great situation for us because rap music was becoming an increasingly profitable market for our companies, and as employee, wed also be able to buy personal stocks in these prisons. Immediately, silence came over the room. You could have heard a pin drop. I remember looking around to make sure I wasn’t dreaming and saw half of the people with dropped jaws. My daze was interrupted when someone shouted, Is this a f****** joke? At this point things became chaotic. Two of the men who were part of the unfamiliar group grabbed the man who shouted out and attempted to remove him from the house. A few of us, myself included, tried to intervene. One of them pulled out a gun and we all backed off. They separated us from the crowd and all four of us were escorted outside. My industry colleague who had opened the meeting earlier hurried out to meet us and reminded us that we had signed agreement and would suffer the consequences of speaking about this publicly or even with those who attended the meeting. I asked him why he was involved with something this corrupt and he replied that it was bigger than the music business and nothing wed want to challenge without risking consequences. We all protested and as he walked back into the house I remember word for word the last thing he said, Its out of my hands now. Remember you signed an agreement. He then closed the door behind him. The men rushed us to our cars and actually watched until we drove off.

A million things were going through my mind as I drove away and I eventually decided to pull over and park on a side street in order to collect my thoughts. I replayed everything in my mind repeatedly and it all seemed very surreal to me. I was angry with myself for not having taken a more active role in questioning what had been presented to us. I’d like to believe the shock of it all is what suspended my better nature. After what seemed like an eternity, I was able to calm myself enough to make it home. I didn’t talk or call anyone that night. The next day back at the office, I was visibly out of it but blamed it on being under the weather. No one else in my department had been invited to the meeting and I felt a sense of guilt for not being able to share what I had witnessed. I thought about contacting the 3 others who wear kicked out of the house but I didn’t remember their names and thought that tracking them down would probably bring unwanted attention. I considered speaking out publicly at the risk of losing my job but I realized Id probably be jeopardizing more than my job and I wasn’t willing to risk anything happening to my family. I thought about those men with guns and wondered who they were? I had been told that this was bigger than the music business and all I could do was let my imagination run free. There were no answers and no one to talk to. I tried to do a little bit of research on private prisons but didnt uncover anything about the music business involvement. However, the information I did find confirmed how dangerous this prison business really was. Days turned into weeks and weeks into months. Eventually, it was as if the meeting had never taken place. It all seemed surreal. I became more reclusive and stopped going to any industry events unless professionally obligated to do so. On two occasions, I found myself attending the same function as my former colleague. Both times, our eyes met but nothing more was exchanged.

As the months passed, rap music had definitely changed direction. I was never a fan of it but even I could tell the difference. Rap acts that talked about politics or harmless fun were quickly fading away as gangster rap started dominating the airwaves. Only a few months had passed since the meeting but I suspect that the ideas presented that day had been successfully implemented. It was as if the order has been given to all major label executives. The music was climbing the charts and most companies when more than happy to capitalize on it. Each one was churning out their very own gangster rap acts on an assembly line. Everyone bought into it, consumers included. Violence and drug use became a central theme in most rap music. I spoke to a few of my peers in the industry to get their opinions on the new trend but was told repeatedly that it was all about supply and demand. Sadly many of them even expressed that the music reinforced their prejudice of minorities.

I officially quit the music business in 1993 but my heart had already left months before. I broke ties with the majority of my peers and removed myself from this thing I had once loved. I took some time off, returned to Europe for a few years, settled out of state, and lived a quiet life away from the world of entertainment. As the years passed, I managed to keep my secret, fearful of sharing it with the wrong person but also a little ashamed of not having had the balls to blow the whistle. But as rap got worse, my guilt grew. Fortunately, in the late 90s, having the internet as a resource which wasn’t at my disposal in the early days made it easier for me to investigate what is now labeled the prison industrial complex. Now that I have a greater understanding of how private prisons operate, things make much more sense than they ever have. I see how the criminalization of rap music played a big part in promoting racial stereotypes and misguided so many impressionable young minds into adopting these glorified criminal behaviors which often lead to incarceration. Twenty years of guilt is a heavy load to carry but the least I can do now is to share my story, hoping that fans of rap music realize how theyve been used for the past 2 decades. Although I plan on remaining anonymous for obvious reasons, my goal now is to get this information out to as many people as possible. Please help me spread the word. Hopefully, others who attended the meeting back in 1991 will be inspired by this and tell their own stories. Most importantly, if only one life has been touched by my story, I pray it makes the weight of my guilt a little more tolerable.

      Thank you

      1. You should have blew the whistle anywhere between 1991-1998.. You could have been a hero or a martyr, a man known for standing up for something huge!!!! You could have saved thousands of LIVES!!!! you could have saved the true essence of HIP-HOP!!!! But I still respect you for sharing this, even if it’s too little, too late.. I hope this helps you find peace my brother, that was a big burden to have to carry..

      2. So your best idea was to post this on a Lil Wayne album review?

        Ganster Rap never existed
You were top label exec yet not smart enough to know the 90’s had libraries?
Who the hell researches on the internet?

If this was true and some master conspiracy, you don’t think the Feds they pay to frequent these sites would just get your IP and burn you before you say another word?

      3. Nice story. But it’s bullshit. Private prisons are real that’s a fact. More inmates = more money. But if you are committing crimes because of some fucking rap song you need your head checked. And if you do, then you deserve to get locked up and fucked up your tight ass. So if they story is real or not I really don’t care. You are still getting plugged, hahaha.

      4. Yep, Is kind of makes since. Business runs things in America. If the people who control the music don’t really give a damn about it where do you think its going. Hip hop could be on such a higher level today. It all goes back to NWA vs Public Enemy.

    77. I Am Not A Human Being 2 is EASILY album of the year! It beats the fuckin shit out of that gay ass pop radio album KenDICK LAME-ar put out “GKMC”

      IANAHB 2 >>>>> GKMC

      LONG LIVE WEEZY!

      1. You got those backwards. GKMC is an infinity times better album than INAHB2. INAHB2 is the gay-ass pop radio album.

        GKMC>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>a dog turd>>>>>>>>>>>>INAHB2

    78. Album isnt as bad as the haters are saying it is, and it isnt as good as the stans proclaiming it.

It is completely average by Wayne’s standards. Most of the songs bang like- rich as fuck, trippin, gunwalk, days and days, no worries…

You got the amazingly lyrical song “God Bless America”
      – “My mind’s filled with mine fields”
“Food for thought, momma say take whatever you want,
      I took heed.”

There are some damn good punchlines and metaphors. Flows are tight on the songs mentioned above.

But ultimately the excessive pussy talk gets repetitive and some of the rock songs messes up the coherence of the project.

It is still worth a listen for any hiphop fan looking for enjoyment. “I bought a R&R because I came from rags to riches”

      1. There are some down right uninspired lines on the album…horrific lines.

“These niggas think they hard, these niggas just nipples”…

his most vintage sounding verses are on the song with Souljaboy.

      2. yeah forgot to mention ‘trigger finger’ and ‘beat the shit’.

even the line you mentioned is kinda funny. lots of absurd lines too.

    79. the album is good point blank. haters gonna hate no matter what wayne puts out, if it was really garbage why would so many ppl be buying it???

      1. No one buys Cd’s anymore you fucking retard. Even the line “I’ll download it, but if it’s good I will buy it”. We all know that line is straight fucking bullshit. I don’t even know what a CD is anymore. The numbers put out by record companies are bullshit. They lie. I would like to see you prove the garbage statistics they release are 100% accurate, because you can’t. I don’t need to prove anything because they are all fucking liars and I’m always right. Oh yeah, NO ONE BUYS CD’s anymore. And if you do you are a fag.

    80. Ha isnt it funny how polarized people are about Lil Wayne? Lol, either u think he’s 100% trash or he’s so good nobody can tell u different. Im more in the center, but lets face it this album was mediocre at best. Not to hate on Weezy but this was pretty weak 2.5/5

    81. Wayne’s flow has gotten too predictable….his flow consists entirely of punchlines and similies. None of them which have anything to do with each other. You will NEVER be able to guess what the name of the song wold be if u had listened to the song without looking at the title. Such a talent that could have made a dent in history. Oh well, not surprised.

