Young Jeezy Says He Discussed “Watch The Throne”-Style Album With T.I.

After T.I. revealed that he and B.o.B discussed a Watch the Throne-style project, Young Jeezy is claiming that he and Tip considered the same thing. During a Def Jam conference call yesterday, the Snowman said that they chatted about a collaborative LP and that it has potential to happen.

“My first option would be Tupac, but he’s no longer here. Rest in peace to him. But me and Tip were actually together and we chopped it up about it,” he said. “I don’t know if it could really be in the making, but we just hit the ground running and been doing so many records that I don’t think it’s impossible. We’ve known each other enough to even put something like that, and I definitely think the city would need it and does need it. It’d be a good look. It’ll be an amazing album release party, by the way.”

Listen to the full conference call below, where he also speaks on Thug Motivation 103: Hustlerz Ambition, if he thinks Atlanta rap fell off and Mannie Fresh’s comments on him in HipHopDX’s interview (via DJ Smallz).

    1. “My first option would be 2pac, but he’s no longer here.” Yea? My first option would be Jesus Christ, but he’s no longer here. How’s that for a potential collab album?

      1. hahah, its crazy how Jeezy talks like Pac would actually do an album with him lol..if pac wa here he would never do that bc their styles r soo different to the point where they wouldnt have chemistry and the beats would be sooo different. if pac were to do an album with anyone id think it would be Eminem, Nas (if they ever made up),maybe even 50 but thats a stretch, only bc 50 would kill any hook pac wanted him on hah

      2. pac was on pace to crush anything aftermath related (toss it up/ live and die l.a.) If he were to do an album it would be with e-40 or a bay area cat, or boot camp or wu-tang but no way in hell eminem

    2. Jeezy and TIP doin an album together is like Jordan and Pippen. Ya feel me or u wanna feel me

    3. T.I. is fucking with both of them … He’s recording his own god damn album. He ain’t got time to make collabo albums with gay ass B.o.B. and Young about-to-flop-hard Jeezy.

    4. lmao fuck that. tip would eat you alive jizzle, listen to fresh and go grow some more as an artist, then maybe you can do a collab album with tip

    5. Seems like it would be a cool collabo. That Watch The Throne opened up a lot of potential competition, so it would be cool.

      1. Watch the Throne opened nothing. let me teach you about collabo:

meth and red did blackout album in 1999
        the r kelly/jayz album
        oc/ag album
        meth/ghost/rae album
        the firm album etc.

      2. dont forget Run-DMC/Aerosmith and Public Enemy/Anthrax (when it comes to rap/rock collabs). so yea, like Anonymous #2 said, WTT didn’t open any doors to collab albums. the doors were already opened.

      3. idk, you’re and idiot. but collaborations have been happening forever. Watch the Throne is not special. This year alone, before WTT came out we had Bad Meets Evil, KRS-One & Bumpy Knuckles, and Ferrari Boyz. WTT is nothing special in the realm of collaborations. Fuck, this is the fourth collaboration album Jay-Z has done. Best of Both Worlds, Unfinished Business, Collision Course and now Watch The Throne. Basically what i’m trying to say is, get off WTT’s nuts.

      4. this idiot is an idiot.. WTT opens doors for what? fuck outta here you 15 year old Bitch nigga and take that nipple out your mouth.. do you hip hop history before start typing..

      5. STFU U DOUCHES..HE HAS A RIGHT TO SAY ANYTHING HE WANTS, AND WHITE PPL SUCK, DONT SPEAK ON HIP HOP, GO BACK TO UR TARZAN DAYS

      6. lmfao, tech n9ne has been doing collabo albums for how long??? matter fact that dude is about to come out with one… smh. some niggas need to hit the books on their rap history.

      7. Yes, collaborations have occurred in the past, but none with the magnitude of Jay and ‘Ye. All of those collabo’s mentioned above are nowhere near Watch the Throne when you consider star power. Jay and ‘Ye are arguably the biggest stars in hip-hop. The only comparable duo on this level are two deceased rappers: Big and Pac. People need to understand that Watch the Throne is all about magnitude. T.I. and Jeezy are talented rappers, but they are simply not on the same level as Jay and ‘Ye.

