YB Neet gets contemplative about fame in his latest single, “Mapa” (Map), released yesterday (January 25).
The Filipino rapper—who also goes by Young Blood Neet—acknowledges that while he has been making a name for himself, he swears to never “waste gold” again, sharing how growing up in the streets, he, like many before him, turned to rap in hopes of having a better life.
However, he alludes to mistakes he made that threaten his status or comfort. “‘Di nawawala sa mapa pero ‘di mahagilap / Sagot ko’y ‘di na muling mag-aaksaya ng ginto.” (I never disappear from the map but I can’t be found / I answered that I won’t waste gold again.)
This is YB Neet’s first single of 2023, following his joint EP with CK YG called Meta. Last year, he also released a solo EP, Big Ape a few months after his most-streamed single to date, “Dem Dayz,” featuring Flow G.
