Wyclef has officially added the title of automotive entrepreneur to his resumé, with the launch of a luxury electric vehicle coming to market in 2024.

According to Newsweek, the Haitian-American rapper and his partner Elo have joined forces with Apex Motors to produce the Attucks Apex AP0. The lightweight, two passenger sportscar was unveiled on Sunday (March 5) as part of The Amelia Councours D’Elegance, a prestigious automotive event held at the Ritz-Carlton Island and The Golf Club of Amelia Island, Florida.

Ahead of the car’s premiere, Wyclef wiped his Instagram feed, leaving only one post about his latest venture.

“As the Son of immigrants my parents always told me to dream big !!!!,” he wrote in the post’s caption, which was also translated to Haitian Kreyol and Spanish. “So I combined my two passions and experiences with cars and music and created my dream vision! I’m launching my electric supercar tomorrow at @ameliaconcoursofficial with @apexmotors.global @attucksfuture @supercarrooms stay tuned for the US debut of Attucks Apex AP0 See you at Amelia Island!”

Wyclef’s fully electric Attucks Apex AP0 features an “enhanced music and sound experience, analyzing the driver and playing song selections that best fit the mood for optimal driving experience.”

Beyond its eco-conscious properties, the Attucks Apex AP0 will also allow Wyclef to give back to the Haitian-American community.

With his business partner already set up in Miami, where he owns an automotive event space called Supercar Room Miami, Clef has decided to set up the business support for the AP0 in the South Florida neighborhood of Little Haiti.

Through this initiative, he will work with Apex to discover and train new talent interested in entering — or currently working in — the field of technology, with a specific focus on inventions, technological solutions, sustainability, creativity and design, coding and web3.

The Attucks Apex AP0 will be available for purchase in late 2024, with a starting price tag of $350,000; a modest price when placed alongside some of its competing brands.

While his business pursuits seem to have taken Clef’s focus away from releasing new music, at least for the time being, he has recently let his talents to projects by other artists.

In September, images began circulating on Instagram that saw the Fugees legend vibing out with Lil Wayne and posing with a pair of guitars in the studio.

While there were no additional details about the studio session between the two musicians, their connection followed Weezy’s announcement of his upcoming album Tha Carter 6, which he has been teasing since the Young Money reunion concert with Drake and Nicki Minaj on last August.

In January, Wyclef Jean reunited with Jin for an updated version of “Learn Chinese,” 20 years after first getting together for the 2003 single. The famed battle rapper shared the moment on his Instagram on, with Clef playing the guitar as Jin spit bars.

“20 years later, the big bro and musical genius @wyclefjean still got me out here making sure the world learns Chinese,” Jin wrote in the caption. “This little jam session is proof that some of the most magical moments are unrehearsed and can be only captured once!

“2023 is the year of the Rabbit, but I also hope it’s a Year of MO MUN TAI for you and yours!!” he continued. “Lay ho ma! Sak pase! #CantoneseCreoleConnection”

“Learn Chinese” was Jin’s first official single following his rise to fame upon winning seven battles in a row on 106 & Park‘s Freestyle Friday segment. Wyclef produced and co-wrote the song, which lived on Jin’s debut album through Ruff Ryders Entertainment, The Rest Is History.