    82. STop it with the Lil Wayne Jay-Z comparisons. Just stop it. It’s like comparing LeBron to Jordan. Just plain ignorant.

IANAHM2 is Wayne’s 10th album. BP3 was Hov’s 11TH. Counting collaboration albums like Watch The Throne and Best Of Both Worlds, Jay-Z has 15 albums, 12 of which are #1’s. IANAHM2 will be Wayne’s 4th #1.

Jay-Z sold 31 million records in the US ALONE, with his Highest selling album (Vol. 2) selling 8 mill worldwide. Wayne has only sold 8 million TOTAL, with highest selling (C3) moving 3 mill.

      Jay-Z has 4 #1 singles. Wayne has 2.

At metacritic, which is a site that averages the ratings of all album reviews from publications like Rolling Stone and XXL, Jay-Z has an overall score of 75/100, one of the highest for a rapper; with his highest rated album (The Blueprint) receiving an 88/100, indicating “universal acclaim”. Lil Wayne has a score of 62/100, not bad but not Hov. His highest rated album (Tha Carter III) received an 82/100.

The only the Wayne has more of than Jay-Z are mixtapes, tatoos, and fairweather fans that love him now but will be no where to be found 10 years from now.

Is Lil Wayne better than Jay-Z right now? Depends on who you ask. Is Lil Wayne better overall? NOT A CHANCE.

Its still up for debate weather Jay-Z is the best to ever do it or not, but Wayne is no where near this mans legacy. PERIOD.

This album gets a 3/5 from me btw. Average.

      1. lebron and jordan? are you serious? Wayne has had like 1-2 good albums. His career is nothing like those bball legends.

    83. Average. Didn’t make me any more of a fan or any less.

Tha Block Is Hot – 3.5/5
      Lights Out – 3/5
      500 Degreez – 3/5
      Tha Carter – 4.5/5
      Tha Carter II – 5/5
      Tha Carter III – 4.5/5
      Rebirth – 1/5
      I Am Not A Human Being – 3/5
      Tha Carter IV – 3/5
      I Am Not A Human Being 2 – 2.5/5

Dude is 10 albums in. I’m for quality over quantity. He needs another classic to cement his position.

      1. Sorry, I was wrong. Lil Wayne doesn’t have any classics.

Tha Block Is Hot – 1/5 (trash)
        Lights Out – 1/5 (trash)
        500 Degreez – 1/5 (trash)
        Tha Carter – 3/5 (ok)
Tha Carter II – 4/5 (good)
Tha Carter III – 3/5 (ok)
        Rebirth – 1/5 (trash)
        I Am Not A Human Being – 1/5 (trash)
Tha Carter IV – 1/5 (trash)
        I Am Not A Human Being 2 – 1/5 (trash)

      2. nick t edited is right. Carter 2 is his best and the only thing of Wayne’s that you could call a good album.

    84. How many of y’all was sitting waiting for this day, to come on hear and bash this man album. It didn’t matter what it sound like, as soon as some people see Wayne name, they want to hate all the sudden. He still going to go platinum, and if nothing else I’ll always support weezy. weezy support the people with his worth ethic, and been doin so since 98′.. Artist know what they put it out, it’s all for marketing purposes.. If every album was fire, you never give yourself to improve on the next one. look at game, you can tell he took his time with this one. He had a point to prove. weezy probably recorded all this shit in 2-3 days and called it a album. it’s gone take other niggaz to keep coming harder, to get the best out of the established greats.. Look eminem didn’t start goin back hard, til weezy started murdering it. These guys all know what there doing. Just let them get there money, it’s a entertainment business.

    85. What happened to this Lil Wayne

Y’all take them shoes off your teeth
      Stop runnin your mouth
No shoes, no feet, I’ll run in your mouth
I’ll come to your house, me and my goons
Loadin up bangers, ridin under the moon
Throwin up fingers sayin “My side rule” – Hit em up – Carter II

      1. WORD UP! But you forgot the best part to close of your Wayne lyrics.

        “If a nigga disagree, it’s a must I prove” – GANGSTA!

    86. the problem here is that most of the people on here who dislike this album are the same people who go out their way to hate on everything wayne puts out. Im pretty sure that these people are only upset because wayne is gettin the attention that they feel that their favorite rapper should be getting. It like they want wayne to be a copy and paste version of some shit nas did 15years ago. His style isnt based upon doing deep intelectual shit. he’s not going to do alot of deep/concept songs because thats not what he good at. all the hate seems to stem form people from of the northern region who cant accept the fact that wayne has got his foot stuck knee deep in your favorite rapper ass

      1. There is absolutely no doubt people go out of their way to hate, but that’s NOT just the case for Wayne. I’ve been a Mobb Deep fan for 20 years. You gonna tell me people don’t go out their way to hate on the Mobb? Wayne gets his hate because of his overexposure. And what’s being exposed is trash music at its worst. I’ll admit, I’ve NEVER like Wayne or any of Cash Money or No Limit. EVER. Part of it could be that I grew up on EPMD, Public Enemy, BDP, Kane, Nas, Wu-Tang etc. Or the other part could be that I was already a grown ass man when that shit (Drop It Like It’s Hot) started coming out. It has nothing to do with “Northeners” coming out to hate because I’m from NYC and also came up on Scarface, Outkast, UGK, Geto Boys, etc. The hate is coming from all regions because Wayne’s shit is THAT bad. Face it.

And I’d like to see Wayne make even the slightest attempt to put his foot knee deep in Ghostface Killah’s ass. That’s my favorite MC. 12 Reason’s to Die coming soon……

    87. If ban women from buying shit, his album will lose 80% of sales.

Women consistently fuck up all forms of music, not just hip hop.

Look at the people who get shine now? Drake? Lil Wayne? Justin Bieber? I mean, you could virtually name any really big artist who’s doing big numbers and they have a significant female fanbase. Because women are idiots and only just by what they find attractive, not actual talent. Even soulja boy is still around because of his female fanbase. You’ll never see a dude buy a chicks album just because he finds her attractive, but women do this type of shit all the time. Ban woman from music, and you’ve fixed a good chunk of the issue.

      1. you are the definition of stupid.

if men actually went out and supported the artists that they like then maybe true lyricists would get some shine.

also majority of the album purchasers in america are WHITE. meaning that white people are the determining factors behind whos a superstar and whos not simply cus blacks dont support each other. we tear each other down. there are so many ways to tear down your statement… youre an idiot. live with that

      2. Im white and hate mainstream music. just the simple fact everybody is a moron.

you need to have a PhD degree to understand good music.

        good luck black people. 😉

    88. Get Weezy back on syrup. The last album he made on it: Carter III. His last good album: Carter III. Same goes with Eminem; Hasn’t been able to flow like he used to since he was cooked on drugs.

      1. Cough syrup? But “I’m riccccch as fuck” Addicted to cough syrup is all I need to know about this fucking piece of trash. Seriously? Cough syrup? Just because there a NEATO slang word for it doesn’t make it any cooler. Fucking pathetic. What’s next cutting up Bounce sheets and doing lines? Fuck outta here. Lil Wayne needs to overdose. He is unoriginal. Boring. No talent. Every fucking song is money, hoes, money, hoes, money. Go jump off a cliff fag. Go YouTube the VladTV video where that chick tells it like it is about Lil Wayne. He is a boring nobody. Addicted to drugs. He is a fucking loser. I don’t care if peeps do drugs. But I got no time for ones who cant handle their business.

    89. the piano track is nice, but they really should have used a real piano–the cheap keyboard sounds high-pitched and mildly unbearable. Hello is nice. Rock works great for Wayne – don’t care what folks say about Rebirth. Everything else is generic, the lyrics are obnoxious for the most part.

    90. Justin Timberlake is still No. 1 on iTunes… Weezy lost! Timberlake’s album set for second week at No. 1.

    91. f u dx this shit is boarderline crap and you know it evry other site has said it your just baised ymcmb dick riders

      1. @DAMN did you even read the review properly? or are you just slow? they clearly said the album was trash too read the review again and this time slowly.

    92. Sorry but this is BASURA! Its so hard listening to it, gave me hearing AIDS!Where did his ghostwriters go after Tha Carter III?

