Young M.A & Chicago Rapper King Yella Squabble Over Ghostwriting Allegations

Young M.A and her rise to notoriety attracted quite a bit of positive attention, but also a fair share of detractors. Chicago’s King Yella has been embroiled in a feud with the Brooklyn rapper over a line referencing marijuana that also doubled as a nickname for a fallen Chicago teen and he’s now saying she has ghostwriters in her employ.

In what appears to be a misunderstanding, Yella posted a video claiming M.A’s management team informed him that the “OOOUUU” star used a ghostwriter for the controversial line. This latest dig seems to stem from a radio freestyle earlier in the month where Young M.A uttered the line “smoke hooka like it’s tooka,” which seemingly referenced slain Chicago teen Shondale “Tooka” Gregory despite “tooka” being noted as slang for marijuana as well.

Young M.A took a live Instagram video of herself to clear up the confusion, asserting firmly she’s never once used a ghostwriter and apologizing for the Tooka line. In an odd twist, Yella then followed up with an Instagram video of his own accepting M.A’s apology and actually stating a show of support for her.

Some might remember King Yella as the rapper who was shot in a drive-by shooting while filming a video aimed at curbing Chicago gang violence this past August.

All of the footage that’s out there has been collected and posted below. Hopefully, there’s peace on the horizon between the two.

    2. if she has ghostwriter’s writing her garbage ass raps, does it say more about her or them? I get that she has the lgbt movement behind her but as a RAPPER, she’s absolutely trash

      1. Unfortunately, I have to agree. I was hopeful when I heard the hype about her. Not the biggest fan of NYC, but I do want them to a presence in hip hop again because I think that would round out the genre. She’s not the worst out there, but I think a lot of her hype comes from the fact that she’s a proud lesbian.
