One of Young Thug’s co-defendants in the YSL RICO trial has claimed that Donald Trump is going to help him beat the case and regain his freedom.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Jayden Myrick told Judge Ural Glanville at a court hearing this week that he wishes to represent himself in the trial and has been studying law.

He also said he has been receiving legal advice from former President Donald Trump — who is currently dealing with legal problems of his own — along with current President Joe Biden and U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff.
“I’m not the regular inmate. I be with Joe Biden and Donald Trump and they be talking to me,” Myrick said. “Donald Trump is going to get me out.”

As the hearing continued, Myrick reportedly became harder to understand, with Judge Glanville asking the defendant if he had taken any medication and expressing “serious concerns about his present competency.”
The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office provided Glanville with a list of medications Myrick has been prescribed, including an anti-psychotic. However, the 22-year-old said he hadn’t been taking them as instructed.

Glanville ultimately ordered a mental evaluation of Myrick to be completed within 48 hours by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities to determine his competency to stand trial.
If it’s determined he cannot stand trial, Myrick’s case could be severed, bringing the number of remaining defendants in the YSL down to 13.
Myrick, also known as “SetTrip” or “JayMan,” faces charges of attempted murder, possession of a weapon by an incarcerated individual, participation in criminal street gang activity and conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.
He is one of two men accused of stabbing Atlanta rapper YFN Lucci in Fulton County Jail in February 2022 — an attack that was green-lit by Young Thug, prosecutors allege. The other, Antonio “Obama” Sumlin, copped a plea deal in December and was sentenced to 15 years’ probation.

Myrick is currently serving life in prison after he was convicted last year of murder, armed robbery and aggravated assault, among other charges, over the July 2018 shooting of Christian Broder outside of a wedding venue in Atlanta.
Young Thug, meanwhile, also remains behind bars as the jury selection process in the YSL RICO trial continues to drag on. He faces eight counts in the sweeping indictment, including conspiracy to violate the RICO Act and participation in criminal street gang activity, along with various weapons and drug offenses.
The Punk rapper was recently granted temporary release from jail to attend the funeral of his older sister, Angela Grier, who passed away in March.
Despite suffering numerous setbacks since being arrested last May, Thugga continues to keep his sprits high according to numerous close friends and collaborators.

“I be talking to him, he’s blessed man,” Metro Boomin told DJ Drama in January. “Anybody know Slime know he got a heart of gold, but he got the heart of a warrior at the same time, so he got his head up. And I pray for him every single day, even since everything first happened, I pray for him every single day.”
He continued: “Man, that’s my brother. I love him to death and he done helped me a lot with a lot of stuff that I been going through this past year. And on my faith I’m confident that he’s gonna be alright.”
