Wyclef Jean has said the reason for his recent hospital stay was because of exhaustion and stress.

The Fugees rapper spoke with TMZ shortly after his overnight stay on Tuesday (March 14), and said the issues began after he returned to Los Angeles from Miami last weekend.

‘Clef sought care from his family doctor after he began to feel numbness on the right side of his face and was immediately sent to the ER.

Once at the hospital, Dr.Waleed Lashin conducted some tests and immediately requested an overnight stay for the Haitian rapper, with his face numbness deemed the result of stress-related exhaustion.

The update comes after Wyclef Jean posted a video on Instagram on Monday (March 13) showing himself being rolled away in a wheelchair, admitting he wasn’t properly taking care of himself.

“Sometimes we forget that our body is our temple,” Wyclef wrote in the post. “Be back soon.”

The Fugees hitmaker has been extremely busy of late, and most recently announced the launch of a luxury electric vehicle that he said would hit the market in 2024.

According to Newsweek, Wyclef and his partner Elo joined forces with Apex Motors to produce the Attucks Apex AP0. The lightweight, two-passenger sports car was unveiled on March 5 as part of The Amelia Concours D’Elegance, a prestigious automotive event held at the Ritz-Carlton Island and The Golf Club of Amelia Island, Florida.

Wyclef Jean was also recently spotted in the studio vibing out with Lil Wayne, potentially hinting at an appearance on Weezy’s highly-anticipated forthcoming album Tha Carter 6.

It wouldn’t be the first time the pair have worked together. Lil Wayne and Wyclef Jean previously worked on the Carnival vocalist’s 2007 smash hit “Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill)” along with Akon and Shakira, which helped to push the record to No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 that same year.
