YFN Lucci will spent the better part of the next decade behind bars after being sentenced in the RICO case against his YFN collective.
According to WSB-TV, the Atlanta rapper (real name Rayshawn Bennett) was sentenced to 20 years in prison but will serve 10.
UPDATE: Lucci will serve just three and a half months of his sentence behind bars and serve the rest on probation, per WSB-TV‘s Michael Seiden.
Lucci, 32, pleaded guilty to one count of violation of the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act on Tuesday (January 23). He was initially facing numerous felony charges, including murder, which carried a maximum sentence of life without parole.
As part of his plea deal, Lucci is expected to get credit for time served, which began when he surrendered to authorities in January 2021.
The State has also agreed to write a letter to the pardon and parole board saying they will not object to his early release.
Prior to receiving his sentence, Lucci reportedly apologized to the murder victim’s family, as well as his own family and friends.
The “Everyday We Lit” rapper was among a dozen suspects indicted in a sprawling 105-count racketeering indictment against his YFN collective, which prosecutors allege is a faction of the Bloods gang.
Lucci was initially arrested over a December 2020 shooting in Atlanta that killed a 28-year-old man and injured another man. Prosecutors told the judge during the trial that he was the driver and didn’t fire the deadly shots.
The indictment, which was filed while Lucci was out on bond, brought a whole host of other charges against him including racketeering, violating Georgia’s anti-gang law and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Lucci was previously offered a plea deal by prosecutors last year which would’ve seen him serve 17 years of a 20-year prison sentence.
The rapper rejected it, with his attorneys Drew Findling and Gabe Banks telling TMZ they found the deal to be “absurd.”
Damn, he got a sweet deal. Guess he’s going to have to prove he didn’t snitch to get that.
How the hell is any prison sentence, a sweet deal.
You dudes are truly fucked up in the head…
How about stop doing dumb shit and not go to prison period, now that’s a sweet deal dumb ass
No one is saying he should be free from prison. To only get a few years with time spent vs the full 20 years is a sweet deal. But I guess you’re too stupid to understand how comparisons work.
Right, and don’t blame it on the environment. Because someone I don’t know who. Gave him the opportunity to move out of the hood. But dudes like this always make dumbass decisions. So he decided to take the hood with him. It’s called making a change for the better.
Come on man. Who else gets 3 months for murder. Either he snitched or he paid his way out. Snitching is the bargain price.
Everybody ain’t a snitch! At the end of the day they apparently couldn’t prove whatever it was they were trying to charge him with!
He didn’t get 3 months….he been in jail over 2 years, he only HAS 3 MONTHS LEFT… If you read the article. I mean 10 yrs qith only having to so 1/3 of it is a good deal for all they tried to give him, but money and lawyers can do that I guess🤔🤷♀️
Free the greatest 🙏 welcome soon to b home my g 💯 u deserve it frfr 💯 one of the best tht ever did it…
You wanna free murderers? Maybe, you are next.
People get shot everyday B
The 3 letter acronym curse strikes again. You put a stupid 3 letter acronym in your rap name, youre either getting killed or doing some prison time. They should go back to the “Lil” rap names, most of them still rapping.
Damn, that’s crazy. Thought Lucci was already behind the wall for at least 3 years now.
I smell a MF’n Rat
He did what? And got what? Exactly, smells like rat poison to me,he just avoided the trap, and let someone else taste it…..