    6. dudes act liek its so impossible to do a colab album jeezy really man , what you been doing besides pushing back your music,..back in the day DMX would release albums every 6 months,. no limit had an album every 2 weeks
      whats happened??

    7. Check out i Bar’s new official iAnthem for the halloween season “Nightmare”

      Gooogle Nightmare – i Bar

      (i Bar is one word)

    8. Yes, collaborations have occurred in the past, but none with the magnitude of Jay and ‘Ye. 1. well they’re not gonna call it Watch The Throne, just some ATL.. trap shit

I just hope it ain’t that gay The Man and the Martian type title

    9. JEEZY YOU MY NIGGA, BUT FOREAL HOMIE, CAN YOU PLEASE BRING THE FUCKING ALBUM OUT. PEOPLE ARE GETTING TIRED OF YOUR BULLSHIT. THATS THE REASON RICK ROSS IS KILLING YOU RIGHT NOW, BECAUSE YOU FUCKING AROUND. PERSONALLY I’M STARTING TO THINK YOU DON’T HAVE ANY DECENT MUSIC TO BRING OUT. NOW YOU WANNA TALK ABOUT A COLLAB ALBUM. MAN GET YA SHIT TOGETHER.

      1. Yall fail to realise jeezy is now under two labels Def Jam and he is working with Interscope. interscope does not respect street artist he made a bad move.

      2. def jam and interscope are both universal records. you need more studying. and deadcell is just that, dead brain cells.

      3. Tell this shit squeak below that this is the first record jeezy is working with jimmy.
and jeezy does not like street core artist he wants them to go commericial and sell 20 M records

      4. EVEN WITH WHAT YOU’RE TRYING TO SAY THAT HE’S ON DEF JAM AND GETTING HELP FROM JIMMY AT INTERSCOPE, IT STILL SHOWS HOW HE’S GETTING HELP FROM ANOTHER DEPARTMENT OF THE SAME COMPANY, NOT HE’S UNDER TWO LABELS.

      1. i bet nas’ dick taste good in your mouth huh? stop sucking nas’ dick faggot. It’s called a collaboration album. not a “Nas plus any other rapper” album.

    10. “My first option would be Tupac, but hes no longer here” no shit hes not here.people need to get off pac’s dick do you kno how dum he sounds.

      1. that is dressing like any rapper from this generation, you hate on hiphop today but you’ll dress like them, posing as fuck.

    11. id be a real nigga 2 if the powers that be allowed me 2 do my thang why they locked everybody up around me 2 add 2 my status as a real street nigga

    12. Jeezy just tryin to come back up off someone else…..dog da only way u gon get hot in todays times iz if u make yaself hot. look at ricky ross he went ran to erbody to get on der singles eventually he stuck and got hot. Now he’s the guy that puts out “mafia” type music…so yeah now you need to go back out der get on erbody CD, do your lil trap music shit mix with a 2011 style and you’ll be good to go, I’m telling you all these suckas on here are sucka for catchy tones/catchy lines(lil wayne/ ross)

      1. shut your ugly ass up, Jeezy doesn’t need to change his shit up, he’s not fake like that, you think it would make sense for him to go from trapping to acting like a millionaire? He would be fake as fuck if he did that. You’re a fucking moron, you don’t know what you’re talking about, you would probably fuck up someone’s image with your terrible ideas.

      2. Basically you dissed Jeezy for trying to “come back up off someone else”, then you go into detail how he should FOLLOW what others are doing, like Ross did, and get on people’s songs, which is basically COMING UP OFF SOMEONE ELSE and their music.

The sad part is you contradicted yourself badly, and didn’t even catch it or see it before you clicked the button. I think you actually thought you were reciting a master plan.

      3. You saying that and typing that way doesn’t surprise me that you can’t see those comments make a lot of sense.

    13. First off, let go of WTT’s nutsack. The “magnitude” comes from how emotionally attached you are to those 2 rappers. And it’s the LABEL, not JEEZY pushing back the album, so all of that talk is nothing but what it sounds like, stupidity. Jeezy & TI could do a 6-7 song EP in a week and you still wouldn’t hear it for 6-8 months. Goes to show how much knowledge of the game some of you have.

    14. i hate this shit, no your not doing no colab album. idk how many albums i heard that were supposed to happen and never did. this wont happen.