    93. This album sucks so much ass!!!!!! Garbage garbage garbage!!!!! I admit I gave up on Lil Wayne a long time ago, but yet I’m like a kid in a candy store waiting every time he drops a new album because I want him to prove me wrong and he doesn’t!!! He always reminds me of why i quit listening to him and buying his music . All the guy raps about is his Dick, pussy, hoes, bitches, weed, drugs. None of his songs make any sense. This dude should be banned from making music. This dude has potential to be great but i honestly don’t think he’ll ever reinvent himself. He should’ve just over dosed. Best song on the album was a BONUS with big Sean. That’s embarrassing. Also i lost count on how many time he mentions his Dick or sucking pussy. Dumb drugged up jackass . I give this album a quarter of a star

      1. signs of the times….keep people dumbed down and distracted with partying..drugs, alchohol, and sick….Who can think straight with intelligence with this shit going on constantly? And Lil wayne personifies this message.

    95. Album is trash. A few alright beats, but it’s almost like Wayne is just trolling his fans on some “I can do whatever I want and these idiots will buy it.” He needs to stop trying these rock and roll singing songs and just get back to the basics. The dude who was shown in The Carter documentary has disappeared, there is no passion in his delivery and rhymes. On The Carter 3 you can tell he was enjoying himself with how animated his flows were, but this is just inexcusable. Glad I didn’t pay for it. This is his equivalent to when Eminem made Encore – Horrid.

    96. Lil Wayne proves he iz da best rapper alive. Weezy is still a lyrical genius on diz album. da first track IANAHB , grabs you and holds you through da last track. awesome work and I expect even greater music on hiz next album. swag

      @haterz

stop hatin a rich nigga, bitchez. Lil Tunechi is mo talented and looks better den yall. he is a brilliant MC, guitar hero, pro-skater, skilled singer, epic actor, blood nigga and great father. no doubt he iz my role model. long live Weezy aka da King of Hip Hop. swag

      1. Pro-skater? You obviously haven’t seen the dude skate. He needs to stick to skating and go ruin the cred of another industry.

    97. PS

where iz Eminem at? where iz Jay-Z at. dey will never outsell Tha Carter III and Tha Carter IV. fuck deze devil worshiper old ass niggaz … diz album will prove again Weezy iz da best sellin MC of all time. long live Weezy F. swag

      1. you have to be smoking some new strain of crack dude… lil wayne hasn’t out sold jay z what makes you think he could out sell Em or 2pac… wayne isnt even close to even be mentioned with those dudes… you better go check your numbers..wayne music is awful..

    98. Surprisingly, a Lil Wayne album sucks ass. Even without clicking the article you already know the shit will be lazy and sub-par. This guy has been phoning it in for years, it’s quantity over quality for Wayne and I’m surprised everyone isn’t just done with this talentless oversaturated hack by now.

Oh, and anyone who says Wayne is a “lyrican genius” is a total dimwit, seriously. You’ve only proved you have a poor taste and know nothing about hip hop and hot bars. I don’t necessarily hate Wayne, but honestly there’s nothing to like, either. Totally mediocre rapper in all aspects.

    99. This nigga is trash. He has not spit a hot bar since the carter 2 days. He is falling off. He better switch up his subject matter or something.

    100. Really that’s sad how nigga’s hate nowadays I mean like he making money off this. He has the best metaphors and lyrics ever. And besides he don’t give a fuck about you haters

      1. If you think he has the best lyrics and metaphors than you must not listen to much other hip-hop. Or just other goofy ass rapper like 2chains.

He actually has some of the most redundant and dumbed down lyrics out there.

      2. Slurpie slurp, how’s that junkie dick taste?

Who the fuck cares about how much money he makes, apparently not enough to afford a deceng ghostwriter. Whatever dude makes doesn’t make him dope or help you one penny so stop dickriding. Money has never been the milestone by which to define a great lyricist, if anything all this wack soulless money, gold, chains derpaderp swaggot talk has ruined rap.

    101. This makes Justin Timberlake’s music like gold

Lil wayne is so overrated its unreal, his content is like satanic, awful

    102. I will never understand how people still think this guy is good. He raps about nothing. The chorus…lol….look at you….look at us…rich as fuck….hahaha.

This is sing-a-long rap meant for teenagers.

    103. People that listen to this and actually think it is good, cannot be smart people. Society is getting dumber by the day.

When 16 year old high school girls say their favorite artist is Wayne, then you have to realize how lame he is…

    104. so the good folks at HipHopDX think IANAHB 2 is as good as Jesus Piece…..FOH this album makes JP look like a classic

    105. signs of the times….keep people dumbed down and distracted with partying..drugs, alchohol, and sick….Who can think straight with intelligence with this shit going on constantly? And Lil wayne personifies this message. And at this point is leading a charge

    106. I meant sex…and instead of “sick”…..well come to think of it…SEX CAN MAKE YOU SICK…..LMAO!

    107. Number of references to his dick: 27
Number of references to having sex: 63
Number of times ‘Bitch’ is said: 102
Number of times he says ‘Nigga’: 182
Number of references to getting head: 23
Number of references to eating pussy: 26
Number of references to Trukfit: 6
Number of references to shooting people (himself not included): 38
Number of references to marijuana: 39
Number of references to lean/drank: 7
Number of references to pills: 3
Number of references to animals: 14
Number of references to extraterrestrial activity: 5
Number of references to YMCMB artists: 9
Number of references to skating: 5

      1. LMFAOROTF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wayne tho, even tho this album ain’t that good still appreciate Tunechi as an artist

      2. Bitch ass haters take time of THEIR lifes to count what Weezy says.

Weezy spends NO TIME analyzing yalls life hahaha

        YMCMB!

      3. If these numbers are correct then this album should have been called the dick-sucking bitch meets a pussy eating nigga mixtape

      4. @that innaprize- Those numbers are prob an estimate or an underestimate, need to bail up wayne tell him you have a perfect name for the album. Found ” the dick-sucking bitch meets a pussy eating nigga mixtape” funny as fuck

      5. i didnt take the time out of MY life to count those, someone from complex mag did. i would say those numbers are the the bare minimums, chances are they missed a bunch too

    108. I listened to this album like 5 times in a row, it grows on you after a while. It’s actually got better beats than Kendrick Lamar’s good kid maad city:

I’d give wayne 7 for lyrics and 9 for beats

I’d give Kendrick 8 for lyrics and 3 for those fruity loops beats

Therefore wayne just outdid Kendrick without even trying

      1. your opinion is invalid because you listened to this trash 5 times

fruity loop beats? nah nigga. soulja boy and chief keef have fruit loop beats

      2. As much of a Wayne Fan as i am, no lie waynes lyrics are actually kinda wack, he’s trying to go too comercial insyead of being true to himself. Have to say this tho, Waynes got nothing on Good Kid,M.a.a.d. city

      3. wayne gets 3 for lyrics- i couldnt listen past 45 seconds in each song before i skip it..beats are solid..but he gets a 1 for his annoying ass voice- waynes over

    109. Wayne fell the fuck off. this album is another proof. Its been what…like 3-4 straight trash albums (Rebirth, IANAHB, C4, IANAHB2)…and a couple of weak mixtapes (D4 and the one before)??? Wayne’s done!!!

2 stars only cuz that track with Drake/Future is kinda good

    110. This review was the first I have read out of a small list that I believe is 100% on point ! It’s a ok album to the average listener but he could have put in more and made it way better

    111. How did this score the same as Swollen Members – Beautiful Death Machine?

These reviews are whack. This album should get 2 stars MAX

    112. anyone giving a bad review is trippin i listen to the album loved it not the commercial songs but the rest you want lyrical buy an album from a rapper dat aint from the south, My bad there’s none. music is made to enjoy. Loved it

    113. “Justin Timberlake is still No. 1 on iTunes… Weezy lost! Timberlake’s album set for second week at No. 1.”

Is this even album been released yet?

    114. Trash. How many times can you think of one way to say you’re getting pussy ? apparently 1 million.

    115. Every new rapper copies off Lil Wayne! For Example:

      -KenDICK LAME-ar
      -A$$WIPE Rocky
      -Joey BitchA$$$

      etc.

