Wu-Tang Clan Return With “Wu-Tang: The Saga Continues” Compilation

Longtime Wu-Tang Clan DJ and producer Mathematics has spearheaded a compilation titled Wu-Tang: The Saga Continues. While it’s not technically a new album from the group, but it’s the next best thing.

The project is best compared to Chamber Music and Legendary Weapons, two albums with the Wu-Tang branding that featured much of the group as well as contributors from outside the family tree.

Wu-Tang: The Saga Continues includes contributions by every member except for U-God. Affiliates Killah Priest and Streetlife also make appearances on the LP.

Two tracks are billed as Wu-Tang Clan songs — the Redman-assisted “People Say” (featuring Method Man, Raekwon, Inspectah Deck and Masta Killa) and “If What You Say Is True” (featuring Cappadonna, Masta Killa, Streetlife, GZA and some audio from the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard).

Fans will be reminded that Wu-Tang’s forever next month. RZA announced an October 13 release for the groundbreaking group’s new compilation album, Wu-Tang: The Saga Continues, which he recently called a “masterpiece.”

The official cover art and tracklist were also unveiled, giving Hip Hop heads a clearer picture of what to expect on the LP. The project is another compilation LP in the same vein as 2009’s Chamber Music and 2011’s Legendary Weapons.

Only two tracks are credited to the Wu-Tang Clan with the rest featuring at least one member of the group. Longtime affiliates Killah Priest and Streetlife are among the contributors. Redman, Chris Rivers and the late Sean Price are some of the non-Wu guests appearing on the LP.

        1. Ghostface being in charge of the musical direction of any Wu-Tang project is like having Wile E Coyote going against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the SuperBowl and expecting a win.

    1. when the last time we seen a Ghostface pic with him not covering his head.. shit is mad suspeck i think he might be rockin that Dr.Phil hairline

    2. Doesn’t really look like a legit Wu album, we know RZA only supporting it because he most likely going to receive the most payments from it. Love The Wu but RZA has done some of those cats wrong he has even gave certain members advances and no royalties.

    3. Gza, Masta Killah, an ODB verse, and UGod BETTER be on the so called wu tang tracks. So essentially it looks like a compilation. I’m a bit less pumped especially with some of the features, but I’ll check it out.

    4. I don’t know why people are so surprised that this is a compilation. I had a feeling it was gonna be one since they first announced it. Chamber Music and Legendary Weapons were fire, so this should be too. At least it’ll be better than ABT.

    5. This is a Wu album in my eyes. Who says that only current Wu members need to be on the album for it to be an official Wu album? Nas is the only “Wu affiliate” missing from the album and I hoped he had made the cut. I do believe this album will be hot though.

        1. Nas is one of the few outside rap artist with multiple appearances on Wu albums. Wu contributor is more appropriate. He appeared on both The W album and on Only Built for Cuban Linx

          1. Since when has solo projects been counted as group projects. So the miseducation of lauryn hill is a fugees album?

      1. Nas has appeared on multiple Wu Tang affiliated projects so yeah I consider him a Wu Tang affiliate just like Redman. So for an album like this where there are featuring multiple artists that are not part of the Clan, a Nas feature is a reasonable assumption since he has been featured with Wu Tang a lot in the past.

    6. I love both new singles. Finally, wu tang is bringing the wu sound again. I don’t care if it’s a compilation. I just want wu bangaz. Check out wu tang clan. Com. I believe an official wu tang album is coming next year.

    7. If it’s not rza produced and with only the original nine members besides ODB(r.i.p) it ain’t a true fuckin wu album. To me rza was at his best with the Forever album but I prefer his production style up to Ironman.

      1. all 9 members are on the album, some more than others. RZA did production on it, just not every song. Guys like Mathematics are Wu producers, so it’s not like this is an album made of up Kayne beats or something…

        1. Two good albums out of six is bad. And not a decent album since the W. Outside of Rae, the solo projects have fell off too

    8. RZA should create an WU NU-generation super group such artists as Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, K Black, Future, Migos, and Cardi B. What do ya’ll think?

    9. Not gonna lie, I haven’t listened to a group album by them since 8 Diagrams. I listen to their first album all the time and Iron Flag every now and then, but really have no interest in a group album because I highly doubt they can really bring the majesticness they brought in the 90’s 25 years later. In fact, besides the 12 Reasons to Die albums, nothing has moved me since OB4CL2 in terms of solo releases. Hopefully Meth’s next album will break that trend, its supposedly been in the works for like 6 years now.

      1. Yes , true the a better tomorrow wasnt a real good album , although it has some heat

THe production is a big factor obviously , i still think the clan members would slay a tight track .

Math definetely has qualities but if they do another maybe 4th disciple , true master , bronze nazareth & rza all together could surprise

    10. Deck only on 3 tracks and no GZA? wha the hell is going on? UGOD in the pic but not on the tracklist either.

    11. Am I the only one that think Reggie Noble do not mix with the shaolin style mixture? And I love Redmans first three lps. Overall a quality rekease, dope beats, Meth is the highlight if the album though

      1. I agree. The wu especially fucked up when they put snoop on the W album years back. All I ask for is an all RZA produced 90s style and only the original members, in an album. Instant classic.

        1. Might as well keep listening to 36 Chambers for the rest of your life because we’re not gonna get another album like that again.

    12. Im liking this album so far. Beats and lyrics are both on point. Some wisdom in the bars too. Meth def stands out on this project.

    13. Yes, let’s get them some skinny jeans that are ripped, and throw on some fake dreads and dye them some fruity colors. Let’s all give them T-shirts that have anime characters on them or rock band logos or some designer brand. And can’t forget about those facial tattoos and piercings, bruh. All these will really make them look young and not washed up to your liking.

    14. wu went and stole puffy’s album title. they still salty cause he won best rap album grammy in 97, mad cause puffy is for the children and wu isnt. rae and ghost must really regret not having signed to bad boy when they had the chance.

      1. in the real world bad boy records after 2000 became a joke & wu smovement is still going on

& i like craig mack & big etc

    15. Mathematics has his own production style and this ain’t 1993…no need to hold Wu Tang to a sound and standard from the early 90s. They are grown men! Nice album! 4.2 stars!

    16. Decent album. Seems like after being lost for years this is a step in the right direction
      Rza sounds like Rza aagin

      Meth killed it

      KP killed it

      Gza killed it

But too much redman ( why not Nas?)

Rza always cuts the best songs short Why? What is he trying to prove?

      Needs True and 4th

      No full clan song 🙁

      Some songs lack energy

Math needs to work on his drum patterns. Too predictable and light. Not enough bass. If he had made Hood GO bang with grimier sounds it really would have banged!!!
