Young Thug’s Dad Upset At Rapper’s Jail Release Conditions: ‘I’m Totally Against That’

Young Thug‘s dad is celebrating his son’s release from prison, but he has taken issue with the conditions of his release, noting that he’s “totally against” certain provisions.

In a local news interview from Thursday (October 31), Jeffrey Williams Sr. reacted to some of the very strict conditions of Thugger’s plea deal.

He said: “I feel great that he’s going home, but at the same token, I still want him to fight, but that’s his decision. I raised him to be the man that he is. You know, I’ve always been in his life, from a pup to now. And I’m gonna continue to be in his life. As an adult, he has to make his own decisions.”

He was asked if he resided in Metro Atlanta, and when he responded in the affirmative, he was asked about one of the stipulations, which bars Thug from the city.

Williams Sr. added: “I’m totally against that, because this is where he’s from. To have a district attorney take that away from him … To see her take the man away from where he’s from, to have to go live somewhere else, that’s offensive to me. I’m really offended by that.”

    Check out his interview below.

Young Thug’s lengthy probation comes with various strict conditions including a ban from the Metro Atlanta area, no contact with any of his co-defendants apart from Gunna and his brother Quantavious “Unfoonk” Grier, and a requirement to perform annual charity anti-gang concerts.

Thug is also prevented from making gang references in his music but is allowed to travel for work purposes.

Young Thug‘s release from jail was celebrated by many of his rap peers including Kanye West and Drake.

The Atlanta rapper’s long-running YSL RICO trial came to an abrupt end on Thursday (October 31) when he accepted a plea deal, the terms of which saw him sentenced to time served plus 15 years of probation.

The Hip Hop community welcomed Thugga home with open arms, with Ye leading the celebrations by posting the news on his Instagram Stories along with a photo of his “Highlights” collaborator.

Drake, who had been a vocal supporter of the YSL leader throughout the contentious trial, also paid tribute by sharing a screenshot of him playing his and Thug’s song “Parade on Cleveland.”

Young Thug’s girlfriend Mariah The Scientist was especially overjoyed at his jail release, writing in a text to WSB-TV reporter Michael Seiden: “Thank you God. Thank you God. This is more than what we prayed for.

“We are so grateful, this is the greatest opportunity we’ve ever been presented and we are so grateful. Thank you Judge Paige Whitaker for giving us the opportunity to move forward with our life.”

    1. He is offended because his son has to live in a different place than where he is from. Would he prefer him to live in prison?

    2. He’s not upset that his son put himself in that predicament? He’s not upset about his son’s criminal activities? He’s not upset with the mistakes he made as a father? He’s not upset about his son wearing dresses? Ok.

      1. Spot on!!! All the terms of Thug’s probation were because of HIS actions. Perhaps his dad should have taught him, actions have consequences.

    3. What people don’t know is that Thug can’t live in the Atlanta METRO area, he can move 50 miles south, North, east or west of the city and be fine. There are plenty of nice spots outside of the city.

    4. Its suspect that they let him out 6 days before the election. Didnt this case fall under Fanni Willis ? Obviously they got scared that Trump was gonna take Fulton County by promising to pardon him. He still can and allow him back in Atlanta.

      1. Trump cannot pardon him for state offences – only federal offences. The governor would have to issue the pardon.

    5. Actions and consequences. These seem to puzzle a lot of people. If he can’t behave himself maybe he should be in prison. He got probation with conditions. Deal with it.