Wayne is the father to these niggas. He is a legend! IANAHB 2 exceeds Illmatic, All Eyez on Me, etc.

Weezy IS and will ALWAYS be the KIGN of HIP HOP!

      LONG LIVE WEEZY!

      1. THA FUCK, ofcourse wayne inspired them new artist, and i know Waynes a Legend, but you’ve lost your fucking mind & if you think Tune’s new music is better than any of the artist above, you must be on some bad kush and toilet water. Fuck Fuck Fuck, i’m so irritated right now. I’m not even gonna go on to the topic of illmatic cause you dumber than a dumbass. I’m one of Wayne’s biggest fans and you’re just chatting SHIT.

      2. hes right wayne does inspire rappers. not to be as shitty as he is rapping bec they realize they can actually kill their own careers doing to much drugs and rappin like a 10 year old. and since he looks like a martian with 100 tattoos on his face lookin like a fuckin roadmap people will just realize hes a clown and move on

      3. ok im done…im where i dont suppose to be. learn what hip hop is and get back with me Wayne is the king of savages a savage is one who has no knowledge of self in the pursuit of happiness

    116. You tight jeans wearing faggots giving this anything more than a 2 should just get it over with and come out of the closet already. Y’all don’t know shit about rap. Embarassing.

      1. You dont know shit about rap. If a nigga wanna express dumb shit, let him express dumb shit., I like Wayne & Eminem. Hell his white ass had a few songs that suck far more than Wayne’s.
Listen to Eminem’s FACK, and dare call IANAHB2 bullshit

      2. if a nigga wanna express dumb shit he needs to not broadcast it to the world because people are prone to follow dumb shit. That’s like Martin luther king telling us to smoke crack…

    117. Ya’ll trippin! This may not be the greatest album of all time but theres some bangers on there.

      “Days and Days” is fire
      “Gunwalk” is hard as fuck
I wasn’t feeling “no worries” until I banged that shit in the wip.
      “Trigger Finger” IS FUCKING HARD
      “Beat the Shit” Fire
“Rich as fuck” is a banger
“God bless Amerika” wizzy goes in and the beat is fire
“Lay it down” is a banger

    118. This album is trash!!! its made for kids!! not real hip hop heads! He aint talking bout shit at all! this shit is sorry! every song sounds the same!

    119. Is the writer aware that the term fodder refers to dung, shit, poop, excrement? He totally just shat on Wayne. But why say, ‘lacing his fodder.” Just letting us know outright you’re not a fan? Way to be unbiased. I dislike Wayne outside of C 1/2 and those early tape- suffix was raw. But, damn

    120. to the person that called every one fags and tight jean wearing you should please remember that wayne is always in tight jeans i didn’t even listen to the album yet and i wont he has no lyrical ability at all

      1. yo go do the history U.T.F.O. Grandmaster Flash and alot of the fore fathers of rap wore skinny jeans they just didnt have their ass hanging out of them….lol

      1. U slow as fuck u prolly dont know hip hop u dumbass cause they was saying hip hop was dead when tupac and biggie was rapping u damn idiot

      2. ^ hell no!! rap was at its peak all through the 90’s. now we have 4-5 good albums a year, and the rest is complete crap, thanks to dudes like wayne.

      3. you want really know hip hop until you become hands on with it experience it, live with it, grow up with it, it becomes apart of your life, yall niggaz probably never made a rap song, drew graffiti, break dance or nothing but wanna talk like yall know this shit…hit the studio and get back at me

    121. Its not his best album but its far from being horrible. He got club bangers and still got songs that make u think

    122. If you were expecting carter wayne than dont get it those days are long gone. take the cd as is, it aint trash, and its not the best

    123. I’m a man, and I swear I WANNA MAKE LOVE TO WAYNE SO BADLY IT HURTS. I can’t believe how…OOOOOOOOOO….how sexy this nigga is. Not trying to sound nasty or nothing. GAY PRIDE YAY.

Ban woman from music, and you’ve fixed a good chunk of the issue!

      1. I hate how misogynistic this comment is, but I can’t lie, I get fcking heated when I see an artist, who’s falling off, being kept afloat by his female fanbase.

Female fanservice is rarely talked about, but it’s a growing issue in the hip-hop community. I’m not saying banning women is the solution, but there DEFINITELY needs to be some sort of discourse on this subject to draw more attention to this growing issue.

      2. agree with all of yall. shit pisses me off, but there really isn’t anything you can do about it. these females just care about what’s popular or what they can dance to smh

      3. I fully agree. As 2Pac once said, you have to make songs for the bitches because the bitches will buy it and he niggas will also buy it for their bitch to listen too. He put the wheels on the bus years ago.

      4. i wouldnt want to ban women from music especially if they are the number one consumers of music. as and artist i will lead them in another direction.

    125. yall trippin wayne is evolving with music Name me an artist talking about something on their last album that sold something???? appreciate the music and for those hating on how much we talks about pussy mabye u need sum more then u wud feel him!

      1. Are you being serious? The young kid in the game, Kendrick, just went platinum on an album that actually had content and messages.

Even as a new kid, he proved that if you’re actually skilled and have content, it will fcking sell. Get your Weezy dickriding ass out of here.

      2. A message? What message? The only message this album has is to fuck bitches, sip lean, and other shit. Nigga above me was right. GKMC had substance and actually sold some. Life is Good had decent numbers and had a great message. Shit even MBDTF (last major album before LIG) had some substance and meaning on most of the songs. Not one song on this shit has meaning.

      3. wayne is stuck in the same place he was in 2 yrs ago. he cant elevate no higher. money don’t describe your skills you make money off ur skills. he’s made money so he has skills i guess but i know some broke niggaz who will put this cat back in basic training

    126. This is trash. Seriously, what do you guys see in this? Wayne has been wack since Carter 3 came out and he started doing that “A Milli” and “Lollipop” bullshit, then he became a wannabe rock star. Heard the whole album. Wack beats, wacker lyrics, lame ass punchlines, and no kind skill or effort put into this. I pray that Wayne either gets locked up again for a longer time or retires from rap and never returns

      1. I pray that Lil Wayne get’s a 5th teardrop for killing you. Then your prayer for him going to jail may get answered
Carter 3 sold more copies than any album you have ever listened to.

      2. Carter 3 has sold 4 million copies to this date. I can name way better albums that have sold more than that trash album.

    127. “Life is Good had decent numbers and had a great message”

And what was that, it’s ok for an old guy to bore young guys too death?

      1. That’s the problem. I know some young niggas that were really bumpin LIG. But of course stupid ignorant niggas who listen to the typical Chief Keef, Lil Wayne, and 2 Chainz will be bored because it has substance unlike this pussy, money, weed rap with played out trap beats and wack autotune hooks.

      2. it will only bore the deaf dumb and blind who has no type of knowledge of self their history or their future. it only shows that some or most of us are victims of propaganda. i didn’t really like Life is good but as far as the structure of it it was good no one makes albums any more… big up to kendrick lamar for doing so

    128. Listened to the snippets and this was just awful bullshit. Maybe 2 good songs. Wayne sounded like he was in a drug induced state. How else do you explain his rambling like a moron? At leas On Carter IV he seemed to be having fun with his punchlines and beats. This was definately his cry for help album.

      1. I couldn’t agree more, I downloaded the whole album expecting it to have a decent amount of good music as I have come to expect from his albums; sadly, I only kept 2 songs.

    129. Different from everything he usually makes. It was good compared to what people were expecting. The intro to the album was beautiful. Nothing phenomenal, but something to remember.

    130. Are yu stupid or retarded there’s a difference between rap and hiphop..,Wayne is a rapper cause he raps. Kendrick Lamar is an MC cause he does hiphop. Kings of hiphop are jay z nas tupac krs one afrika bambaataa, etc……Kings if rap are Wayne,tyga,2chainz, riff raff, soulja boy, lil b ,future, etc.

      1. Actually dumbass, hip hop is the culture of rap music. Even if you don’t like the shit Wayne puts out (which I don’t like either)it’s still technically rap. Rap is the music and hip hop is the culture.

