Wu-Tang Clan Hulu Series Star Shameik Moore Fails At Naming All Members

Hulu is preparing to unleash its Wu-Tang Clan docu-series Wu-Tang: An American Saga in September. Meanwhile, actor Shameik Moore is preparing for his role as Raekwon but is apparently so consumed with studying The Chef, he had trouble recalling all of the Wu members.

TMZ recently caught up with Moore at the Los Angeles International Airport where he was asked to name everyone in the legendary Hip Hop collective. While Moore admits he didn’t know any of their monikers at first, he says he at least knows the names of those he’s since met.

“RZA, Raekwon, Method Man, Inspectah Deck, GZA, ODB — shit, those might be the ones I know,” he says in the clip. “Oh, Ghostface. Power’s one of them? Or not? Nah. Yeah, those are the ones I know.”

His excuse was that he hadn’t been introduced to U-God, Masta Killa or Cappadonna yet.

To be fair, Moore is only 24 years old. When he was born in 1995, Wu-Tang had only released one album — their iconic 1993 debut, Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). By the time he was old enough to appreciate Hip Hop culture, Wu-Tang was in the 8 Diagram era.

But like it was suggested in the video, Wu-Tang is a critical part of Hip Hop history, so Moore will likely study up after this quiz.

Wu-Tang: An American Saga is expected to premiere on September 8.

    1. Rakeem. Justice. Ason. Rollie. Digilla. Blaze. Noodles. Dini. 4Bar. Louis Rich. The godz

    2. Age aside, they gonna roast this dude… you’re starring in a docuseries and dont even know all the main players involved?? Damn.

    3. I like how he tried to shame him, but then goes on to mention cappadonna as a full member. There was only ever 9 original members, cap was extended fam

    4. Reminds of when Lupe Fiasco performed ATCQ’s Electric Relaxation at VH1 Hip Hop Honors and didn’t know the lyrics.

I was born in 94 and still can name every Wu-Tang members and numerous affiliates (Shyheim, Buddha Monk, Dreddy Kruger, 60 seconds Assassin etc…). Age is not an excuse for ignorance.

      1. while u out here remembering Wu’s backup dancers names this kid is out getting bag after bag bro ?

        1. I put laughing emojis after lmao and they came out as ? , my bad, but yeah the skit on 36 chambers classic…….”wht do u mean is he dead the dude layin there wit all types of shy comin out his head” …#wutangforever

    6. They got him playing Raekwon, while I believe this dude is a great actor and he may pull off the role, he doesn’t look anything like Raekwon.

    7. AS A HUGE WU FAN THIS IS FORGIVABLE.
EASY WAY TO REMEMBER IS BY THREES. THE FOUNDERS – RZA, GZA, ODB. THE STARS – METH, GHOST, RAE. THE UNDERGROUND MEMBERS – INS, MASTA, U GOD

    8. Actually I’m ashamed at RZA for choosing someone that looks nothing like him. Nor does the guy have his strong NY accent. Same with whose playing Reakwon. I’m going to still watch it. But as young man that grew up on Wu being my favorite group and heavily influenced in life by them. I’d expect at least some honest look alikes, like Dave East. He’s young as well. No excuse for not knowing Wu to this present day. My Sons can name every member accurately. No excuse. Plz prove me wrong Rza. Still Love you Bruthas tho. Wu-Tang Forever!

    9. In all fairness he lead with “I didn’t know them before this project,” and goes on to say “I can name the ones I’ve met.” It’s not like he was like “oh for sure” and then didn’t know. People listen, wear, and consume shit on a daily without knowing the back story of where it’s from or how it’s produced, but we’re quick to shame others.

      1. if there was no wu tang there will never be a fucking drake dumb ass boi get it right bitch

      2. Please pay Drake’s little sister no attention. This is a classic example of how the internet became what it is today. A place where kids can throw insults and hide their hands. Goodnight little kid. We see U!!

    10. In The Words Of THe GREAT WU TANG:

WU TANG CLAN IS NOTHING TO FUCK WIT
WU TANG CLAN IS NOTHING TO FUCK WIT
WU TANG CLAN IS NOTHING TO FUCK WIT

    11. I feel like this is gonna be odd to say the least. Tbh I thought it was just another, but longer, documentary like on Showtime. So idk, I’ll watch it bc it may show more content than that short ass 4pt series onShowtime.

    12. I lived with ODB & Produced his them on parole for vh1, my name is in his remake of sound of DA police, and I was on stage at Apollo with them and at RZA penthouse for filming of we pop….He’s wearing my gucci sunglasses in the video
.i miss him, he was real, and truly loved to sing, went to an ojs concert with him…if you watch ODB on parole the white galant is mine…hes def an icon and will be missed!!!

    13. Since Only Built for Cuban Links album, Cappadonna has been Wu, maybe not officially, but has always been a main Wu Tang member. Any real fan knows this. Nobody mentioned Killa Army( Killa Sin, Baretta 9, Don Pachino, 9th Prince)

      1. I understand your admiration for the WU but those others U mentioned are irrelevant. Cappadonna is a honorable mention but Killa Army etc. are best left for die hard fans to remember, not the masses
