Young Thug’s YSL RICO trial has taken yet another turn as one of his co-defendants has been severed from the case after being diagnosed with schizophrenia.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Jayden Myrick (also known as SetTrip or JayMan) will be tried separately from his fellow YSL defendants.

The decision was made by Fulton County Judge Ural Glanville on Monday (May 8) following an evaluation of Myrick’s mental health and an admission from the alleged YSL member that he hasn’t taken his psychiatric medication since December.
Myrick previously told the court in April that he wished to represent himself in the trial and claimed to have been receiving legal advice from President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.

“I’m not the regular inmate. I be with Joe Biden and Donald Trump and they be talking to me,” Myrick said at the time. “Donald Trump is going to get me out.”
While handing down his ruling, Glanville said: “I think severance would be appropriate at this point in time.”
Myrick was charged in the YSL indictment with attempted murder, possession of a weapon by an incarcerated individual, participation in criminal street gang activity and conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.
He is one of two men accused of stabbing Atlanta rapper YFN Lucci in jail in February 2022 — an attack that was allegedly green-lit by Young Thug.

Myrick was also convicted of murder last October in connection to the July 2018 killing of an Atlanta man named Christian Broder. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
The severance brings the number of YSL defendants set to stand trial together to just 10. The sprawling indictment against the Atlanta collective, who prosecutors allege is a “criminal street gang,” originally named 28 defendants.
That figure began to be whittled down in December when multiple defendants took plea deals, including Gunna. Last week, Judge Glanville severed the cases of two other defendants because their attorneys are pregnant and preparing to take maternity leave.
Young Thug, meanwhile, remains behind bars on eight charges, including including conspiracy to violate the RICO Act and participation in criminal street gang activity, along with various weapons and drug offenses.

He recently filed a fourth motion for bond, with his lawyer Brian Steel arguing that the ongoing trial is taking a toll on his health and interfering with his ability to properly prepare.
According to Steel, Thug wakes up between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. each day and doesn’t return to jail from court until late — a daily routine that has left him “sleep-deprived.”

Judge Glanville has yet to rule on the motion, but has previously denied the rapper bond over concerns of him being a flight risk and a danger to society.