      2. First of all you got it mixed up. Rap and hiphop are two different things, but rap isn’t just rappers and hip hop isnt just mc’s. Hip hop is a culture composed of 4 elements: Bboying (breakdancing) The DJ, the MC, and Grafitti. Rap is a subsection of hip hop music. If your referring to hip hop music it can not only refer to rap music but also genres like funk. Lil Wayne is what i like to call a rapper who is an imitation of rap music but is really a pop artist. Rap music to me isn’t just about the lyrical skills of the MC but also the beat and the subject matter. TO me hip hop was all about being true and expressing emotions and feelings in a elegant yet raunchy manner and i think Lil Wayne is someone who sticks to what he knows. I’m not a fan of wayne but he has a couple of good punch lines here and there like “i don’t talk to them cops i dont speak pig latin” etc. HIs beats and his repetitive statements are to me not rap music but rather pop. He is a rapper but not a MC. I think we are coming back to the days where rap music was bout emotions and feelings by MC’s like Kendrick, joey, Big KRIT, J cole, the whole TDE camp, most of the GOOD MUSIC camp besides 2 Chainz (yes even Big Sean, he has meaningful records) even Drake, i mean i don’t like it when he sings but i do like it when he does MC. 5 AM in the morning was an example of that. Rick Ross is a true MC at times as long as he doesn’t do his infamous trap music. Hope this opened ur eyes about hip hop culture

      3. I was with you until you mentioned Drake and Rick Ross. Those niggas are not MCs. Drake is an R&B singer/pop rapper and Rick Ross is a fake rapper with zero lyrical skills.

      4. yep there is a bridge between the two. rap is the offspring of hip hop. hip hop is more cultural whereas rap is more of a trend that comes from the culture.

    131. Heard 4 songs and its just terrible punchline after terrible punchline after terrible punchline… its literally so bad its funny. I wouldn’t usually rate an album without hearing the majority of it, but based off reviews, the quality of Wayne’s stuff recently, and how awful the 4 or 5 song I heard were, its safe to say this is 1 star.

      1. EXACTLY!!!! The Stans talk about the Dedication and the Carter series but I didn’t think he weas great on any of those either. Carter 2 is the album I could stomach and that was only average.

      2. The only time Wayne was decent was from his early Cash Money days till the 2nd Carter album. After that he started doing this homosexual thing he does now.

    132. DOWNLOADED THIS ONE LAST NIGHT. THIS ALBUM CANNOT SIT ON THE SAME SHELF AS “READY TO DIE” “ILLMATIC” “BLUEPRINT1” OR EVEN “GKMC”. IF NOTHING ELSE, WE SHOULD THANK WAYNE FOR BLESSING US WITH ANOTHER WEEDPLATE. SOMEWHERE, CHINGY WOULD BE PROUD!!!

    133. Best comedic album. Although it’s just showing that Wayne is constantly becoming both a worse rapper and more ridiculous lyricist “She swallow so many nuts, you fuck around, find a squirrel in her throat”

    134. This has got to be the biggest sack of dog shit released EVER. This is not just a disgrace to music, it’s a disgrace to humanity. Can you imagine another intelligent species actually hears this garbage and judges our race based on this album. We’re FUCKED.

    135. The only person that can get Wayne back on his A-GAME…is Mannie Fresh…dudes next album…which should be his last for AWHILE..needs to be produce by mannie…manny needs to produce like 85% of it.

    136. anyone else thinks that lil wayne could have faked being hospitalized? I mean he had an album coming out in a week with little promotion and then conveniently gets all the headlines and people talking about him just before his album is released?

    137. As a grown ass man there is no way possible that I can listen to another grown ass man tell me about how he eats and fucks pussy over the course of a 17 track mixtape. Sorry, I just can’t do it.

P.S. Why are people mad at the reviewer? Every hiphop website on planet earth rated this as average or below average.

    138. IANAHB2 goes hard as f*ck, because of these tracks:
      – IANAHB
      – Beat the shit
      – Gunwalk
      – God Bless America
      – Bitches love me
      – Trigger Finger
      – Trippy
      – Days and Days
      – Rich as f*ck
What a f*ck is people talkin’ about wayne fell off??, I don’t get what you sayin’, I bet you didn’t heard the whole f*ckin album and still rated 1 star, so f*ck you’ll!!

      1. Dude stop embarassing yourself. Get rid of the skinny jeans and truckfit clothing, dress like a man, and listen to some real rap shit. Pick up a Wu-Tang album, get into some Nas and Common as well. This homosexual hashtag rap crap is whats killing rap and fans of it like you who are ignorant and probably popping pills all day are keeping this shit out there. Seriously, just stop.

      2. I’m always playin’ my Illmatic, my Ready to Die, my 36 Chambers, I like Aquemini too, but also I like wayne lyrics because I understand his verses and metaphors, and I’m related to those lyrics, so when you’ll understand that music it’s a subjective matter, then you’ll stop talking BS… and hating as they pay you for it!… and I would never wear skinny jeans madaf*ck*r!

    139. The Number of references to his dick: 27
Number of references to having sex: 63
Number of times ‘Bitch’ is said: 102
Number of times he says ‘Nigga’: 182
Number of references to getting head: 23
Number of references to eating pussy: 26
Number of references to Trukfit: 6
Number of references to shooting people (himself not included): 38
Number of references to marijuana: 39
Number of references to lean/drank: 7
Number of references to pills: 3
Number of references to animals: 14
Number of references to extraterrestrial activity: 5
Number of references to YMCMB artists: 9
Number of references to skating: 5

    140. Here’s a funny thing. XXL Magazine, who obviously gets paid by Lil Wayne to give out terrific reviews, gave a terrible rating for this album.

    141. Lil Wayne changes into Eminem. All of Eminem’s albums were actually Lil Wayne’s with a disguised voice. He sold far more combined than Jay Z and Nas and Biggie

    142. The album is trash and the reviewer is right. Wayne needs to rethink things through. For so many delays idk why it feels rushed.

    143. If you’re watching a comedy expecting to get enlightened ala a documentary the dummy is you! Even KRS 1 made tracks such 9MM, Bridge is Over, Criminal Minded etc. Rakim…how many socially conscience albums did he and Eric B make? This is Wayne. You know, or should know by now what he’s going to rap about.

    144. “Number of times he says ‘Nigga’: 182”

Is that all? In Menance to Society, they had 182 N words in just the opening scene.

    145. “that were really bumpin LIG”

That’s fine. I just don’t understand why. I’ve tried to listen to that album a couple times with an open mind, and just can’t.

    146. i give it a half a star but damn Lil Wayne sounds like a little pussy ever since Rebirth. Look at Hot Revolver WTF is this .GAY rap thats what it is

    147. you can tell when some one get raped in jail…they come out bragging about all the pussy they get…you should when you get a shit load of money….his skills have diminished

      1. Pmfd: how do you know he was raped in jail were you there with him getting fucked??? That’s very arrogant statement 2 make!!!

    148. I know this has nothing to do with this particular album, but has anyone noticed that DX did not review “The Nacirema Dream” from Papoose that came out yesterday? Ive been waitin on that for like 7 years lol. But let me tell yall, its solid. Like easily a 4/5. Again i know its irrelevant here, but I think its crazy to talk about albums that are already out and re-releases and all that, even a Justin Timberlake album, but nothing on one of the most sought after MC’s in the last decade with his album finally dropping.

    149. So glad i didnt pay for this album. Wayne has progressivly gotten worse since the carter 2..his mixtapes are better than his last 3 or more albums. lyrically he will never compare to 2pac big kendrick eminem nas ect. he was better back in the late 90s early 2000s than he is now. his voice is even annoying now.

    150. sounds like y’all don’t do anything, but sit your fat asses online all day tryin’ to hate on lil wayne…this album is hard as fuck and dont give a fuck what anyone says. Wheezy’s new album is fuckin’ dope..doper than the dope y’all fake ass haters try and push. Haha, fuck you haters…i’d like to see you say what your sayin’ about wayne to his face.

