Young Thug dropped his new album from jail without much notice last week — but that isn’t the only surprising part about the project.

Metro Boomin oversaw the majority of the album’s production, and his longtime studio partner Southside, who also worked on Business Is Business, claims the entire tracklist was put together in two weeks.

“Y’know, we move quick, we work real fast,” he said in a brief LAX interview with TMZ shared on Saturday (July 1). “Shoutout to Metro. Metro the G.O.A.T.”

Not only did he call his longtime collaborator the greatest, he also called Business is Business the greatest behind-bars record of all time.

Southside was then asked if Thugga recorded his vocals over the phone. “Not really, some things was, but not all of em,” he said. When probed further to reveal more information about the operation, he replied: “We keep our secrets.”

Meanwhile, Young Thug has remained focused on music — his own as well as that of his peers. Though he may have a lot on his plate with the ongoing YSL RICO case, hearing T.I. and Boosie Badazz’s joint album is high on his list of priorities.

On Thursday (June 29), the 31-year-old rapper took to his Instagram Stories to urge the Southern rap legends to go ahead and drop the collaborative project they’ve been teasing for some time.

“@mamaheliveagain2.0 and @tip ya’ll go ahead and drop that album together,” he wrote. “That’s all a n-gga wants.”

Boosie has yet to respond, although Tip did repost Thug’s post on his own Instagram Stories and added a series of emojis indicating he’s on board with the idea.

During an interview with VladTV in February, Boosie declared he was no longer doing the project over allegations that the Grand Hustle general had snitched on a dead relative back in the day.

T.I. and Boosie continued to engage in a back and forth before making amends in April, with the latter then announcing the album is back underway along with a reality show.

“The reality show we in works right now, so we’re probably gonna follow up with a joint project,” he said in a separate interview with VladTV. “We ain’t talked about dropping an album yet but I wanna drop it. That’s why I was kinda pissed about the situation because this was big for me to drop an album with Tip. This was some big shit for me bruh, so we gonna get to it.”