      1. All I read was you have Wayne’s dick in your mouth and wanna cry because your man crush is being hated on. FOH with that shit you whining little bitch

      2. i like to see all you critics go in the studio and try to make a record…try it and let people rate it. you wouldnt like if some one called your hard work craft garbage. Wayne make music to cater to his fans. what the fuck a gangsta doing listening to wayne anyway. and i keep seeing someone say all people do is sit around on the web and hate on wayne we hate wayne in real life. We like good music not the fame. money dont make you a good rapper if that’s the case Steve jobs or Bill Cosby would of been successful in this game i hate non music mufuckas that be trying to down or support niggas that dont give a fuck about them. Non music mufuckas.

      3. You’re a fucking idiot. So we have to be professional musicians to critique music? Yeah, that makes sense. So that means that Roger Ebert and other movie critics are big-time haters because they never wrote a screenplay, you can’t say that a meal is awful because you’re not a gourmet chef, and making fun of an athlete means that you’re hating. Good logic, right?

Seriously, fuck outta here. We have a right to an opinion on music. Wayne don’t care about his fans, just their money.

    151. I’m not a huge Wayne fan but I enjoy his good music. His early mixtape work was great, and the closesy he has come to a great album was C3. All that said he has clearly lost it. He could have taken it to the next level and concentrated on making a hiphop classic, but instead he now focuses and skating and music has taken a backseat.

This album is TRASH. I actually deleted it off my itunes because I didn’t want this shit around my other music lol every song is about how much he loves getting/eating pussy. Its fucking garbage.

    152. i’m so sick of all the hate on Lil Wayne stfu half you guys are broke as fuck yeah Wayne doesn’t have as much serious songs anymore but he’s consistent

      1. lmaoo you must be a damn nerd to sit around all day talking shit abouut artists does anyone realize that Weezy even worked with Kendrick Lamar? Kendrick did a whole mixtape dedicated to weezys songs he must be doing something right

      2. No one’s talkin about C3 dummy, we talkin about this. And this was doo doo. Did you listen to Romance or Wowzers? Those may be the worst songs ever recorded. Ever.

      3. lol, conner smith getting trapped in a corner, so he brings up kendrick.. haha.. looks like kendrick’s doing something right for you to bring him up..

      4. “does anyone realize that Weezy even worked with Kendrick Lamar? Kendrick did a whole mixtape dedicated to weezys songs he must be doing something right”

or maybe kendrick thought all those songs were trash and thought he could do better over those beats so he recorded his own versions

Wayne is still winning and the album is dope ..i bought the deluxe version and i only hate 2 songs on it …if you don’t like Wayne ,that’s understandable but if you say the album is garbage then you hating..nuff said

      1. most discussed but most of those comments are about how bad it is. just look at the average rating of 2.12

      2. tahir, get Wayne’s dick out your mouth. Most of the comments here are mostly negative and are saying this album is garbage and I agree with them. Not one good song here. Wayne has been garbage since Tha Carter III.

      1. Let’s not forget the album has a Metacritic score of 55. It’s not just us, even the critics think this album is a piece of dogshit.

      2. It’s a flop because Wayne is very popular. This dude was on everyone’s songs and his last effort sold 960k 1st week. THIS ALBUM IS A FLOP. You’re the crazy one for believing otherwise.

    154. Lil’ Wayne’s I Am Not A Human Being II opening week sales projections up to 210,000….
wow, struggling numbers but the album deserves those numbers. utter trash

    155. album is kinda wack. but how is 210,000 a struggling number for the first week?? wiz album came out a while ago only at like 300,000 and so is asap rocky, cheif keef aint even at 200,000.

    156. I love the idea of making a song called Rich as Fuck while we’re in a recession and most of america is broke as shit.

    157. fucking garbage this album was so trash even the garbage man wouldn’t collect that shit he told me to burn it cus it was that disgusting.

    158. This is a horrible album review. They need new writers. I used to have a lot of respect for this website, but they have become so biased with their articles and reviews, I can’t even take them seriously anymore. This album is great by the way. If you don’t get pussy on a regular basis, you probably won’t like it because you can’t relate, but if you do, it’s a fun album. The old Wayne is gone and is never coming back. A true artist evolves with the times. Wayne definitely raps his best over Mannie Fresh beats, but those days are gone, so get the fuck over it and move on.

      1. your an idiot. you said this album is fun thats the most ridiculous thing ive ever heard. who the fuck listens to an album because of that reason i can honestly say you probly wouldnt know good music if it slapped you upside your damn head.

      2. Fun as in something you bump at a party as you play beer pong with bitches. Something your no pussy gettin’ ass knows anything about. This isn’t an album you drive to on a rainy day, it’s meant for a party setting. If that’s the “most ridiculous thing you’ve ever heard” then I suggest you get out more.

      3. Hey man if u like pop-rap more power too yuh. idk about you but i feel lil wayne is ruining hip-hop/rap for me. I like music for lyrical content an production. which this album is failing at both. if you listen too the song there, there basically all the same just with a different beat different word play. this the same old shit with him. i think when he said he was guna retire he really should have hes hurting the rap community

      4. Dude Wayne was never that tight. He had two good albums with Carter and Carter 2 and after that it was just straight GARBAGE that came out from this gremlin and yet he still continued to get support. At this point Wayne is just a lost cause. If that sizzurp doesn’t kill this ignorant clown first, then he should just retire all together and ride skateboards for the rest of his useless existence.

      5. i agree this album is a total flop. its incredible to me the people support this rapper it blows my mind. unlike the guy above i like the carter 3 its more of an experiment album he tryed somethin new and i feel it in a way it succeeded some what the first two where good too. but for me it was after carter 3 shit went completely down hill. absolutely nothing is good or innovative on this album.he needs to start writing shit down and reading it to himself

      6. i get pussy on a regular basis, drink, party and all that….and this album to me is still just garbage. man theres so much better music to party and fuck to then this! i think we as a hip hop nation should just throw lil wayne out of rap and make him call himself a pop artist cause this sure as helll aint rap worth listening to. there’s artists like tragic allies and demigodz who wont see 1/5 his sales but have 1000x the skill and 1000x better songs

    159. Flop? Debuting at #2 isn’t a flop. 621 people clicked on this article just to give there opinion. Wayne wins.

      1. Your argument has too many holes in it. Debuting at #2 doesn’t mean anything since it’s now possible to sell 70k and debut at #1. Also, he’s about to sell 210k 1st week. This is the same dude whose last album sold 960k, so for INAHB2 to sell 750k less than that is a flop. Also, how is Wayne winning if out of 621 people, most of them are talking about how bad the album is? That’s a loss.

    160. The album is better than the Carter 3 and better than a lot of music that has been coming out lately.

      1. Must just be better than the music you’ve been listening to lately, but if you know where to look you know this is straight trash.

    161. well wayne definitely has more people who don’t like his music lately. This album had a bad selection of beats and some weak punchlines. I think wayne did not realise that with this album he had to prove a lot and am just wondering if there is any need for him to prove anything because i think he is done, he can’t keep going like this or else he is going to lose his mind.

    162. The album has a flow, lots of albums miss this important aspect. He definitely misses a few marks, but it is another classic from Wayne. See me walking with a limp, thats my gunwalk.

      1. A classic? Dude you must be high off that cough syrup too. This shit is absolute trash. Lame punchlines, wack beats, wack guest appearances, played out subject matter. What in the hell could be possibly classic about this? You should listen to some real rap.

    163. Wayne has lost his touch, after listening to the entire album and not finding one song I like, I also realized most of the songs sound the same and a ton of reused and boring lyrics/schemes.

    164. Just…. Terrible…. I’ll be honest I bought the album but I’m still waiting for the old Wayne to return and until that happens I might as well just buy every album he puts out in the hope that I can at least hear one song that is reminiscent of the material he used to put out and when that finally happens I will stop listening to this sad remnant of an incredible artist.

    165. who the fuck has listened to rich as fuck and not thought of how shitty can a rap really get. 2 chains suck and swallows two big dicks.

    166. wayne fell off after Tha Carter II, III was decent. used to be a huge fan. sick of hearing about dudes dick and his bitches. not wasting my money on this garbage.

      1. Thats Lil Waynes whole career boo boo, dudes whole catalouge was marketed to the dumbed down set

      1. I agree..everybody trying there best tho discredit anything Wayne do..it’s actually good..repetitive a bit but dude word play is like no other..live long Wayne

    167. Lil’ Wayne is crap, actually to me its a miracle how such an untalented artist has so much success in the music industry, and how good rappers with better flows and lyrics get constantly overlooked. We live in a dumb society.

Apparantly DX has not enough balls to give it two or even one star. When did this happen last time? I can remember that the Nicki Bondage bullshit got 3 stars as well. lmao

      1. the group that slowly destroyed rap and made it into pop. all u people who ride young moneys dick probably havent ever heard anything different have you? check the underground scenes young one…theres a lot of artists that make lil wayne look like a retarded, no talented drug addict….oh wait that is what he is anyway. and his rock attempts where just terrible. iv never seen soomeone suck so bad with a guitar. atleast when tech n9ne trys some rock he succeeds. this guy just brings any genre of music down

      2. and he dosnt even write his own music…both him and drake…their just mainstream puppets used to gain all the attention of the constantly dumbed down 15 year old kids of our country. they make songs like a factory makes a product…essembly line make em as fast as possible with no attention payed to any one song in perticular. dont believe me look it up young one. the industry these days is a dark place

      1. true true! Drake & Tyga are the only ones killing it,in YM,even that b*tch fake ass hoe Nicki sucks,it’s looks like 2013 album from Drake is coming better then waynes

    168. just commenting again so i can bring this his fucking
rating lower, because it’s still too high. fucking bag
of shit they dare to call music nowadays. fucking hell.
retire already from this shit, you, snoop dogg, dr dre,
every fucking one who’s still stuck in the 90’s/2000’s
      new generation taking over!

    169. What exactly is Lil Wayne’s appeal?? I’d really like to know because as a heterosexual man, I do not know what could possibly be appealing about a skinny jeans wearing, man kissing, cross dressing, drug addict with tattoos all over his face. His punchlines are lame. His voice is annoying. And he looks like such a fag skate boarding… As for the album, heard this shit on Youtube and for the life of me I still cannot see what exactly is good about this. You fucking teenagers are either insane or high off that sizzurp crap to be spending your money on this shit.

      1. As a homosexual man you seem jealous of that nigga..u can’t out sell EVERYBODY and be the biggest hop hop start on the planet by the life of me and be garbage….it’s the tenth album..lol..clothes don’t make you successful unless your Marc Jacobs..lol you know how many gay ppl dressed like you are now..it’s obvious your black cause I am too and as culture we criticize over per expression after coming from a cultural depression

      2. I’m only pointing out the obvious. This dude is supposed to be the “voice” of this new generation. This is the “artist” that these kids worship. You don’t think that our kids worshipping a dude like this is a problem? Call me whatever you wish, but I wouldn’t exactly feel comfortable if my son was listening to this guy and going around mimicking him and singing his lyrics. Quite frankly I would find it disturbing. Not to mention that he’s a well known drug addict who drinks fucking “sizzurp” as if its the cool thing to do… Lil Wayne is a huge L for the hip hop culture all together. A piss poor role model and even more piss poor representation of the black community and the epitome of why outsiders think rap music is for ignorant people. Yeah I do have a problem with that.

      3. I love how you described queen, yet everyone loves him. Lol album wasn’t good at all tho 2/5.
I feel like he has definitely fell off but he gets alot more hate than deserved, like he does a lot of charity’s and stuff he’s not evil, but also not a good rapper anymore.

    170. I don’t really listen to Wayne besides the occasional guest feature, but this anti-Wayne movement has to stop. What kind of music you listen has nothing to do with your potentials or whatever and some of you become riled up over this shit. What did he do, fuck your mother or something? Blame the industry agents and yourself for not giving talented individuals the same exposure.

He even rewrote Eminem’s “Stan” and made it better!!

      1. you’re joking, right? Eminem is ten times better then Wayne will ever be. One song is no reason to make bullshit up

    172. Can’t believe how fast Lil Wayne has declined. 2 years ago I’d defend him as the greatest rapper alive, after this shit n some of the shit leading up to it I wouldn’t even put him in the Top 15. He has become a joke, and should have retired after Tha Carter III.

    173. Yo this album was wack nd the reason why more wack artist are getting deals and a ridiculous budget to make more trash instead of the artist who got bars and actually talk about something rather then there dick or getting high……when is hiphopdx gonna review papoose album and finally promote one of the best and most lyrical albums out this year

    174. 3/5!!!!????? What?!?!?!?! Naw this album deserves a 1/5 and moved from the cd selection of every stor to where they store cigarette ashtrays and pooper scoopers I bet this editor is a 13 year old cuz this shit is odee wack

    175. Long live Weezy! Fuck y’all haters. Get with the times. Take off those baggy jeans and put on skinny jeans and get with the swag movement!

      Young Money for life!

    176. IT Wasn’t a bad album but it far from a masterpiece, Lil Wayne seem to become lazy and uncreative but Lil Wayne is still of the top rappers in da game. All he talks about is DRUGS,MONEY,SEX,AND OTHER THINGS THAT DOESN’T EVEN MAKE ANY SENSE IN SOME OF HE’S METAPHORS.I Am Not a Human Being II was OK 2.5 STARS.

    177. IT ME AGAIN I THINK IT TIME TO GO LIL WAYNE…RETIRE PLEASE U HAVE DONE THING THAT MOST ARTIST WILL NEVER DO AND HAVE establish DAT U ARE ON OF THE GREATEST WEEZY…EVENTHOUGH HE’S ONLY 30

      1. One of the greatest at what exactly? Because at “rapping” he’s one of the worst I’ve ever heard.

    178. This rating is way too high. That shit is garbage. Wayne has had good albums in the past. But after Carter 2, everything he’s dropped has been ass. He’s turned into a corny ass emo rapper with an annoying voice and nonsensical metaphors. But of course what else do we expect from an ignorant clown ass drug addict. This really deserves 0 stars.

    179. Weezy is back! This album definitely deserves higher than 2.10!! Weezy killed multiple tracks. This album got great features and all of them showed up! Like Souljia Boy who came thru w the crazy beats, not so good vocals. Im Voting 5 stars to raise his rating

      1. What track did he kill? He was lazy as hell on this album and wrote nothing but nonsensical metaphors. It was nothing but pure hashtag rap crap.

    180. I’m a big Wayne fan, have been since Tha Carter. But for the last five years he’s been giving us complete trash. I just hope its a set up and he’ll go out in style with Tha Carter V.

    181. I VISITED WAYNE AND HE SHOWED ME HOW GREAT OF A FATHER HE WAS!!!

I SKATEBOARD WITH HIM ALL THE TIME

HE TOLD ME YMCMB WAS GOING COUNTRY AND TATYLOR SWIFT WILL BE THE FIRST ACT ON THE LABEL!!

      1. Yeah, tell yourself all of those bullshit lies because nobody believes you. Quit lying and get a life, loser.

    182. only ignorant liberals like this garbage. IMNHB2 has the making of a classic weed plate album, whack beats, & the type of lyrics I’d expect from 2chainz.

    183. lil’ wayne needs me to ghost write for him to take it back to tha carter days bc this is some serious trash right here.

    184. Ok the guy has done ten solo records and 7 collaborative records.. After 17 almbums im surprised he has any creativity left at all to come up with any metphores similies or cd content.. After 17 albums i want to know one artist who after 17 albums has not repeated a line or had a bad album..Hes still good at what he does, its geared towards a certain crowd, if you are in that crowd then great if no, download the songs he makes for your crowd.. like the entire carter 2 /dr.carter, mr. carter/ abortion/ and the newest god bless america .. stop Hatin’ who comes on a site and wastes their time just to hate.. it would take less time to go on itunes and select a different artist or song.. album was hot idcw any1 says

      1. PREACH!!!!! content is VERY repetitive, but simile and metaphor game are unsurpassed!!!!! why DO people waste their time hating????? lame as f…

      2. Again

        You’re joking, right?

        He Bull…….

Not the best of anything, and I rap or pop rap or whatever he doing now better than him….. Lil Wanye is not a human…lol

    185. On a side note Drake never started from the bottom hes always been rich high class candian jew lmao. His dad played drums 4 jerry lee lewis and degrassi he had money

      1. U sound dumb af jus because he had money doenst mean u can jus come in the game and dominate he could have easily flopped

    186. Just to make things clear, this is not rap, its pop rap. Hip-hop/rap ended in my opinion the day that guys like Jay z, and Puff daddy started to top that fake ass thing that the industrie calls the charts, lol! Something they control by the way, so that they can lower the talent bar in musicc, that pretty much anyone with a bullshit image will be POPular to their targeted market, the teenager . Yes i was one to, back when they were trying topuah garbage like vanilla ice. There will never be the glory days anymore, with such greats as De la soul, mob deep, the wu, pharcyde, tribe called quest, and i could go on forever. Wayne is just a product to be sold, he is created not creative, he is pepsi and he is coke, and its sad that the youth eat it up.
It is always sad for music when it becomes more important to make mone then it is to expess yourself and make art. Look at what we have today, besides a few great underground rappers that are still trying to keep it going, the rest are just shit, Drake, Wayne, Wiz, Kanye, and the list goes on forever.
Like I said, sad times for the youth, when they start to beleave that this garbage is anything but what it really is, used up beats and garbage rhymes, hey you youngins, heres a tip to set you on your way, start by downloading anything produced by such greats as, Premier, Prince paul, Rza, to name a few, feel free to add more so these kids can learn and maybe carry the torch someday, because from what garbage if heard out there for the last 10 years, that torch needs to be relit.

      1. man ur taking this shit way to seriously, there is plenty of concious rap out there but everybody doin the crying about wayne and 2chainz, dont support the artist they like because ya’ll like or love having something to hate other than supporting what you call real hip hop. case and point wayne sold almost as many albums in one week that nas sold in a year. ppl like you need wayne, and ross, and nicki. if they was gone you wouldnt know what to do with yourself, you stans might just start to turn on eachother, lol.

    187. Its pretty garbage. And yes there are a lot of trolls on this site just trying to piss people off. And no disrespect to the review because I do understand how shit goes, but he was clearly just trying not to come off as a hater so he went safe and gave it 3 stars. But truth is the truth, this shit is absolute GARBAGE.

    188. This should have been outlawed, its so wack. This is the type of shit that turns these kids into drug addicts. The music itself is just embarrassing. Like nails to a chalkboard.

    189. all of these people saying bad stuff about this album is haters and all probably old and have nohing better to do! you ALL just mad cause he is making money and doing what he wants. but till this day my motto to you haters :”SUCK A DICK, AND LET IT SIT”. INMATURE ADULTS OR TEENAGERS. AND IF YOU HAVE PROBLEM DEAL WITH IT!

      1. I seen the nigga in real life, drug up!!! He Bull, don’t give me wrong, I have all his albums…… listen to he words, he ain’t talking about shit…..

      2. The OP is your typical Wayne stan that doesn’t know shit and always bring up his money which is irrelevent when it comes to his skills.

      3. Dude as a black man you should be embarassed of this ignorant ass clown. He has set the black race back a century with his antics and image. And he continues to make that bullshit ass pop hashtag rap crap which is one of the reasons alot of people say they’re tired of rap. Get a clue for once in your life and make a change in your music selection. Listen to some real stuff.

    190. I bangs with this album, every hip hop track is a banger it just gets weird when he tries to mix the rock n roll into it. niggas just don’t wanna like wayne anymore, cuz thats the cool thing to see. He’s just making music and clowning let the nigga have bars

    191. Fuck yall hatin azz east coast rap fags hatin on Weezy yall just wish you could get some pussy and money the wey he duz!

    192. im not a lil wayne dick rider nor do i hate wayne, he occasionally has some songs i enjoy, but i have to say this is his worst album. like….its really bad. the song “hello” could be his worst song of his career. not trying to hate, just my opinion.

    193. This album got all that hype and promotion and the result is wackness. I mean this is so bad that it makes rap look like its all unintelligent ignorant music.

This clown needs to just OD already and die.

    194. Wayne just needs to take a break for a while and come back after everyone forgets how awful he is.

    195. The problem with Wayne is not his skills. He can rip a track when he’s in the mood but since Carter 3, Wayne has really gone downhill. BAD. At this point he’s too drugged up to make anything really coherent and he’s using the same tired lines over and over again. This shouldn’t be a surprise though, because you can only talk about pussy so many different ways, and after a while your dick jokes will just wear on everyone. Overall, this album just doesn’t do anything for me. Nothing Wayne has done since Carter 2 really has done anything for me. Considering the hype and radio play that his singles got, he should have done much better but he’s just not capable anymore.

    196. damn this shit horrible but i give it 5 stars cause he made them classix jealous hataz hatin on weezy cauz of his fame

    197. No way in hell does this get anything close to 5 stars. Weezy is fucking garbage. He has no skills. Get it through your head.

    198. This album one of the best ever & what I can say (Lil Wayne over Bitches and he do the fu*k’in most) & like wezzy said (Now kiss my ass if you hating Im getting ass or Im skating)

    199. At this point Wayne will only have a certain crowd who will be into his shit and its not the rap heads anymore. Not the REAL hip hop fans at least. There was a time when Wayne was a dope MC and he could get on that mic and really tear the track up but now the drugs have really gotten to him and he can’t make anything good anymore.

    200. I’m really surprised to see that anyone actually enjoyed this. It was as bad as I expected to be. Lets just give up on Wayne. Carter 3 was his last good album. Since then he has put out 4 awful albums in a row. Accept that he will never get back to where he once was. He fell of harder than Jay-Z

    201. HE FELL OFF AND HE HAD TWO GREAT SINGLES AND THE ALBUM GONNA GO GOLD PLUS………….COME ON……YOU LOOKING AND WAITING TO HATE WAYNE…….BUT LIKE MY OLD COACH SAID THE CREAM OF THE CROP WILL RISE TO THE TOP!!!!!!!!!!! SOUTH WE RUN THIS BSSSSSSSSSSS!
YMCMB, CTE WORLD, HUSTLE GANG, FREEBANDZ GANG,AND MMG…..JUST FACE IT…BESIDES EM AND YE , LAMAR, AND JAY WE DA RAP GAME AYE!
      6 STARS SUCKERS

    202. the problem here is that most of the people on here who dislike this album are the same people who go out their way to hate on everything wayne puts out. Im pretty sure that these people are only upset because wayne is gettin the attention that they feel that their favorite rapper should be getting. It like they want wayne to be a copy and paste version of some shit nas did 15years ago. His style isnt based upon doing deep intelectual shit. he’s not going to do alot of deep/concept songs because thats not what he good at. all the hate seems to stem form people from of the northern region who cant accept the fact that wayne has got his foot stuck knee deep in your favorite rapper ass.

    203. absolutely pathetic.. hurry up and retire or die from one of your fake publicity stunt seizures

    204. Fuck ALL Hate & ALL Haters Both & ALL Fake Pussy ass Niggas , Man THIS Album One Of the Best Albums of All the Time (HIP-Hop & Whatever) , LIL WAYNE In THIS BITCH Better Than Ever & For F**kin’ Forever ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Tunechi Over BITCHES

    205. This actually deserves 0 stars. And yes can we actually remove the users who gave this shit 5 stars when you guys know that all they’re doing is trolling. They’re not serious.

    206. The fact that the average user rating is 2.12 should tell you tight jeans homos about what a fraud Lil Wayne is.

    207. This rating is not low enough. Really deserves 0 stars plus removal of all the homosexual groupies who gave this anything above a 2. This shows how bad drugs are and this Young Money shut is the reason older heads think our generation is wack.

    208. Doesn’t the fact that most people gave this crap a 1 tell you skinny jean wearing metro homos anything??… Like that maybe this shit is garbage???… Do y’all REALIZE that? Hello!!???

    209. the hate is ridiculous, this(the album)wasn’t at all lyrical or groundbreakin but its got some tracks, in trippy you can imagine as if you were high(storytelling)in God Bless Amerika you get a different song from the rest, then you got the bangers, i give it a strong 3

    210. Wow this really was bad. Dx when u gonna grow balls and give bad albums what they deserve this shit should’ve got a 1 or 2 for real
